I got ASCII for GBA and SP, but I could use one for DS. Someone tried to send me one a while ago but that didn't work because they couldn't send it for some reason. Anyway, if you have one, can make one, or know someone who can, email me at HMKing88@gmail.com with the ASCII art attached as a .txt file. NO EMAILING ME THE ASCII AS THE EMAIL! THAT DOESN'T WORK! IT MAY LOOK LIKE IT WORKS, BUT IT DON'T. I FORGOT TO TURN CAPS OFF. Oops! Also, try to keep the buttons similar to the other ones. Like the ASCII art for the START button is like this now: (START). Don't send it one that looks like this: [start]. Try to keep the arrow buttons, start, select, shoulder, A, B buttons the same. Thanks! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= I have added a ton of codes and stuff so that you can quickly "surf" through the guide. It is part of a series that is one of a kind, not to mention one of my favorite game series ever. This is one of those games that hardly ever gets old. You can play it for months and not find everything. Compared to the original Harvest Moon, this is a massive game. I cannot really find much wrong with it. For those who like to cheat, you'll play ten minutes and say "Dude! I need the freaking codes for this thing! I got to cheat!". At least that's what I said. For those who get bored easy, you'll be kept occupied for ever! So if you got the attention span of a small rodent, you qualify to be a Harvest Moon fan! :) Either that or someone with ADHD. =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= Money, Money, Money.................................................(HM4.02.05) =.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.= In this section, I share with you a bunch of good money making methods that I have found or others have sent in to me. Unlike other methods, you don't need any tools upgraded or lots of hearts and yadda yadda. -------- 1,000g A Day- Ruck Sack Upgrade: Save up 3000g and buy it at store, then 5,000g for the next one. Fishing Pole: 1) Watch the cut scene about Karen and Won (Won's shop). 2) Go to the library and check all the books to see which of them says something about Zack¥s friend. 3) Go to Zack¥s house to receive the rod. This is how I made a little more than a 1000g a day. At night fish and fill your ruck sack with fish. The next day, put those in your bin. Then put whatever is growing on the tree in the bin. Collect all the eggs from your chickens and sell those. Then go to the mountain area and collect herbs and berries or whatever is growing and put those in the bin too. Then the next day you will have made at least 1000g. Of course, you will get a ton more than that if you upgrade your fishing pole, upgrade ruck sack, upgrade chicken coop so you have more chickens. You can make even more money by having lots of cows and sheep. -------- -Non Stop Working When you wake up, take everything from the tree, gather the eggs, then head to the mine and go to about level 12 or 13. Then start hammering rocks and gather diamonds until you turn blue. Head back to the farm and drop them in the shipment box, then go to the hot springs for about 2-3 hours (game time), go in the mine and do it all over again. -Contributed By Jeff -------- -Horse Race $$$ If you save your money and buy a basket you can take it to the horse races with you. Place your bets! Get loads of metals and buy broaches, which sell for a ton of money! And hey... since your rucksack only holds 8 items... put them in the basket! Then dump 'em in the shipping bin the next day and you've got easy money! -Contributed By Many Readers All At Once! -------- -Lucavi's BIG Money Maker Plan From the very beginning of the game, pick herbs and bamboo shoots near the mine in the forest and put them in your shipping bin. Harvest the honey from the tree and put it in the shipping bin. Remember to go to the super market and view Karen's heart event- afterwards, if you have a clear spot in your rucksack, she will give you a bag of grass seeds. Clear a 3x3 area on your land and plant your grass seeds the same day you recieve them. (Grass does not need watering.) As soon as you aquire 1500 gold, buy a chicken. Feed it \each day and pick it up and put it down as well to gain its affection. When it lays its first egg, put it in the incubater. Put the rest of the eggs your chicken lays in the shipping bin until the egg in the incubater hatches. Then, put another egg into the incubater until you have four chickens. Remember to buy a lot of chicken feed. Continue to harvest things you find in the forest. If you are able to finish your tasks quickly and efficently, go to the mine with your hammer and dig around on the first floor for silver, copper, and ores. If it is about the 20th of Spring or earlier, and you have 5000 gold, purchase a cow from Yodel Farm. Buy the brush from the blacksmith the same day you get the cow. Brush it, feed it, and talk to it every day. If your grass is tall enough to be cut with the sickle, you can leave your cow outside to graze. This will make your cow love you. In a week, your cow will mature. If you have the money, buy a milking machine from the blacksmith and milk your cow. This will give you more profits. Now, after all of this work, it should be about the 1st of Summer. By now you should have at least 1000 gold to spare. If not, get it as soon as possible. When you do, go to the beach where Won is in his shack. He will sell you pineapple seeds for 1000 gold per bag. Buy as many as you can. Plant them like this. x*x x*x xxx xxx * = no seed xxx xxx x = seed Pineapple seeds take 20 days to grow. So if you plant them on the first day of Summer, you will be able to harvest them twice. When you pick them, it will take 5 days for them to regrow. So perhaps you may even be able to harvest them 3 times! Now, if they cost 1000 gold per bag, they have got to earn you much more than that per pineapple! I don't know the exact price though. Now, since you have all of this money, (which should be about 10,000 gold at least) go to the super market. Buy as many sacks of flour as you can carry and wrap them as presents. Go to the church and take the path to the right of it to get into the Harvest Sprites' home. They adore flour, so give all of them wrapped presents of flour until you get them to 3 hearts each. I would get them to 4 hearts if I were you. When fall comes around, clear a big space in your field because you are going to need a lot of space. Make sure your watering can is at least on level 3 (if not, find gold in the mine around the 4th or 5th floor and take it to the blacksmith to upgrade. Assuming you've used your watering can enough, you should have enough experience to upgrade it. If not, find silver in the mines instead, which is on any floor. If you don't want to upgrade, keep reading.) So, while you wait for your watering can, clear your field as best you can and start digging with your hoe. Your plots should look something like this. ********* ********* * = tilled ground. ********* *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** Why are they so close together? Well, that is where the Harvest Sprites come in. Go to their house as soon as possible, and ask half of them to water your crops for one day. Now go to the super market (make sure it isn't closed before you ask them to work) and buy Sweet Potato seeds. One for each 3x3 plot you made. They're not that expensive to buy, but they grow fast and and keep producing sweet potatoes. Plant them and water the seeds yourself. However, if you have a level three watering can, you can water them yourself. It will be energy draining, but you can save time and keep the Harvest Sprites' affection up. Now, the Harvests Sprites you asked to water your crops will come the next day. They will slack off for a while all day, but they WILL finish the job eventually, so don't worry about it. Take care of your animals and harvest things from the forest for a while. At about 1PM, run to the Harvest Sprites' home and ask the other half of them to water your plants for one day. You need to keep switching halves to water your crops. Why? If you ask them all to work for 3 days or a week, their heart levels will drop. If you give them a schedule like this: work, rest, work, rest, work, rest, they will be happy. If you make them work every day, they will become angry and won't work for you anymore. Save your game each time you go to bed if it is before 5. At least when the Sweet Potatoes look ready to ripen. If you see the next day the are ripe, reset the game, tell one half of the Harvest Sprites to harvest, and then go to bed. Keep telling one half to water each day, and every 2 days or so, tell one half to harvest. At the end of fall, cut all of the grass you have and put your cow(s) and chicken(s) inside. You will need at least 40 animal fodder for each cow, and about 30 chicken feed for each chicken. You should be quite rich by now. When Winter comes around, you will make most of your profits from your animals and mining. You will have plenty of free time on your hands, so you will be able to start working on one of the women you intend to marry. Also, if you have a lot of money, (around 40,000 gold) buy a cow or two. You will then also have to buy additional fodder for each cow. There should be about 4 Saturdays in Winter, and each time a Saturday comes around, watch television. Push left on the d-pad and watch that show. They should be selling items, such as a kitchen, cabinet. If not, you will need to upgrade your house at Gotz's place. He is in the screen below your farm. If you're extremely rich, you can buy the lumber from Gotz instead of getting it yourself. It will take Gotz three days to upgrade your house. Spring will come again, and though you may have lost some money by upgrading your house and buying more animals, you will quickly get your money back in summer by planting those pineapple seeds again. They may take 20 days to grow, but they are well worth it. But the most important rule of harvesting pineapples, or any other produce for that matter is - CHECK IF IT IS A HOLIDAY. If it's a holiday, Zach won't come pick up your goods. And to think, all of those milk and eggs and produce, gone. It takes time and effort to do this, but it is well worth it in the end. You will be able to buy everything from tv and afford that 100,000,000 gold and 999 lumber costing cabin by the end of year 2. The methods are a little weak, but what I have below is not... -Money Making Selling Stuff! These are the things that you either get a lot for or grow really fast. *Sweet Potatoes *Pineapples *Green Peppers See the Cheats section for more information about the above three plants Got your own method of making money? If you have a question about marriage (in this game of course!!!), don't hesitate to email me. I can't tell you how many of my guide related emails are about marriage (in this game of course!!!). Pretty much every email is either about marriage or about animals. Here is what is required to get married *Big House *Big Bed *Seen all of the heart events (don't have to be in order) Married: Step 1- Picking a bride to be Pick a girl that you want. What I do is, since I'm always trying to get married earlier and earlier in the game, I pick a girl whose likes I can find. What I mean is, if its summer, I would go for Ann or Karen because they like wild berries, and those are only available in the Summer. It's just easier that way. So I have the following set up so you can see what they like and all that jazz. Name: Ann Birthday: Summer, 17 Location: Inn, Near the hot spring Likes: Chocolate, wild berries, Animals, Egg Dishes, Curry Rice, Strawberry Milk, Sandwich, Rice Cake, Diamond, Pink Diamond, Perfume. (Also try buying something from the bar everyday ) Competition: Cliff Name: Karen Birthday: Fall, 15 Location: Store (after 1 PM), outside of the store (Until around 9 AM), by the hot spring Likes: Bamboo shoots, wine, wild berries, flowers, popcorn Competition: Rick Name: Elli Birthday: Spring, 16 Location: Clinic (Hospital), Super Market Likes: Almost all foods Competition: The Doctor Name: Mary Birthday: Winter, 20 Location: Building next to library, In the library, Super Market Likes: Mostly any type of grasses(not weeds!!)and chocolate Competition: Gray Name: Popuri Birthday: Summer, 3 Location: Poultry Farm, Near the hot springs Likes: Scrambled eggs, omelet, eggs, omelet rice, strawberry recipes, dress, perfume, diamonds, spa boiled eggs Competition: Kai --- Step 2- Giving to your girl By using the chart above, you can see what the girl of your dreams likes. Then you can give them their favorite gifts. This will raise their heart level. Step 3- Giving the feather This is one of the many things that I like about the Harvest Moon games. They are consistent with using the blue feather. Unlike other items, this one has remained unaltered! Before you can give her the feather, you must have a red heart. Here is the heart chart! I know it was a little messed up in previous versions, but I fixed it. Phew. Black Purple Blue Green Yellow Orange |
