Veran: Part 1
Veran's battle is split into three parts. The first of these plays a lot like the last
time you met her (when you freeed Nayru). Use the Mystery Seed to stun her, then use the
Long Switch to displace her, then run in and swing with your Sword.
Two things have changed. Firstly, Veran is much quicker and wary of you getting too near.
Secondly, she's got spiders at her command now which will try to slow you down. Hack them
out of your way to get to her andd use the pattern described above to beat this form. Once
you do, Veran will split from Ambi and get much uglier.
Veran: Part 2
Veran has turned into an insect, and she's surrounded herself with four circling Link
golems. These move counter to your movement, so be careful to avoid them.Veran will float
around the room and pepper you with fireballs. To deal with her golems, hack at them with
the Sword like you did with the Hardhat Beetles during the Restoration ceremonies. This
will pack them into a group and make them easier to deal with.
Move to the periphery to take on Veran. She likes to flit from one side of the room to the
other, and she's easier to hit if you aren't in the center. As you're moving around
avoiding fireballs, charge your Sword. That way, when the bug gets near you, you can
really let her have it with the Sword. Once you whack her six times with spin attacks,
she'll transmute again. You've won! Nope... even though you take the ceremony outside, a
Wallmaster snatches you and plops you down into a dank dungeon.
Veran: Part 3
Veran is ticked off now. She's fully shifted into her beastly form, which breaks down into
three insect flavors. She'll freely change between them during the course of the fight and
you'll need to know how to handle them all. You'll know when she's about to die, because
she will shift forms much faster. Have at it!
Beetle Form
As the Beetle, Veran likes to pound the ground by leaping in the air and smashing anything
below her. Your job is to avoid the shadow as it's coming down, but to be close enough to
strike when she falls. When she lands, she'll show her face for a second. Hit her mug with
your Sword until she balls up and repeats the pounding or changes forms.
Spider Form
The Spider form is hard to predict simply because Veran has a large range of motion. She
can disappear and attack from above or shoot webs at you from across the room. Keep your
distance, but don't get as far away as the opposite end of the room. Whenever she lands,
use a Bomb to sting her, bringing out her face. When it's exposed, run in and swipe at it
with the Sword.
Bee Form
When Veran switches to the Bee fom, she'll gain a lot of speed. You'll have to watch out
for long-range stinger attacks. Avoid these by dropping to the bottom of the room and
moving laterally to dodge them. She'll also try to encircle herself with smaller bees.
Treat this like the very first Mini-Boss you faced in the game. Kill her bees to get to
her. Lastly, shell charge at you and simply try to damage you with her body. Don't get
crowded into a corner, or you'll take m***ive damage.
Your best bet with the Bee is to move around the room, avoiding her attacks and getting a
swat in from time to time. It's likely that Veran won't remain the Bee for long. You can
also hit this form with the Seed Shooter, so keep that in mind if you want to attack from
distance.
Be prepared for any form at any time. Keep your Seed Shooter and Sword handy and just stay
on your toes, and you'll be the victor. When Veran dies, you will have saved the world.
Celebrate, Link, you big stud.
