I've been an average FAQ writer(I think) and am actually be writing one for a long time already so it won't be a matter if you're hoping to find the guide as useful as it would be. I've been trying to bring out the best in every guide I create and I'm hoping that you not only find the guide comprehensive but at the same time entertaining. Entertaining to a point that you won't feel tired of reading them and just keep reading at the same time. The guide is created for you to freely move around yourself. I won't be ordering you to do this or do that but merely suggestions as to at least beat a level/boss/stage/something. Medabots could fairly be compared to Pokemon or any other games at the same leage. It features a rather strong battling system and a very unique and fully customized creature/character system that allows you to fully set-up your bots to the way/style you like them to be. Strategies may vary from that. Medabots is rather a short story and would center mostly on the main character much like the main protagonist of the Pokemon cartoon. Let's roll... *-*-*-*-*-*-* * Revisions * *-*-*-*-*-*-* June 27, 2003 (06.28.03) Version 1 ---------------------------------- - It's basically what the FAQs is composed of. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- * E-Mail/Contacts Policy - *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Why'd I suddenly summon a E-Mail/Contacts Policy section? Simply to categorize every mail that I've been recieving from those that are possibly either a Virus or something bad. I would suggest you follow the following things below so as to quickly get a reply off the day or two after you mailed me. Yes! I'm that quick on replying mails as I don't want my Inbox to be so filled and to make my browser go faster when checking things out. Anyway here are the list of Do's and Don'ts doing something that is on either the Do's/Don'ts list will seriously affect the odds of you getting a reply so I suggest you follow them as simple rules are applied. *- E-Mails -* Do’s and Dont's --------------- 1. Only send me questions that can't be found on my guide. I will be more happy to help you in this case. 2. Try to be specific in defining something or when stating what had happened. So I won't be e-mailing you back for some questions that'll simply consume our precious time. 3. I won't be accepting or be opening any mails that has attachments. 4. Check the latest version of the guide before sending in any questions, chances are that your question might be answered in the newest version of the guide. 5. If I happen to not reply after three or so days than e-mail me again nicely and I'll reply ASAP. 6. You must label your mail with the game title whether a submission or a question (E.I. FFX-2 or just FFX-2 for questions or inquiries). 7. Don't be persistent, don't e-mail me the very same question that I've already answered. 8. Don't send me nonsense e-mails like "How much is..." "Can you buy me this?" 9. Be nice! Don't use bad words in your mail. 10. No Chain Mails! Doing anything that isn't allowed will automatically make your address be blocked from any future mail you might possibly send. *- MSN CONTACT -* Do’s and Dont's --------------- 1. You're freely able to add me into your contact list. 2. You should take the initiative to introduce yourself if you've managed to catch me online. This is done by simply stating which game guide you've got my contact (e.i. FFX-2, Harvest Moon Advance 2 etc...) 3. Ask questions ASAP! 4. No Spamming! 5. Please don't use bad words! 6. Don't send me any files over MSN. MSN contacts that are inactive after 2 weeks will be removed from my list. You can just add me again or e-mail me if you've got any other inquiries. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- *- Game Basics - *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- *- -* *- Game Controls -* *- -* Normal ------ D-pad - Move about/scroll through menus. You must aim to take your opponent's medabot's head life down to 0. Taking it to such number is rather not that easy sometimes you're needed to deplete his other medaparts to be able to target the head right away. Attacks are done in three ways depending on how you equip your medabot. It could either attack with it's head, left arm or right arm each could be equiped with different medaparts. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *- Walkthrough -* *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* The walkthrough is separated into parts or based on what you should be doing. Titles are created for them and note that they aren't actually that needed though I think it would be amusing in such a way. Game scripts will be added into the walkthrough as well. Just to make you read a lot more! Game Scripts are always situated right before the actual guide. And is indicated through cut lines, you may or may not read the game scripts but I warn you it contains a hell lot of spoilers. * - Note I'm guessing that the Rokusho is the same as the Metabee this guide is written based under a Metabee Version of the game. - - - - - - - - - SPOILERS BEWARE! SPOILERS BEWARE! SPOILERS BEWARE! SPOILERS BEWARE! The New Begining ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ikki: Good afternoon! Guy1: Good afternoon. Did you come by to see Dr. Aki again? Ikki: Yup! Guy1: Well you should go check his office all the way in the back. Ikki: Okay, thanks a lot! Ikki: Good afternoon, Dr. Aki. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Dr. Aki: Hmm? Oh, it's you. You come here quite a lot. Don't you know I'm always busy? um. . . uh. . . Ikki: Dr. Akiii! You always forget my name! I'm. . . Dr. Aki: Oh, of course! You're Ikki. But I'm busy so I can't spend to much time with you. Ikki: But I wanna learn more about Medabots! Dr. Aki: Okay, okay. If you really meant that, then it'd be best to go visit my granddaughter Nae's research room. Ikki: Your granddaughter? Dr. Aki: My granddaughter NAe has been helping me ever since she was little. She knows almost as much as I do about Medabots. Ikki: Really? Yay! Okay, well, I guess I'll be going! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Guy2: I told you this room was off limits, kid! Ikki: Um, is this room. . . Guy2: We've got some very important research in progress here. Only those with proper clearance are. . . Nae: What's going on here? Guy2: Ah. . . My apologies, Miss Nae. This kid was trying to get into the room without permission, so I was just. . . Ikki: Um. . . I . . . Nae: Pleased to meet you. My name is Nae, what's your name? Ikki: Nice to meet you. My name is Ikki. Guy2: Nae is Dr. Aki's granddaughter. She's well known throughout the Medabot world as the authority on all things that are related to Medabots. Ikki: Wow, that's amazing! Nae: Let us drop the formalities, shall we? So, do you like Medabots? Ikki: Yup! Nae: Well then, do you want to come see my research lab? Ikki: Wha!? Are you sure it's okay? Guy2: Miss Nae! Surely you can't be serious about showing such important research to a kid! Nae: I really don't mind. So, shall we go Ikki? Ikki: Okay! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Nae: The 4 Medabots over there are the new "Elemental Series" that we are developing now. Ikki: Elemental Series? I've never heard of that before on "Medabots Weekly". Nae: Actually, it's still a secretO Ikki: Holy Medaroli! I get to see them before everyone! Nae: We're not finished with them yet, so they aren't fully functional. But you can go see them for yourself. Ikki: Oh no! Look at the time! I'd better hurry up and get home! "Medabots Weekly" is gonna start! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Ikki: I'm home. Mom: Where did you go? You always just disappear on me. Ikki: Later! I've gotta run! Mom: Hold on! Salty: Arf Arf! Ikki: Hi Salty, I'm home. Oh man! I've gotta hurry and turn on the the TV before it comes on. Ikki: It's TV time! Whew! Looks like I made it just in the nick of time. Ikki: It's so great. If only I had a Medabot of my own. . . Salty: Arf Arf! Ikki: You think so too, Salty? Ikki: Wha? Mommmm! Mom: If you've got time to sit and watch TV, then you've got time to go down to the Hopmart and pick up some Spice-A-Roni for tonight's dinner. Ikki: Maaaan. Mom: Do you have a problem? Ikki: Okay. Okay. Mom: I don't have any change, so here's a L50 bill. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Owner: You idiotic fool!! Why in the world did you buy such expensive Medaparts without permission!? Just WHAT are you gonna do with them? Henry: Well. . . Owner: What do you mean "Well"!? I said "What are you going to do!" Henry: Yeah, I wonder what I should do with them. Owner: If you want to keep your job, you'd better figure it out! Henry: Man, my boss can be such a jerk sometimes. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Ikki: Excuse me. Henry: Oh, can I help you? A Medabot? I have a great one for you. Ikki: Um. . .no, I need Spice-A-Roni. . . Henry: I've got a sweet deal on a totally awesome Kabuto model here! Your friends definitely won't have THIS! You'll be the coolest kid in town! Ikki: Um. . . I. . . Henry: So how much do you have? L50? Perfect! I'll give you a great deal on the whole set for L49.80! Okay, all set! I'll even throw in a Tinpet. Henry: Now you're a Medafighter! So what's your name anyway? Mine's Henry. What's yours? Ikki: Well, I'm Ikki, but. . . Henry: Ikki huh? That's a great name for a Medafighter, don't ya think? Well, now you're all ready to make your big debut in the Robattle world! Henry: Okay, I've decided on that boy! Is that okay, Professor? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Mom: Where's the Spice-A-Roni, Ikki? Ikki: Um. . . uh. . . Mom: What's that box you have there? Ikki: Waah! T-that's! Mom: I can't believe you did this! You don't mean that you bought a toy with our dinner money!? Ikki: I did. . . Mom: Go think about it in your room! Ikki: Okay. . . Ikki: Wow, she was really mad. Salty: Arf Arf! Ikki: (Sigh) Are you gonna cheer me up, Salty? Salty: Wooof? Ikki: Well, I may be stuch here, but I should at least open the box. Ikki: This goes with this and this goes with. . . All done! Huh? It's not moving? What's wrong? Oops! I forgot the most important part! Sniff... sniff... Salty: Arf Arf! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Masked Man: Bwa ha ha ha ha! Dad: What? Dad: W-who are you! I-if you want money, I'm broke! Phantom Renegade: Do not fear. It is I! The Phantom Renegade! I have come to bring you a present. Dad: ???? The Phantom who? PR: Bwa ha ha ha ha! It doesn't matter! Take this Medal! Give this to your child! Present this to your boy!! Put this near his pillow while he is asleep!!! Any way you want, just give it to him! Farewell! Dad: What was that all about? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Dad: I'm home, Ikki. Oh! Isn't that a Medabot? Ikki: Dad. . . Dad: Could this be the reason why your Mother is all bent out of shape? Ikki: Yeah. . . Dad: Let me see. Oh, there's no Medal inside there. He can't move without a Medal. It's called a Medabot because of the Medals, you know. See, we put the Medal in just like this. . . Tah-dah! Ikki: Whoa! It moved! Dad: Next you need to have a Medawatch to command your Medabot. Here, look what Daddy got you. Ikki: Wowwwwwww!! Thanks a lot, Dad! Dad: Ha ha ha. Looks like you're all better now. Ikki: All right! From now on if I press the B Button I can open the menu! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! COMING SOON! COMING SOON! COMING SOON! COMING SOON! COMING SOON! COMING SOON! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! After the conversation head up for the door then take a quick left on the first clear path to your left. Talk to Dr. Aki there. After another conversation decide what your name (note that I'll refer to the lead as Ikki as it's his default name) now head outside that area and just walk past the guy in glasses that's just standing guard near the door on the north. After the conversation head into that door and talk to Nae. She'll tell you things about Medabots! Cool! Now you could check all those four cool looking Medabots once you're ready for the real thing exit the building and run down south and enter the little read house in the corner. Then run up to your room not noticing your mom and do what you should do! WATCH TV! Now after that short tutorial about Medabots another scene with mom will take place and you'll recieve L50.00 for a 'Spice-A-Roni' for dinner. Now just go north and enter the shop-like house with a big sign rotating on top of it. Then after the scene talk to the guy in green apron. The one that's been scolded. And exit the shop after spending your money wisely. Simply return home afterwards to recieve your reward for using the money for a medabot instead of a Spice-A-Roni and then wait for the long scene. Luckily Dad is oh-so cool to make your bot run. Be happy and name your very first Medabot. School's cool! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now, exit your house and you'll be photographed by an old friend, Erika. Then she'll start Robattling. Just pick your only Medabot and start battling her. ********** Robattle 1 ********** Medafighter: Erika Medabot: Brass Medal: ? Item dropped: None Experience earned: 340+ exp points Overall stats: Variablehair 45/45 Patero Vulcan 25/25 Short Shot 25/25 Flaregather 45/45 Strategy: She's very easy just keep blasting her with your Head Attacks first then just change to either left or right arm attack. She's easy as for your first opponent. After battling her walk to the school and prepare for series of Robattle there. I suggest saving if you're not sure of what might happen. Then talk to Samantha he's the guy in blue and you'll battle his group even if you choose 'NO'. ********** Robattle 2 ********** Medafighter: Sloan Medabot: Totalizer Medal: Tortoise Item dropped:Tyranolaser/Megalser/Gigalaser/Rollertank Experience earned: 670+ exp points Overall stats: Tyranolaser 55/55 Megalaser 40/40 Gigalaser 40/40 Rollertank 120/120 Strategy: Sloan controls a very slow moving yet tough Medabot. His totalizer is really a tough nut to crack and just aim to destroy it's leg to make things run smoothly. His laser attack isn't a big deal. Just exhaust your Missile attack on him then just use your Chain Gun if it's still functional. Your Rifle could barely hit him but once you've destroyed most of his parts his almost worthless. ********** Robattle 3 ********** Medafighter: Spyke Medabot: Cyandog Medal: ? Item dropped:Linear Cannon, Snipe Rifle, Assault, Gunner Experience earned: 530+ exp points Overall stats: Linear Cannon 45/45 Snipe Rifle 40/40 Assault 40/40 Gunner 50/50 Strategy: He has a fast yet easily hit bot. Just keep on using your Missile attacks till it's exhausted. It should be enough to destroy his L/R Arms and Legs. Just hope that your R/L Arm attack's functional. Your Chain Gun's one of your main offense so keep that in mind if you're saving the Missile for the Chain Reaction effect. Chain Gun works best as well. ********** Robattle 4 ********** Medafighter: Samatha Medabot: Peppercat Medal: Queen Item dropped: Light Circuit, Light Jump, Light Blow, Quick Alert Experience earned: 440+ exp points Overall stats: Light Circuit 30/30 Light Jump 25/25 Light Blow 25/25 Quick Alert 40/40 Strategy: She could make use of her attacks that could prove lethal. Make use of your Rifle Attack as it's the only one that has a very high chance of hitting his bot then just use whatever if it's destroyed. Watchout for his attack that has a 'STOP MOBILITY' effect. After the battle you'll then walk away with the cheerful look but don't be so happy as Sam and his guys aren't. Now, they'll play you 3 on 1. And you're bot will somehow blast their bots apart. Erika will then leave you and go away as she'll have a story to tell the school. Just walk around school and you'll be in a random Medafight. I suggest you configure your Bot first before moving so you'll be at the best peak. I suggest you fight as much and earn as many parts as you can. The random battles do give a fairly decent experience for your Kabuto Medal. If you're ready enter the big door up north. BTW, just search around the school ground for different opponents like moving about in the stage, near the fences etc... This only raises the odds of findinh them though. Also, I suggest you evolve your Kabuto Medal around here before proceeding. ******************** Random Medabot Fight ******************** Medafighter: Boy Medabot: Kintaro Medal: Cat Item dropped: Sumo Press, Light Axe, Great Axe, Kinta Leg Experience earned: 595+ exp points Overall stats: Sumo Press 35/35 Light Axe 30/30 Great Axe 30/30 Kinta Leg 50/50 Strategy: He'll constantly attack you. Just keep fighting back. Use either your Chain Gun or Missile to deal big damage before you succumb to his bot. Medafighter: Girl Medabot: Churlybear Medal: Bear Item dropped: Spreader, Smasher, Splasher, Anti-Grav Experience earned: 420+ exp points Overall stats: Spreader 40/40 Smasher 35/35 Splasher 35/35 Anti-Grav 65/65 Strategy: Same as the boy but she is easier. Just don't use Strike attacks. Medafighter: 2-Leg Medabot Medabot: Krosserdog Medal: ? Item dropped: Head Cannon, Aim Rifle, Battle Rifle, Howzer Experience earned: 560+ exp points Overall stats: Head Cannon 45/45 Aim Rifle 40/40 Battle Rifle 40/40 Howzer 50/50 Strategy: Just keep on pummeling his bot. He won't do much damage. Now just head into the school and explore it a bit. Talk to everyone if you want. Head into the music room and talk to the guy on the upper left corner he's a Salaryman and he'll challenge you into a battle. This time it's a 2 against 1. Save before doing this and hope to get the Vulcan Part as it's the best R Arm part at the moment. Medafighter: Salary man Medabot: 2 Tankar Medal: ? Item dropped: Victory Armor, Vulcan, Gatling Gun, Armor Car Experience earned: 660+ exp points Overall stats: Victory Armor 85/85 Vulcan 45/45 Gatling Gun 45/45 Armor Car 65/65 Strategy: Now is when things get tricky. Save your missile for last and keep on using your Chain Gun or any weapon you've got best. You should just keep on attacking and attacking and use the Missile attack if everything's down. Just destroy the leader and you'll win. Now there's another boy in this floor who you can battle by just talking to him. If you're done with everything walk up the floor and check the room to the left. If you're looking for something new visit the girl's bathroom. The second floor has a boy who'll you can battle. Just talk to Erika and she'll tell you what to do next. What?! A Medafighter using Medabots to tickle girls? That sure is a problem >.< Hunting the Tickler ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Exit the school and a scene with Salty will greet you. Ikki will then be pleased with the new girl and gladly introduce himself (Wow! his full name's Ikki Tenryou). Karin is actually looking for some dude named Koji. Anyway, search around town. You may want to check out the shop as they're now open. Sell those medaparts that you won't be using(Just save one for the collection). I suggest you try to purchase the 'Grave' leg part. It's a good replacement for the default equipment though it is necessary to make the future battle easier. The only downside to this medabot head part is that it has a very low armor grade(25!) but it can evade attacks easily. Now, head to Miss Nae's room in the researc lab. I think you need to evolve your medal (level 10) for her to give you a present or you'll just have to have your first medabot(The Kabuto model would do) and she'll let you choose from 6 medals. After carefully chosing one head out and into the warehouse like building near the school. Erika will then stop you from entering and will tell you something about some new dude wreaking havoc in school. Run to school and see the 'Screw' group being messed up. They will then use their Plan B and run away. Run after them to the 2nd floor and you'll be pushed to battle 'Koji Karakuchi'. ********** Robattle 5 ********** Medafighter: Koji Medabot: Sumilidon Medal: Cat Item dropped: See Overall stats parts Experience earned: 460+ exp points Overall stats: Hunter 50/50 Flexsorsword 30/30 Straw Hammer 30/30 Sharpedge 45/45 Strategy: At the early going he'll set up a trap for Shot Attacks so before hand you should equip those weapons that isn't a shot base. He's rather easy if you avoid his traps. To easily beat him charge up on your MF to the max then unleash the Ultra Shot MF Attack. The first blow should destroy his R/L Arms and Legs or if you're lucky enough it only take a shot to destroy his head part. After the battle a very nice anime cutscene will follow and a long conversation is with that. Erika will then say soemthing like "The Journalist of the Future", Erika Amazake! which is rather a funny answer to a "Who are you?" question. Just follow her to her house and she'll make you wear a SKIRT! You'll be forced to wear the skirt and funny how Ikki look so girlie. You'll then be taken outside and see a rather funny scene. Try entering a house afterward to see Ikki's look anyway, just follow Erika to the warehouse and go in yourself. Inside you'll see the self-proclaimed 'Rubberobo Gang' in joy. Afterwards Karin will enter the building and seem to be lost herself. Anyway the gang will then try to tickle Ikki resulting to a battle. ********** Robattle 6 ********** Medafighter: Rubberobo Gang Medabot: Foxuno Medal: Cat Item dropped: See Overall stats parts Experience earned: 270+ exp points Overall stats: Foxarmor 35/35 Fencing 30/30 Rapier 30/30 Hakama 40/40 Strategy: The same as the Robattle 5 with Koji. Another silly sin will take place. Now Ikki calls himseld as the 'Medafighter of Justice. Go and talk to Erika in her place then go back to school again. Talk to Erika in school agian and go out. Another scene on the school grounds will take place. It's some kind of meeting with some ghost who took Medabots and Medaparts from them situated in Mt. Odoro. Erika will talk you into coming to the mountain again and you recieve a Town Map from her. In your room seach the book case for a pen light then walk out. But before that Dad will be spoiling you with a new Tinpet and a Lunch! Before moving install the new Tinpet with parts to make it functional. Use the Medal you got from Nae. Save after finalizing things. Exit north and meet up with Erika there. She'll then Robattle with you for a warm up. There ain't no ghost! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ********** Robattle 7 ********** Medafighter: Erika Medabot: Brass, Pretty Prime Medal: ?, Ninja Item dropped: See Overall stats parts Experience earned: 700+ exp points Overall stats: Brass (see Robattle 1) Overall stats: Pretty Prime Reflect Mirror 60/60 Don't Move 25/25 Shine Shield 85/85 Temple Master 40/40 Strategy: Erika will be battling a little better now. Though she'll simply be using a support skills so don't mind her attacks. Just keep on the offense and she'll be finished. I suggest you make your Kabuto Model keep on charging for Ultra Shot and just keep the other Medabot attacking. You'll meet and heat up with Ikuji. Luckily you won't be fihgting him. Anyway Off to Odoro pond! Medafighter: Medabot: Medal: Item dropped: See Overall stats parts Experience earned: 0+ exp points Overall stats: Tyranolaser 55/55 Megalaser 40/40 Gigalaser 40/40 Rollertank 20/20 Strategy: Opponent's possible attacks: Medafighter: Medabot: Medal: Item dropped: See Overall stats parts Experience earned: 0+ exp points Overall stats: Tyranolaser 55/55 Megalaser 40/40 Gigalaser 40/40 Rollertank 20/20 Strategy: COMING SOON!
