Guide Opening =============================================================================== The opening to my Pokemon Channel FAQ. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 1.01 - Version History =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.1 - 01 January 2006 - A new version of this file - I have updated the FAQ's look, as well as the copyright for the new year. Version 1.0 - 29 October 2004 - A reformatted version of this file. Also got the mini-games I missed in the earlier version. Version 0.95 - 21 September 2004 - The first posted version of this FAQ. The only thing that this file lacks is a couple of games for the Pokemon mini. Once I get them in the game then I will write for them, or if someone is willing to type them up and submit them to me, I'd be more than glad to post them up and give full credit, of course. Besides that, the entire file is pretty much complete. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 1.02 - Introduction =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Pokemon Channel was released in 2004 exclusively for the GameCube, and I quite like it. It has a lovely system which, like the Pokemon Gold and Silver games, has a time-sensitive system that uses the GameCube's built-in time system so you can play the game at different times of the day over a variety of days. You must watch the channels and file reports to Professor Oak. Even though the actual game itself is pretty simple and easy, it's fun to play if you are a Pokemon fan. The game has many different channels to watch, like the Pokemon News Flash, the Pichu Bros. anime, or you can even shop for items with the shopping channel presented by Squirtle! For Pokemon fans, this one is worth a try! =============================================================================== 2. Game Overview =============================================================================== The basics of Pokemon Channel. Newcomers to the game should read this section to get used to the features of Pokemon Channel before they begin playing. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.01 - Story =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Taken from the instruction manual) One day, you received a special TV from Prof. Oak... Welcome to Pokemon Channel! --------------------------- Pokemon Channel is a TV-broadcasting network that airs a variety of Pokemon programs. You have been selected as part of the initial test audience! Please send me your REPORT on Pokemon Channel after you have viewed the programs on offer! Here at Pokemon Channel, we are collating viewer feedback to make our programming more appealing to everyone, even Pokemon. So sit back with Pikachu and enjoy our programming. Oh, and please don't forget to check back in and report to me so I know what you think! Your feedback will determine the success of our new TV-broadcasting network. I'm counting on you! -Professor Oak. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.02 - Controls =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Analog Stick - Move the cursor around the screen quickly D-Pad - Move the cursor around the screen slowly Start Button - Open the Pokepad; pause the game while watching a programme to bring up the pause menu B - Zoom out from the TV screen to view your surroundings and check things A - Perform action when prompted; such as call on Pikachu when the cursor is over him Z - Switch TV on when it is off, or switch it off when it is on C-Stick - Pet Pikachu when the cursor changes over him L - Switch between TV channels; rewind programme R - Switch between TV channels; fast-forward programme =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.03 - Channels and Programmes =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This is a list of all the channels that you will find on your TV when playing Pokemon Channel, and the programmes that they show. Anime Part 1 Information: This is an anime programme called "Pichu Bros." - a gang of two Pichu brothers and their friends in some big adventures - worth watching, isn't it, no? Anime Part 2 Information: Another part of the Pichu Bros. cartoon to watch, continuing from where they left off in the last episode. Anime Part 3 Information: The third part of the Pichu Bros. cartoon, with some more to watch that continues from the last episode. Anime Part 4 Information: The fourth part of the Pichu Bros. cartoon. What does Meowth have up his sleeve (well not really since he isn't wearing a shirt, but anyway) for the party? Anime Part 5 Information: The enjoyable last episode of Pichu Bros. Once you have watched this, along with the other episode of Pichu Bros., you can watch the whole cartoon at Camp Starlight. Art Channel Information: Presented by the artistic Pokemon Smeargle, this channel looks at various art pieces from around the Pokemon Channel world. Sometimes even paintings that you have created could appear on here! What does Smeargle think of your creation! Egg Channel Information: You'll see an egg moving around on a little platform. You have a choice of four Pokemon who you think will hatch from the egg when the timer stops. If you get it right, your bet will win a sum of money. The longer you wait, the bigger the amount of money you win. If it takes a while for the egg to hatch, do whatever you want in the meantime and return to the channel when it's time for it to hatch. Fitness Channel Information: What would TV be without a dose of execrise programs, eh? Work those muscles! Lose some weight! Join in with Smoochum to trim the pounds by watching its exercise programme it instructs. Even Pikachu likes to join in! Fortune Channel Information: Chansey is surrounded by some fortune cookies. Choose one and Chansey reads the fortune message that is inside. You only get one each day, but some new fortunes appear the next day. News Channel Information: This channel is a news program that is presented by none other than the crazy creature with a headache - Psyduck. Psyduck gives you all the latest news in the Pokemon world, and also some reports and interviews from Meowth. Watch it occasionally to find out the latest goings-on. Sometimes Psyduck falls to sleep during broadcasts, though! Quiz Channel 1 Information: Three contender Pokemon quiz together in this game presented by Wobbuffet. There are different types of questions such as the SILHOUETTE QUIZ (in which the contender tries to recognize a Pokemon by their silhouette obviously) and the MATCH-THAT-CRY QUIZ (find out the Pokemon by listening to it calling out its name). There is also a PRESENT QUIZ in which you take part to answer a question to earn some money by simply touching the screen. Watch out for Pikachu however, as the little rat sometimes pushes the TV causing you to get an incorrect answer, costing you money! Quiz Channel 2 Information: Another easy way to get yourself some money by guessing whether the amount of Pokemon that appear is an odd number or an even number. There is a money timer that decreases as your guess takes longer. So answer quicker, and if you're right, you win more money! Ranking Channel Information: Smoochum presents a channel that lists some polls and surveys taken about Pokemon that seem to be created randomly. It also lists the top 5 Pokemon at the current time and the amount of points that they hold. Relaxation Channel Information: Some Mareeps hop over a fence and you count them to drowse off to sleep...*snores* (BTW: BOOOOOORING) Report Channel Information: Here, you can file a report to Professor Oak about the shows that you have watched on the TV. Once you have filed your first report, from then on you can use this channel to save your progress in the game. Shopping Channel Information: Spencer the Squirtle (the blue turtle with the shades) hosts an interactive shopping channel in which you can spend your Pokemon money to buy items, such as Binders, Nice Cards, Bus Passes and so on. However watch out because Pikachu sometimes pushes the TV, which could mean you end up wasting money on items you don't need or want. Weather Channel Information: Slowpoke takes his time (literally) to tell you the current weather conditions in a certain location in the Pokemon World currently going on. Remember to keep track of the weather because different Pokemon appear in some locations under certain weather conditions at different times of the day. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.04 - Basics =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Pokepad ------- When you get the Pokepad, you can press Start on the controller to view a load of stats about the game that you have obtained so far. This is a rundown of them each: LOG: A list of events that have gone on so far in the game. SHOWS: The programmes that you have watched. TVS: The TVs you have used to watch programmes. GOODS: Items you have obtained in the game. The pad also has a display of the date, time and amount of money you currently have on the page on the left. Exploring --------- You can leave the TV by zooming out and looking around the room to see some stuff. There is a bookcase, a clock to tell you the time, a wardrobe, some coloured boxes, a poster, a town map, a trash can, a drawer and a desk where your Binder is kept, so you can look at your Nice Cards, a bed, a cushion, and of course, the TV. You can also go out through the front door to reach the Bus Stop, or exit via the screen door to the Yard. Pikachu ------- When Pikachu is first introduced to you, you should allow it to come in and watch some telly with you. It is a good way to see how well Pokemon interact with TV and what kind of programmes they like. Pikachu enjoys to sometimes toy with the TV however, and he may disrupt your programmes by playing with the TV by jumping into it. Be aware of this when you are playing the quiz game, for example, as he could cause you to get a wrong answer if he touches the screen, wasting potential money. When he is looking around, you can call on him with the A button and pet him by moving the C-Stick around. At first Pikachu is very timid, but if you treat him nicely, you'll soon become the best of friends. Other Basics ------------ Your Room --------- This is where most of the game takes place. There are several things in your room to look around at: a clock, the coloured boxes, the drawers where you can keep the binder and mini (once you get them), and the TV to watch. You can also fill it up with dolls by buying them from the Shopping Channel. Nice Cards ---------- Nice Cards are the fashion of the Pokemon Channel world. You can collect them in three different kinds: Single, Platinum and Motion. There are 101 to collect with some extras that Pikachu gives to you. You can obtain them by talking to Pokemon and answering their quiz questions correctly, or by purchasing a Nice Card pack from Shop 'n' Squirtle. You must get a binder to store them. You will get a new, bigger binder when your old one becomes full. Getting Money ------------- You need money to purchase things from the Shopping Channel. You can raise your money by running Professor Oak's errands, selling old paintings at auctions or getting quiz questions or bets correct. If you have answered a Pokemon's quiz question correctly previously, ask them again and get it right for more money. The Pokepad ----------- The Pokepad keeps a log of all the events, TVs and goods that you have collected and obtained during the game as you have played through. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.05 - Smeargle 2 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Controls -------- Control Stick + Control Pad - Move Start/Pause - Menu B - Eraser A - Draw Y - Bucket/Crayon X - Change Color Z - Help Tools ----- This is basically the stuff you use when playing with the Smeargle 2. BUCKET: Fills in an entire area with the specified colour. CRAYON: Hold the A button down and move the cursor to colour in any part that the crayon is moving over. ERASER: Rub out any colour. Press B repeatedly to choose different sizes of erasers. There are three sizes - large, medium and small. Colour Palette -------------- Press X to show the colour circles. It looks somewhat like this: O o o o o o o o o o (the large O is the colour that is selected) Press Left or Right on the analog stick to switch colours. Press Up or Down to switch colour types and patterns. There are three colour types: basic colours, mixed colours, and patterns. That's about all you'll need to know about using Smeargle 2, so enjoy playing with it! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2.06 - FAQs =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Q: Is Mew in the game? A: You can't actually FIND Mew, but it is mentioned on the News Channel. Q: How come I can't get Jirachi? A: Jirachi is only in the PAL version of the game (European or Australian). Jirachi is NOT in the NTSC version of Pokemon Channel. Q: Do you get anything for collecting all the Nice Cards? A: The satisfaction of knowing you got them all. Q: How do you stop Pikachu from changing all the channels? A: Watch the programme in full-screen views or buy a Snorlax doll so that he falls asleep when watching it. Q: Hi, I'm from CheatCC... A: Go away. =============================================================================== 3. Walkthrough =============================================================================== Now, before you begin, you should note that the time, there is a time-based system that determines when events happen during the day. After you watch all the programs in one day, you won't be able to watch any new ones, as they are not broadcast until 5 o'clock next morning. So you'll either have to sleep until the next day or save and switch the game off to change time on your GameCube's time display screen, which is quicker. Also, you can get different items at different times of the day. There are four different times of the day. They are roughly as follows: 05:00am - 09:00am = Morning } This refers to real-life time, according to the 09:00am - 04:00pm = Day } time that your GameCube makes it. Also the date 04:00pm - 07:00pm = Evening } affects this, for example Daylight Saving Time. 07:00pm - 05:00am = Night } Also, I wrote this walkthrough based on the progress I made through the game. Certain events listed here could happen before or after where they are listed in the guide, and the way you treat Pikachu also affects this. Just so you know, ok. Let's begin. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.01 - Day One =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= When you have started up your game and selected "NEW GAME", the game asks you to confirm the date and time. If it's correct or not, specify by selecting YES or NO. Once you begin, you'll see some Magnemites taking a TV screen across the land, and Pikachu, Torchic, Mudkip and Treeko watch them. The Magnemites then get the TV transported to your house and you'll get a message from Professor Oak, who welcomes you to the game. This TV is a gift from the Pokemon Channel. You've been asked to be the initial test audience. You are then asked to input your name. The original name supplied is "Seth", but you can change it to whatever you want. You are then told that the first programme is the new anime show called "Pichu Bros.". You are asked to watch the anime and talk to Oak again after you have seen the entire show. So the screen automatically changes to the Anime Channel and you can now watch the first episode of Pichu Bros. Enjoy it! After the anime is finished, Professor Oak comes into contact with you again. He asks if you could file a Report. You will send your reports in via the Report Channel, which is where you will subsequently save your progress. Oak teaches you how to change the channels on the TV using the (-) and (+) buttons, or with the GameCube controller with the L or R buttons. He also tells you how to switch the TV on or off with the big red button or the Z button. He tells you to switch to the Report Channel, so do that now. Set the cursor over to the _Report_ button and press A to send in your report. Oak allows you to save your game here. Once you have saved your game, Professor Oak gives you P20 (the currency of the game which you can use to buy things from the Shop 'n' Squirtle channel). You can play on the Quiz Channel to try to get some more P as well. Also, after he gives you some advice on saving, you'll hear a cry from Pikachu. He tells you to look around to see what it was. So first, switch the TV off by pressing the red switch below the screen or pressing the Z button on your controller. Now put the cursor over the screen and press B so that you can zoom out and look around the room to find out where that cry came from. Move the cursor over to the right until you see the door, where Pikachu and his mates are looking inside. Point the cursor over the door and press A when it says "Open". The other Pokemon get scared and run off, but Pikachu happily joins you inside. It seems that the Pikachu is interested in watching the TV, so from here on, he'll join you in watching it. You can let Oak know how well Pikachu likes TV by filing your report. So let's see how the experiment goes. Oak tells you to zoom in on the TV and switch it on. Oak then tells you about the Pokepad he had delivered along with the TV you got not so long ago. And there, you are presented with the Pokepad! Press Start on the controller to view the Pokepad. Play around with it a little, then press B to leave, and you are then told that there are some other programmes on that you need to watch. So switch the TV on and watch some all of the programs on the channels marked "NEW" when you are switching through channels. Make sure you watch ALL the programmes before advancing. PNF (Pokemon News Flash) Channel -------------------------------- Psyduck presents the news with some articles and Meowth's interview on the scene, which you can watch to see the Pokemon and events that are going on in the specified places Meowth is at. After the on-the-scene interviews with some Pokemon from Meowth, Psyduck presents some other nonsenical crap about other Pokemon and then the channel broadcast finishes so you can watch something else. After that Psyduck may fall asleep during the broadcast! Shopping Channel ---------------- Spencer the Squirtle presents the shopping channel, which is interactive so you can order items. They have different prices and delivery times. When you watch, you should purchase the Binder, which costs P10 and comes with a free Nice Card Pack. Once you've bought it you'll get it in immediate delivery so you can keep your Nice Cards organised. After that, you can buy other items on offer, if you have enough money saved, such as Dolls or Nice Cards, and also depending on the time perhaps, as well. Make sure Pikachu doesn't go pushing the TV buying things you don't want. When you have ordered and leave the TV, your order comes. Open the door so you can get the Shop 'n' Squirtle item you ordered. You get the Binder and Bonus Cards. You get 5 random cards that you can put in your Binder. Oak tells you that if you collect 25 different Nice Cards, he'll get you a reward. Sounds promising. You can simply look in the binder to see your Nice Cards. When you've done so, you can return back to watching the TV. Fitness Channel --------------- The Smoochum Shape-up channel is presented by Smoochum, who gives the audience a load of exercises to try out. If you are watching with Pikachu near you, he'll even join in! As he works out and gets into fitter shape, Pikachu becomes better at exercising. Just watch what goes on and after a short while the programme finishes and you can return to watching other channels. Quiz Channel ------------ Wobbuffet presents a quiz show in which three Pokemon, each inside Pokemon Pods, answer questions that are asked to them. When they get an answer right, the pod is lowered a little, and whoever gets to the bottom first is the winner. After some questions are asked by Wobbuffet, you can take part in the Present Quiz, so you can test out your Pokemon knowledge to see if you can earn some money. However watch out for Pikachu as he sometimes pushes the screen, and could cost you potential money, so try answering quicker. The faster you push the right answer, the more money you win! You can use the money to purchase items from the Shopping Channel, as you should know by now. Once the quiz show is over, that's all you've needed to watch for now. You may want to save your game after you've done that. After you've filed your report, Magnemite drops in a new surprise from Oak - a SMEARGLE 2. With this, you can paint a captured image that you get from the telly. It can be placed on the Pokemon Channel, as a poster in your room, and you could sell any paintings you don't want or need for some money, which does indeed come in handy. However, you can only use it with the anime Pichu Bros. Oak explains that while Pichu Bros. is on TV, set the cursor onto the Smeargle 2 and press the A button to capture the image. It's also a prototype creation, so you are asked to give it a try. So return to the Anime Channel and watch Pichu Bros. Make sure that the Smeargle 2 is in the view so that you can push it to capture an image. Make sure you find a scene that you are happy with, then you can begin colouring it in. Do whatever you want with the painting - it's just experimenting. Once you have completed the painting, name it, and return to the Report Channel. When you talk to Oak, he seems happy with the way the Smeargle 2 Pain System is progressing. He also tells you that new programmes are schedules to be aired tomorrow at 5:00am (in real time, by the way). He would have thought that Pikachu would have caused some mischief, but he believes he thought wrong...and ironically, when he says this, Pikachu gets excited and zaps the TV, thus blowing it up! You little bugger! Oak decides to send a replacement TV. The Magnemites bring in the "Retro TV" - exactly what it says on the tin. An old TV. It lets you see that stuff, but it's only in Black and White, so you'll have to make do with it for now. However the colour TV will be fixed in no time. Now save your Report Data, and you can either wait until tomorrow, 5:00am at the earliest, or you could switch the game off and set your GameCube clock forward until it's 5:00am tomorrow...right now. NOTE ---- You can also look around. Search around the bedroom for stuff that Pikachu can play with (look under the bed for a mini-case). You can go into the yard to talk to the other Pokemon for some Nice Cards if you answer their questions correctly. If you allow Pikachu to examine the wooden box (look at it first), it will find a banana and eat it. Then look at the banana peel to make Pikachu do the most old-fashioned pratfall of them all by tumbling on it. You can also play a little mini-game of growing a plant. You can explore other stuff in the yard, and also look around in the Springleaf Field and play catch with Pikachu with a ball that you can find by examining the Strange Hole. You can also talk to some other Pokemon. Once you are fully done doing that, then you can save and wait for tomorrow. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.02 - Day Two =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= On the new day, you'll see the Magnemites delivering the repaired television (full colour! Yes!) to your house, and it opens up with you getting a message from Professor Oak, who informs you that there are several new Pokemon programmes going on air, all thanks to you. And so, Oak hands over P50 as a token of his gratitude. He also tells you that from now on, Shop 'n' Squirtle are selling TVs. You could now start buying some new, better TVs to exchange for what you already have (access Pokepad to change them). Now it's time to be viewing some new programmes and filing some new reports. So let's go! Note that now there are some new channels to watch, and some new things you can do, such as buying new items from Shop 'n' Squirtle. Now here's the rundown of each of the programmes again: Weather Channel --------------- Slowpoke presents the weather of an area by presenting some weather cards on a board. This can tell you the current weather in a certain location in the Pokemon Channel world around you at the current moment. It can also sometimes change when Slowpoke points his tail at the pictures and for example, it could become clear. Slowpoke can show a variety of locations and weather, and remember that different Pokemon appear in the specified areas depending on the weather type, so if you are aiming to gather as many cards as you can, be sure to bear this in mind! Art Channel ----------- Smeargle's Art Study is a program presented by Smeargle to discuss art for Pokemon. Sometimes your old auctioned paintings or the current paintings hanging up in your room even appear on the program! For instance, a picture I made that had barely any colour and had almost blank content was being regarded as a masterpiece by Smeargle (lol!!). Pikachu enjoys his art and likes watching. Anime Part 2 ------------ Another episode of Pichu Bros. is on the air! Pikachu also does seem interested in watching this, and it continues with looking at the adventures of the Pichu Bros. and their pals. After you have watched this, you may want to return to some old programmes and do the following... Visit the Shop 'n' Squirtle channel and see if you can purchase some passes. I ordered passes to Cobalt and Viridian Forest (they were P20 each). You could also purchase any other items you might be interested in, like Nice Cards, Wallpapers, new TVs or the like. You can also make a new painting with the Smeargle 2 and get another old painting auctioned off for some more money, and play on the Quiz Channel to try for some more as well. Also, if you managed to purchase a pass to Viridian Forest, it would be worth going out to catch the bus (go out through the front door which is the white door at the back of the room, not the slide door leading to the yard). Step on the Viridian bus when it arrives (you can find some Pokemon to chat to here for Nice Cards as well). If you miss the bus, simply go back into the house and then back into the front yard again and the bus will reappear. Viridian Forest --------------- When you are in Viridian Forest, you can find some Pokemon to chat to for some Nice Cards. You can look at the blue mushrooms and Pikachu can try to roast them, which doesn't work. You can also go to the Camp Starlight on the left of the screen (open only at night) and talk to several Pokemon around a campfire and answer their questions for a whole load of Nice Cards ^_^. Also, coming here on a different day of the week could have a different Pokemon at the campsite. Make sure you check each time once you are able to. You may also find some Magnemites with the camera reporting around the area, and Pikachu will even pose for the camera, and you can see him on the PNF the next time you watch TV. When you're all done and dusted in this area, you can simply go back to the house. NOTE ---- After you're sure you've done everything you need to, return to the Report Channel and file your report so that you can save your progress on the game. Professor Oak is indeed very pleased with the report, and tells you again that new programs are scheduled to broadcast, as usual, at 5:00am tomorrow morning. So to get to view them, either go to sleep and wait until 5 o'clock tomorrow morning or after saving your game, knock the time forward on your GameCube's hardware, whichever you prefer. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.03 - Day Three =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Pikachu's been sleeping over at your house in the cupboard! Once he's up, Professor Oak greets you and he sees that Pikachu likes your house, and you too! He asks if you'd like to give Pikachu a nickname. Name him anything you'd like, but by default this FAQ will continue to refer to him as Pikachu. Once you've confirmed the nickname you've given to Pikachu, Oak continues telling you that he's pleased with your reports. Pokemon Channel has turned into a huge success because of you! As a token of his gratitude, Oak gives you some more money! Also, if you ordered items from Shop 'n' Squirtle yesterday (you should have, like I did), Delibird will stop by to drop off your items. If you've gotten enough Nice Cards (I ordered about 15), Oak gives you a quick message to tell you that he notices you've got a good collection of Nice Cards so far, and he has Magnemite drop off a Superior Binder as a little extra reward. This can hold up to 50 kinds of Nice Cards. He has also put in a little extra surprise...some rare Platinum cards! He'll also give you another reward once you've collected some more cards... Anyway, time to watch some more programs. You may also do a bit more shopping, but I'd rather leave it until you've got it over and done with. So here is the list of programmes to be watching today... Egg Channel ----------- You can place some bets using this channel. You see an egg wobbling around, and some random text about Pokemon scrolls across the top of the screen. Anyway, the point is to have a guess at which Pokemon (from a choice of four you have at the bottom of the screen - touch whichever one you think it'll be) will hatch. There is an approximate timer that tells you how long the egg will be until it hatches. If you get it right, you'll win some money. You don't have to stay on this channel waiting for ages to see the Pokemon hatch - you can bet and return back later to check if you've made any winnings - the longer you've waited the more promising the reward. You only have to actually watch the whole thing once - which would be the first time. After that, good luck with your betting. Fortune Channel --------------- Chansey presents another interactive channel in which some fortune cookies float around it. Choose a cookie and Chansey will tell you the fortune message that appears in it. New fortunes appear on the channel tomorrow once you have had your fortune read to you. Some fortunes are rather lousy like "You're staring at the TV screen right now, am I right?", while some are more noteworthy to see. Yawn. Anime Part 3 ------------ The third part of the thrilling cartoon anime series about the Pichus, their friends and the ongoing party with Meowth. What new surprises await? Watch and find out. NOTE ---- Once you've watched all the channels, you can do even more shopping on Shop 'n' Squirtle. If you got some dolls, you can examine them to have Pikachu play with them and he'll ask if you can do something with him (for example, teach him how to switch the TV on). Other stuff you can do as usual is try a bit of painting and look around to try to find other Pokemon to talk to so you can attempt to get some more Nice Cards. Also note that a Snowfall Pass will be for sale on the shopping channel for the great bargain price of P10, so make sure you purchase it if you wish to go to Mt. Snowfall. Ready to do a little bit more exploring? If you head to the Front Yard, wait until a bus to Mt. Snowfall appears (the Viridian might come first however). When it appears (you did get the pass, didn't you?), you can start exploring Mt. Snowfall. Talk to the Pokemon around to get some questions to see if you can get some more Nice Cards. Also, if you talk to Kecleon and write fan mail to him (when you return home), you'll get a Nice Card from him once you give it to him. There's a lot to explore and look at around here. You can go to the concert and Pikachu even joins in. Also be sure to look at the small igloos, as you may find some secret rewards inside them! Also try checking the stumps. When you're all done and dusted, you can return to your home and file a report to Prof. Oak and save your game, then wait until tomorrow to get to watch some new programmes and find new stuff. So either sleep until then or change your GameCube's timer, whichever you want ;). =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.04 - Day Four =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Seems that Pikachu's invited some friends over =P. You begin the day with Oak telling you that thanks to the success you have made Pokemon Channel become, the Smeargle Paint System is now upgraded! You can now make paintings on any channels you want, instead of just the Anime Channels! Horray! It could mean more money for selling new paintings...well I'll leave you to find that one out. Professor Oak gives you some money as another token of his gratitude. He'll give any other minor notes, such as if your paintings were sold at an auction or whatever. Delibird may also come to drop off any ordered items if you made any. Once you're all done with what you need to do before you begin, it's about time that we got to watching some more channels, isn't it? Anime Part 4 ------------ Ah yes, another new episode of everyone's favourite Pokemon Channel cartoon! Meowth's party looks to be on the road now, and what's in store for the Pichus and their friends, as well as the new Oddish that lost its invitation to Meowth's party? Pikachu will also enjoy watching it with you. So watch and see what happens next. Relaxation Channel ------------------ Welcome to the Mareep Farm. What this channel is basically about is if you feel a little sleepy and wish to count some sheep -- I mean, Mareeps. You just see some Mareeps hopping a fence and the TV counts them for you. How rather innovative for a new channel. Just keep watching and watching...and...watching...and after lots of Mareeps have hopped the fence the programme ends, so you continue with watching the other channels. The programme finishes once 50 Mareeps have hopped the fence. In the meantime go make yourself a cup of coffee so you don't fall asleep counting all those god damn sheep -- I mean, MAREEPS! Ranking Channel --------------- Smoochum ranks the top 5 Pokemon, that seem to be in some totally random order, for whatever reason I do not know. The Pokemon are shown, then a summary of them and the points that thye gained in their rank. Other polls (such as which is nicer - Poison or Water-type Pokemon?). Smoochum also gives a list of how many times you have done things during the time that you have spent playing the game. After Smoochum reads all the facts and that's it for now, you can get on with watching the other channels. Quiz Channel 2 -------------- This show is called "Odd One Out". What basically happens is that a certain number of Pokemon appear on the field, and you have to guess how many there are - if there is an odd number of Pokemon (that is, if the quantity of Pokemon has a last digit that is 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9, as you should no doubt know), or even (last digit ends with 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0). Guess it right and you win some money. If you guess it right quicker, you get more money. This is certainly easy, and a great way to get some cash if you are running skint. Once you have watched all the new channels, you may want to check the old ones too. You can look on Shop 'n' Squirtle and possibly buy some new Nice Cards, or have a look to see if there are some new games for your Pokemon Mini that you would perhaps like to buy. Also keep an eye out for a Bus Pass that can take you to Cobalt Cove. This is the last Bus Pass you will need to get, so you can now travel everywhere on the bus from your Front Yard. I should also remind you to look everywhere often, as new things appear at different times on different days. Cobalt Coast ------------ Here, you can play a tic-tac-toe game with Pikachu or he can try to swim to the island in the distance, but you can't get there. Also, make sure you try out the "Secret Cove" to do some fishing for Pokemon that can give you Nice Cards if you answer their questions. Some Pokemon are less common to find than others. The Pokemon that you can find by fishing are Cloyster, Goldeen, Horsea, Krabby, Lanturn, Magikarp, Marrill, Octillery, Poliwag, Remoraid, Shellder, Starmie, Staryu and Wailmer. When you have done enough fishing, the B Button allows you to stop. You also get the statistics of your fishing trip of what you caught. Once done, return back to your home. Watch anything you want and do any activites you usually do when you've completed all the other tasks. Then sleep until the next day (at least 5:00am or later), or fast-forward the timer on your GameCube so that it's the next day - Day Five. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.05 - Day Five =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The day begins with breaking news from the PNF. Psyduck reports that a footage disk containing the Anime Part 5 of Pichu Bros. went missing when it was being delivered by a Magnemite, who accidentally dropped and lost it! Professor Oak then contacts you, informing you that Pichu Bros. Part 5 should have been aired today, but the footage has gone missing! (Tell us something we don't know.) It seems that it was lost in the vicinity of the summit of Mt. Snowfall. It seems that since you could get there by bus, you're the only one Oak can count on. We can't waste time, so let's go! Before heading to Mt. Snowfall though, go to Springleaf Field. Springleaf Field ---------------- Say Hi to Duskull, who tells you that it is looking for a Ball. Say Yes when you are prompted with the question of finding it. Have Pikachu examine the Strange Hole, and Pikachu fishes out the ball. Check the ball when Pikachu fetches it over to you, then Pikachu will give the ball to Duskull, who happily in return gives you the Duskull Lamp. This'll prove handy for later BTW. Now go to the Front Yard and catch the bus that goes to Mt. Snowfall. Mt. Snowfall ------------ Chat to any new Pokemon for Nice Cards or money if you haven't done so already, then look to the very right-hand end of the area to find a signpost leading to _The Ruins of Truth_. This is where you need to go, so check the singpost to get to the next area. Ruins of Truth -------------- Talk to the Pokemon around here, then talk to the giant Gengar blocking the road behind them. It might move if you use the Duskull Lamp, so do that. Pikachu holds the Duskull Lamp up at the Gengar, who runs off. Hey, it worked. Now you can go into the huge structure behind you. The whole place is pitch black and Pikachu is very scared. He runs over to some bell flowers. Examine them and Pikachu uses Thunderbolt on them to make a light appear. Make sure you light up both flowers so that you can see clearly, and it's now very bright. Pikachu notices a signpost. Examine it to go forward. Pikachu finds some sort of structure with a 'O' and 'X' symbols on the tablet. This may have something to do with those right or wrong questions as you are well aware...a question appears, and answer it. If you get it right (don't worry, you can simply exit and re-enter if you get it wrong), a Golbat statue rises from where the tablet descends. Check the Golbat statue, and Pikachu gets stuck! Wiggle the analog stick on your controller rapidly to help get the poor creature out, along with the Pichu Bros. Part 5 episode! Now you need to get this to Magnemite. Simply exit the ruins, Magnemite appears, and you can return back to your home. Get that TV on and watch Part 5! Anime Part 5 ------------ A totally 3D music video of Meowth's song, which also reveals some of his master plan! Hmmm...seems sneaky. Enjoy the video about Meowth's party song, then it returns to the anime. Enjoy the finale! Watch any other channels you have to (now would be a good time to see if you can get some money), order anything from the Shopping Channel you want, then return to the Report channel to file your report. When Prof. Oak appears, he asks if you liked the conclusion part of Pichu Bros. Every programme available on Pokemon Channel has now been shown on the air, and it's all thanks to you! Oh, and Pikachu of course =). He also tells you that he's preparing a special gift for you as thanks for all the help and contribution you have made to making Pokemon Channel a success. It's going to be ready for you tomorrow. Oak's sure he may have missed something...but anyway, save your data. Now sleep until the next day or turn the clock on your GameCube forward to next day for the final day you actually need to go through to complete the game. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 3.06 - Day Six =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Pikachu, who is sleeping on your bed, wakes up happily, and you are greeted by Professor Oak, who tells you that they're almost finished preparing your gift. The gift is called the "Star Projector". At Camp Starlight, you can use it to watch images being projected across the sky. Suddenly, a Pokemon arrives. Oak can't believe it...it's Jirachi!!! You are taken to Camp Starlight with Jirachi, and then the Star Projector runs the entire Pichu Bros. anime across the night sky! This is basically the end of the game. Of course you can continue playing the game to do more stuff, but this is really where what is "needed" to be done is done, so enjoy playing more of Pokemon Channel. Congratulations upon beating Pokemon Channel! =============================================================================== 4.
