Classic NES Series: The Legend of Zelda Hints

Just play the flute around Digdogger and he will split into 3 pieces, then kill one of them then exit then enter the room and voila! The other 2 digdoggers are gone!

Just play the flute somewhere outside (Not in any of the areas where the flute can open secret pa.s.sageways) and then a small vortex will come. Let it get you and it'll take you to the entrance to one of the dungeons you completed (Except for dungeon 2 in the 2nd quest, instead it'll take you somewhere else.
