How do I defeat bigocto (Or should I say Octo-puke)? He keeps chasing me and I can't get close enough behind him to hit him with the boomerang and hit his back!

Instructions
Okay, it's hard but I'm going for step-to-step thing. Okay here goes.
BATTLE STEPS:
1. When you thrown Princess Ruto where that jewel is, go near her.
2. To fight Big Octo, you'll have to keep on using the boomerang until it shows it's back.
3. Hit it with the sword and keep on doing this.
STRATEGY STEPS:
1. Okay if it chases you, run.
2. If it turns, use the boomerang.
3. On second thought, use the boomerang to stun it and go around the circle, if it is
moving keep using the boomerang and try going near its back. You should win this.
