A long-lived peace is at an end. The emperor of
Palamecia has called forth monsters from the
underworld and begun his campaign for world conquest.
A rebel army arose in the kingdom of Fynn to thwart
the emperor's plans. But the rebels' castle fell to an all-
out assault by the empire. Left with little choice, the
rebels withdrew to the remote town of Altair.
Four youths from Fynn also found themselves fleeing
the imperial forces. They had lost their parents at the
hands of the empire. But their escape wasn't over...

First, there was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance released for the GBA. Now
however, Square-Enix has taken another title and remade the NES hits, Final
Fantasy and Final Fantasy II for play on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance system.
For the most part, gameplay from the original NES and PS versions remains
intact. However, a few additions, including the Soul Of Chaos and Soul Of
Rebirth extra dungeons, are obviously new.
This second guide fully covers Final Fantasy II and the Soul Of Rebirth
dungeons.

[Q] Why don't you list Item Shops?
[A] All Item Shops throughout Final Fantasy II sell the same thing.
Re-writing up each Item Shop inventory would be a waste of time and
space.

[Q] With a magic spell, how do you make so that it affects all enemies?
[A] When selecting an enemy to attack, use the Directional Pad to move
the cursor to the bottom to select all enemies. Keep in mind that
although you damage all, the HP damage is considerably lower.

[Q] How come my weapons won't level up anymore?
[A] Well, it is most likely because the monsters you are fighting are
too weak. A monster has a rank. The higher the rank, the more points
you'll get from it. Check the Bestiary for ranking information.

[Q] How can I increase evade and/or agility?
[A] Both require you to get hit by an enemy. It doesn't matter whether
or not you evade enemy attacks though. The lighter your equipment,
the faster your agility goes up. A cheap method of gaining evade
stats is equipping two shields. Then just attack with both shields
a few hundred times (note that you can't deal damage). After killing
your opponent, your shield stats will go up like crazy.

[Q] How can I increase HP/MP?
[A] Increase HP by getting hit a lot of times. If you are training in an
area where monsters barely deal any damage, increase HP by attacking
your allies. To increase MP, you need to use as much MP per turn as
possible. For example, if you have a level 10 Cure spell and a level
5 Fire spell, you would use the level 10 Cure spell to level up your
MP faster.

[Q] Why does Josef suck with every weapon?
[A] Josef fights better without a weapon and shield. Try it out for
yourself.

[Q] Did that Green Soul just heal me?
[A] Yes. It's a mystery as to why they do it, but whenever you encounter
one of these, let them heal you first.

[Q] How do I unlock the Soul Of Rebirth?
[A] You have to beat the main game before you can play this side quest.
Otherwise, the story wouldn't make any sense to you.

[Q] How come I can't equip the Wild Rose/Bracers/Wyvern Lance/Stardust
Rod?
[A] These weapons/gloves can only be equipped on a certain unit, and
they can only be picked up in the Soul Of Rebirth. Wild Rose goes
to Scott. Bracers go to Josef. Wyvern Lance goes to Ricard. And
the Stardust Rod goes to Minwu.

[Q] Where can I get the Berserk Tome?
[A] You can buy it from the guy selling magic tomes in the Jade Passage.
If you want to get it earlier, just beat up Magicians.
