Version 1.0 This means I'm done with the Walkthrough, Pokedex, Breeding Compatability chart and all the other stuff to my knowledge! Wee-hee! =============================================================================== 3: Overview =============================================================================== [030] First there was Red and Blue, and their cousin Yellow. Then after a while we were blessed with Gold and Silver, soon after their cousin Crystal. Then came the GameBoy Advance, and the masses clamored for a new pokemon game. This wish was granted in the form of Pokemon Ruby and Saphire. But, Alas, they had no cousin. But, even though they had no cousin, everybody knew there was one in the oven. Some whined about Nintendo making too many pokemon games, but then again they whined about pretty much everything. So yeah, in here I have pretty much all you'll need to "master" Pokemon Emerald as well as be able to play the other versions with ease. If you are new to Pokemon, skip down to the type chart here:[T1.1] and study it. Trust me, it will help you a lot. Don't try to memorize the moves as the only thing that will do that is practice. If you feel like just leaping into the walkthrough, head here:[070] and you can get right down to the nitty-gritty! Have fun! =============================================================================== 4: Characters =============================================================================== [040] You: You can choose your gender in this game, something that I suppose doesn't make a whole lot of difference. our rival will be the gender you didn't choose, so I suppose one might care about that. You can be Brendan or May, I believe, if the names havn't been changed, but like I said, I don't know almost any Japanese. Professor Birch: Hes's the kind old dude who forget's your name and gives you your starter Pokemon in this game! Eventually you will save him from a Poochyena and he will feel soo grateful he'll give you the pokemon you used to do it! The rest of the characters coming once it comes out in the U.S. and I have a copy in my native language. =============================================================================== 5: FAQ =============================================================================== [050] Q: Which games have some sort of compatible linkup with this game? A: Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, and Pokemon Colosseum. Q: Would you rate *insert team/move set/IV set/EV training/ETC* A: No. Never ask me again. Q: I spotted an error. What can I do? A: E-mail me! Just include the phrase "Walkthrough Error" in the subject and it will be dealt with. Q: Would you stop the Q/A stuff please? A: Yes. More questions coming soon, as they happen! =============================================================================== 6: Playing the game =============================================================================== [060] ******************** [W0.1] Controls ******************** The controls are very Simple...they are also in the manual, but nobody ever reads the manual, so it's here. D-pad: Move your Character around the world A: Select a menu item/Interact with various things. B: Cancle/Back Start: Bring up menu. Select: Use registered item. R: Can be customized. L: Can be customized. =============================================================================== 7: Walkthrough =============================================================================== [070] Here you will find the walkthrough for the RPG mode of the game. NOTE: It is impossible for me to predict which pokemon you will use, how they will level up, or what moves you will or will not let them learn so it is near impossible for me to write a guide perfectly telling you what moves and pokemon to use where. That is up to you to do if you do not have the same moves as I have mentioned. That is only there to give you an idea of what to use. Also, I attempt not to spoil the plot too much but this is, after all, a walkthrough for the game. Don't read if you aren't prepared for spoilers. I will try to be as vague on plot details as possible without compromising the quality of the walkthrough. For instance, I will say "Talk to the guy in front of you and he will say some stuff." Rather than "Finally! the main villan of the game! Talk to him and he will tell you in a cutscene about how he is going to take over the world using weapon x!" I will only refer to a character by name if it won't spoil the plot, or if you already are familiar with the character. ===================== Game start! [W1.0] ===================== Okee-dokee, let's get started! For the purposes of this walkthrough we will be male and have a female rival. You will be prompted to enter your name so do so. When the game starts you will be inside a moving van. It will soon stop and you will be able to exit. Do so and your mom will come and usher you inside. You will have to go up and set the clock in your room, so do so. Once it's set she will come up and talk to you. Head downstairs and your mom will hurridly call you over to see the TV, but it will end as you get there. Head out and to the house across from you, and your rival's mom will talk to you after which you should head up the nearby stairs. Touch the pokeball to trigger an event with your rival, and she will get on the computer. Head down the stairs and outside and then head Up. As you exit an event will trigger, and Professor Birch will be chased around by a Poochyena. Run up and inspect his satchel to get your choice of starter pokemon. The pokeball on the left contains Treeco, the Grass type starter. The pokeball in the middle contains Torchic, the Fire type starter. Lastly, the pokeball on the right contains Mudkip, the water type starter. You can really choose which- ever one you want, but here is a list to help you choose. Treeco/Grass: Pros: - It is very strong against the first few gyms. - Highest speed of the three. - It's 3rd level evolution learns False Swipe, a very handy move for catching pokemon. Cons: - Grass type is weaker in the elete four and later gyms than the other types. - Not many powerful moves. Torchic/Fire: Pros: - Best, and only, fire type pokemon you will see for a while in this game. - Great attack, special attack, and decent speed. - Good moves. Cons: - Weak in first few gyms. - Takes a while to learn best moves. Mudkip/Water-Ground: Pros: - Excellent type combination - Higher HP than the other starters - Great moves. - Stronger in first gyms. Cons: - Quadruple weak against grass, a very common type starting out. - Takes a while to learn great moves. Here is an overview of the starters, their stats, moves, TM compatabilities, and such. 252 Treecko Lvl 5 starter pokemon in Ru/Sa 253 Grovyle Evolve from Treecko. You don't have to though, choose whichever one you want, but the closer you stick to what I have, the easier it will be to follow my walkthrough. Okay, now that you have your starter, you will be thrust into battle with the rabid Zigzagoon. ____________________ Forced battle! | Wild Pokemon! | Zigzagoon, Lvl 2. | ____________________| You only have one attack, Tackle, so spam it till Zigzagoon dies. After the battle is over, an event will occur with you and Professor Birch. You will be taken back to his lab and given the pokemon you picked, and allowed to name it. After naming it, head out. Head up to the top into Route 101. Head through the grass, making sure you battle enough enemies to level up once and get the move "Mud Slap." It shouldn't take more than one or two battles. Head up until you reach Oldale town and talk to the person in the apron to trigger a short event where the person will explain about shops and will give you a free potion. Head up some more, out of town to Route 103. Head up until you find your Rival and talk to her to trigger a battle. ____________________ Forced battle! | Rival! | 300 Poke-dollars | | If you picked Mudkip| Treeco Lvl 5 | If you picked Treeco| Torchic Lvl 5 | If you have Torchic | Mudkip Lvl 5 | ____________________| Now, you are outclassed in this battle, but that doesn't mean you will lose by any stretch. Use Mud Slap about three times to lower Treeco's accuracy, and then pound on it with Tackle until it goes down. It shouldn't cause you too much damage as it will usually miss you. After the battle is over your rival will depart South. Follow her and heal at the pokemon center and save. Head South to Littleroot town and enter the lab of Professor Birch. After some talking happens, Birch will give you the Pokedex and your rival will give you five pokeballs! Sweet! Key item obtained: Pokedex! Head North again, towards Route 101 and yourMom will stop you. She will give you some running shoes. To use these, hold B while moving, and your character will move at a very rapid rate. Head north to Oldale and stock up with potions and pokeballs and head West to Route 103. Pick the berries on your way to Petalburg City, and try to catch a Lotad - a good grass type - and a Zigzagoon on your way there. Your sigzagoon can randomly find berries, TMs, and other items after battle! Welcome to Petalburg! Save and use the PokeCenter and then head to the Local gym and talk to your dad. You will talk for a bit and then Wally will come in. You will head out with him shortly and observe him as he catches a wild Ralts. You will both head back and he will be all happy. Head West to trigger an event with a shady looking guy and continue West. Be sure to pick the berries and to fight the lady near the entrance to the forest for a whopping 1400 PokeDollars! Head into Petalburg Woods. Head through, nabbing the item on the left, and continue until you reach an event. A guy will ask you for help, and a Team Aqua Grunt will attack you. ____________________ Forced battle! | Aqua-Grunt | 180 Poke-dollars | | Poochyena Lvl 5 | ____________________| If you have your Mudkip up to level 10 use Water gun to tear it apart. Alternitavely, if you have your Lotad up to level 8, tear it apart with Absorb. Otherwise your Mud Slap on him to lower his accuracy and kill him. Aftertha battle you'e get an ultra ball and the guy's thanks. Head further North and keep going until you get out of the woods and get to Rustboro City. Now, make sure you're at least Level 10 with Mudkip before you try this gym, as Water Gun REALLY helps. The enemies in here have low Special Defense and are weak to it. If for some reason you decide to attack without it, use Mud Slap, as that's super effective against Rock. Also, Lotad can be of help if you leveled it up to 8 or above, using absorb! Okay, enter the gym. Head forwards to fight the first trainer. ____________________ Gym battle! | Trainer | 180 Poke-dollars | | Geodude Lvl 7 | ____________________| Use Water Gun once to own it. If you don't have Water Gun use Mudkip's Mud Slap or Lotad's Absorb to quickly take it down. Now, after making sure Mudkip and Lotad are in the #1 & 2 pokemon slots, walk left and up to be attacked by two trainers at once! ____________________ Gym battle! | Lad & Hiker | 448 Poke-dollars | | Geodude Lvl 8 | Geodude Lvl 8 | Geodude Lvl 8 | Geodude Lvl 8 | ____________________| At the start use Mudkip's Water Gun on the left Geodude to either KO it or severely damage it, depending on your level. Then use Lotad's Absorb on the other one to KO it also. They should both die without even being able to do much, if any, damage. Two more will come out and you will repeat to KO them both! Head up and attack the gym leader! ____________________ Gym battle! | Leader: Roxanne | 1500 Poke-dollars | TM39: Rock Tomb | | Geodude Lvl 12 | Geodude Lvl 12 | Nosepass Lvl 15 | ____________________| Make sure you attack with Mudkip and use Water Gun on the Geodude to KO it. The second Geodude will come out and be KO'd just like the first. Then comes Nosepass. Nosepass is pretty much impervious to physical violence, so you'll have to rely on Water Gun or Absorb to kill it off. Once you paste it, the battle is over! Congrats! You've just beaten your first gym! Key item obtained: ??? Badge! After the battle, head outside and towards the PokeCenter. After a short chase scene, save and heal! ===================== After First Badge [W1.1] ===================== Head out of the pokemon center and head into the house just to the left. Talk to the man inside and he will give you your first HM, Cut! I would advise teaching it to a pokemon, so you'll be able to cut trees down. Now head right and up from the pokemon center and enter the school. Talk to the teacher for a quick claw. Head North to the top of Rustboro, and head East out of the town. You will be stopped by a guy and after hearing what he has to say, continue East to Route 116. You can battle the trainers here for some EXP and money if you like. If you'd rather just continue on then use the find feature to skip here: [Next001] Otherwise, commence the battling. Head down and grab the item then fight the bugcatcher guy. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Bugcatcher ??? | 128 Poke-dollars | | Wurmple Lvl 8 | Nincada Lvl 8 | ____________________| Break out your Tailow and have it use Peck to take out both bug types. You will likely want to level up Tailow, as it can be a very valuable pokemon later. If you didn't catch one, I'd advise going back and doing so. Otherwise just use Water Gun with Mudkip. Head right and fight the schoolgirl. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Schoolgirl ??? | 180 Poke-dollars | | Shroomish Lvl 9 | ____________________| Simply have Tailow use Peck on Shroomish until it dies. Alternatly, just use Lotad to battle it. Now head up and left and fight the youngster. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Youngster ??? | 144 Poke-dollars | | Machop Lvl 9 | ____________________| Once more, break out the Tailow and peck it to death. If you don't have Tailow then simply use Mudkip or Lotad and a special type move, like Water Gun or Absorb. Head right and fight the Youngster on top. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Youngster ??? | 128 Poke-dollars | | Shroomish Lvl 8 | Lotad Lvl 8 | ____________________| Tailow comes out again and wails on the competition with peck. Shroomish and Lotad are both really weak and shold die in no more than two pecks. Alternatly use your Lotad on them, with cut. Now fight the Hiker just a little bit down. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Hiker ??? | 128 Poke-dollars | | Geodude Lvl 8 | ____________________| Use either your Lotad and Absorb or your Mudkip and Water gun to take down his lone Geodude. Head upwards and challenge the second Hiker. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Hiker ??? | 320 Poke-dollars | | Geodude Lvl 8 | Geodude Lvl 8 | ____________________| Okay, Head up and head to the left of the Blackbelt guy near the building and have one of your pokemon use Cut on the tree. Once you're past it, Head up and right and you will be challenged by two trainers. ____________________ 2x Trainer battle! | Rich Boy ??? | Lady ??? | 3200 Poke-dollars | | Zigzagoon Lvl 8 | Poochyena Lvl 8 | | Lotad Lvl 8 | ZigZagoon Lvl 8 | ____________________| Okay, make sure you have Tailow out and have her use peck on Lotad. Have your Mudkip out, and have it use Water Gun on the Zigzagoon. Once they drop, use Peck on the Poochyena and again use Water Gun on the Zigzagoon. Repeat until they drop. Grab the item and head left and a little up. Don't cut the tree but instead head left and battle the two trainers. ____________________ 2x Trainer battle! | Male Trainer ??? | Female Trainer ??? | 324 Poke-dollars | | Ralts Lvl 9 | | Marill Lvl 9 | ____________________| Have Mudkip use his Mudshot/Mudslap move on Ralts to KO it and have your Lotad Absorb from Marill. They should go down in a breeze. Head left and use cut to get through to where the item and the Berries are. Pick all the berries adn grab the item and go back to where the Blackbelt is next to the house. Head right and go past the cave to grab the item. [Next001] Now, by this point you should have aproximatly the following levels on your key pokemon so far: Marshtomp, Level 16. If you havn't evolved your starter at least once, fight in the grass until he does. Make sure to learn Mudshot. Tailow, Level 13. If you havn't yet, level up until you do, and make sure to learn Wing Attack. Lotad, Level 12. If you havn't yet, do so. With this done, head into the cave. Head up and grab the item, then head right and a battle will ensue. ____________________ Forced battle! | Aqua-Grunt | 220 Poke-dollars | | Poochyena Lvl 11 | ____________________| If you've followed my instructions, this battle should be simple. Once Mudshot from Marshtomp, and Poochyena goes down! Once you beat him, he will be supprised and hand over the Devon Goods, and Peeko will be freed. He will flee and Mr. Briney will come and leave with Peeko to his house. You don't have Rock Smash yet so you can't continue, so head back to Rustboro. Talk to the guy that spoke to you as you left and he will take you to see the president of Devon. After getting the PokeNav and the Letter, head out of the building. A Scientist will stop you and give you his phone number. You will be forced to call him, so do so. Now head to the local Pokecenter and heal before saving. ===================== After The PokeNav [W1.2] ===================== Organize your pokemon here and place Lotad in the front. It will serve as sort of as sacrifice to waken Wingull. Once that's done, head South out of town and you will be challenged by your rival. You will get your rival's phone number and an option to battle. You can skip this battle if you wish, but it has some good exp. ____________________ Rival battle! | Rival! | 900 Poke-dollars | | Starter Lvl 15 | Wingull Lvl 13 | ____________________| As soon as the battle starts, have Lotad constantly use Absorb. Wingull is Water adn Flying types so the attack will be of normal power. Wingull will use Growl and Supersonic a lot until it has used growl about 4 times. at that point it will start using Wing Attack, at which point Lotad it pretty much screwed. But if you've used Lotad you will be able to take off between all of and 3/4 of Wingull's health. If you go down first bring out Tailow and finish the job with a nice quick attack. If it goes down first, switch out to Tailow and use Wing attack on Treeko. Once you've won, Heal if needed and head back through the Petalburg woods. Head into the building near the dock. This is Mr. Briney's place, and he's happy that you saved his beloved Peeko! He will offer you a ride, and you should accept. Halfway through, you will get a phone call. After that you'll pull into Dewford. Head into the nearby gym and prepare for battle! Okay, from the right square of the carpet near the door, here is the path to take. Up x5 Right x6 Down ____________________ Gym battle! | Female Trainer ??? | 312 Poke-dollars | | Meditite Lvl 13 | ____________________| This one's simple. Have Tailow out in the front and take out Meditite with Wing Attack! Simple as pie! Sweet! Your field of vision expanded! From here, take this path: Up x4 Right x3 Up Right Up x6 ____________________ 2x Gym battle! | Sailor ??? | Female Trainer ??? | 728 Poke-dollars | | Machop Lvl 13 | | Meditite Lvl 13 | ____________________| Another fairly simple battle. Have Marshtomp and Tailow out and simply use Wing attack on Machop and Water Gun on Meditite. They should both go down quickly. Your field of vision will increase again, and you will be able to see more. Now, head this way: Down x6 Left Down Left x4 Up x5 Left x6 Down x2 Left x2 ____________________ Gym battle! | BlackBelt ??? | 416 Poke-dollars | | Machop Lvl 13 | ____________________| Another easy battle. Try to have tailow at LEAST at level 15. Okay, when it starts you will be against Machop. Use Wing attack to mostly kill him off. He may or may not attack, but he will be almost dead. Use Wing attack again, as the Gym Leader will heal him up. One more Wing Attack will kill him. Now Meditite will come out. Just Wing Attack it once to kill it and repeat for Makuhita. Meditite has lower defense than Machop and should go down easily. Makuhita it a higher level and tougher so it might pose a threat, but if you're lucky you won't even lose Tailow. If it managed to KO Tailow, simply switch out for Marshtomp and use Mud Shot. After the battle collect your Badge and TM and take a trip to the poke center to heal up and save your game. ===================== After Second Badge [W1.3] ===================== Head to the North of town and battle the Fisherman. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Fisherman ??? | 440 Poke-dollars | | Tentacool Lvl 11 | ____________________| Have Lotad Absorb out his Health, or if you don't want to risk the poison's effectiveness, just have your Marshtomp Mudshot it. From here head Left. You can either head into the cave or you can fight this fisherman for a little bit of free EXP and money. He only has Magikraps. And, no, that's not a typo. >_> ____________________ Trainer battle! | Fisherman ??? | 400 Poke-dollars | | Magikarp Lvl 10 | Tentacool Lvl 7 | Magikarp Lvl 10 | ____________________| Okay, inside the cave, Talk to the Hiker for HM05 which is Flash! Cool! You will want to teach this to your Lotad. It, along with Zigzagoon will be your HM slave for now! Head left and grab the item. Head down the ladder and use flash to illuminate the cave. As you are running around here you may run into Abra. It is really hard to get, as it teleports away on it's first turn. If you feel lucky it you can save and keep trying to get one. If you have Ultra balls, as you should if you followed the path I have layed out, then it shouldn't be a problem. You could also try to catch a sableye here. At any rate, it's really optional, but Kadabra and Sableye are good pokemon for now. If you don't catch an Abra now, make sure you do before you leave the Island. From the ladder you should head up and right until you reach the fork. Head down and grab the item, then head back up and continue right. Use the ladder and then head up and left. When you reach the stairs, head up then right until you see a rock that is grey as opposed to brown. Walk up and examine it for an item. Head down and continue right until you see the ladder and then take it up to the next lavel. Head left and go up the ladder to reach the next level. You will notice that it's no longer dark. Head left until you reach the end and then head down through the light door. Talk to the character there and you will recieve Steel Wing, which is TM47, and will deliver the letter to him. He will leave, so head out and then head right down the cliffs and right till you reach the cave exit. If you havn't already, go catch an Abra, it's quite helpful! Now, go talk to Mr. Briney and you will be able to go to Slateport city so head there. Once you arrive, you will be able to battle many trainers on the beach. You can to it if you want, otherwise, skip here: [Next002] Talk to the girl to your right for an item and head left to fight the Sailor. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Sailor ??? | 400 Poke-dollars | | Wingull Lvl 12 | Machop Lvl 12 | ____________________| Have your Tailow come out and Quick Attack the Wingull to death and then have it use wing attack to kill Machop. Talk to the girl under the red tent above you for another battle. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Girl Tuber ??? | 052 Poke-dollars | | Marill Lvl 13 | ____________________| Have Lotad Absorb Marill to death to end this easy battle! Head two spaces left of the girl to fight a double trainer battle. You can also fight them seperatly if you wish. ____________________ Trainer x2 battle! | Sailor ??? | Boy Tuber ??? | 468 Poke-dollars | | Wingull Lvl 13 | | Zigzagoon Lvl 13 | ____________________| Use Mudshot to kill off Zigzagoon and have Tailow Quick Attack Wingull to death before it can confuse either of you. Head North and you will get a phone call. After you've gotten it, head north and walk between girl under the red tent and the boy under the tent to the right of it and you will fight a double battle. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Girl Tuber ??? | Boy Tuber ??? | 096 Poke-dollars | | Azuril Lvl 12 | Azuril Lvl 12 | | Tentacool Lvl 12 | Tentacool Lvl 12 | ____________________| Use Mudshot on the Tentacools to annihilate them both and have Lotad use Absorb on the Azurils. GRab the item and head up and left to the building and head inside. Fight the girl a little above you. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Beauty ??? | 1040 Poke-dollars | | Goldeen Lvl 13 | ____________________| Simply have Lotad use Absorb to quickly kill goldeen off and claim the cash. Head down and right to fight the boy tuber. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Boy Tuber ??? | 048 Poke-dollars | | Azuril Lvl 12 | Marill Lvl 12 | ____________________| Again, use Lotad to absorb his pokemon to death. Head left and up to battle the sailor. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Sailor ??? | 352 Poke-dollars | | Wingull Lvl 11 | Machop Lvl 11 | Tentacool Lvl 11 | ____________________| first, have Tailow out and use quick attack on Wingull to kill it off. Then use Wing Attack on Machop to take it out. When you see Tentacool, just switch out to Marshtomp and use MudShot to kill it. Now, talk to the last guy for a free prize and head out and into Slateport! [Next002] Head up into the far North of the town and enter the really fancy looking round building. Talk to the sailor for TM41, Torment, and head back to where that big crowd of Team Aqua members were. Head into the building just South of there and talk to the scientist that is examining a blueprint on the table just North of you. Now head back outside and go up. Note that the crowd of people isn't here anymore, so head inside. You will be charged 50 Poke-dollars to go inside, so fork over the cash! Talk to the Team Aqua member right in front of you and he will give you TM 46, which is Thief, before fleeing like a wuss. Walk upstairs and talk to the Scientist. Oh Noes! Two Team Aqua Members will storm in and attack! ____________________ Forced battle! | Aqua Grunt ??? | 300 Poke-dollars | | Carvanha Lvl 15 | ____________________| This one is simple, just have Lotad use Absorb on it until it dies! ____________________ Forced battle! | Aqua Grunt ??? | 280 Poke-dollars | | Zubat Lvl 14 | Carvanha Lvl 15 | ____________________| This is exactly the same as the first battle, only he has a zubat, which you should take out with your Marshtomp. Now that you have beaten Team Aqua here, you will make your delivery and be thanked, after you tolerate an exceedingly long speil from a Team Aqua Captain. Head outside for a scene with a character you may recognize from Petalburg, and go to the PokeCenter to heal up and save. HEad up and attempt to enter the building that you got the TM41 from and you will get another quick scene. Split town North and head into the grass. Level up here until you achieve the following: - Catch a Gulpin (Optional) - Catch a Poochyena (Optional) - Catch an Oddish (Optional) - Catch a Plusle (Optional but a helpful Electric type when paired with Minun) - Catch a Minun (Optional but a helpful Electric type when paired with Plusle) - Catch an Electrike (Optional, but a helpful Electric type) - Have at least one electric type Pokemon in your party. - Starter Reaches Lvl 22 or above. - Lotad reaches level 14 or above and evolves to Lombre. - Abra Reaches Level 16 and Evolves to Kadabra. Once you have done that, minus the optional parts, head onwards for a scene! After it is over, set your first two pokemon to Marshtomp and Kadabra, then continue North for a battle. ____________________ Forced x2 battle! | PokeFan M ??? | PokeFan F ??? | 2240 Poke-dollars | | Minun Lvl 14 | Plusle Lvl 14 | | Plusle Lvl 14 | Minun Lvl 14 | ____________________| Simply have Marshtomp use Mudshot one one trainer's Pokemon and have Abra use Confusion on the same one. Take out one trainer's pokemon completely because they both have a Plusle and a Minun. Plusle and Minun's attacks are multiplied in power by 1.5 when there is the opposite polarity pokemon in the battle with them. (e.g. if Minun were in a battle paired with a Plusle, Both Plusle and Minun's attacks would do 150% damage while if Minun were in a battle paired with another Minun, it's attacks would only do 100% damage.) Once they are dea, take out the other trainer's pokemon. Ahead of you is the trick house. Inside you can win valuable prizes for solving puzzles! For those of you who couldn't be bothered to solve them, I will. Refer to the Trick house section in my guide. If you want EXP and money, head left and fight the trainers blocking your way. If you want to skip this, jump to: [Next003] ____________________ Trainer battle! | Aroma Girl ??? | 560 Poke-dollars | | Shroomish Lvl 14 | Roselia Lvl 14 | ____________________| Use Kadabra and Confusion to annihilate both these poison types! ____________________ Trainer x2 battle! | Twins ??? | 320 Poke-dollars | | Plusle Lvl 14 | Minun Lvl 14 | ____________________| Simply repeat the process from above. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Pokefan ??? | 1200 Poke-dollars | | Skitty Lvl 15 | ____________________| As Skitty only has Normal type attacks, now would be a good time to haul out that Sableye if you caught it and cream him with immunity...I mean impunity. Otherwise just use A pokemon of your choice to nail it. If you had a Wailord with you wou could stick it on the Skitty...But that wouldn't work. The Skitty would need to be stuck on the Wailord! That's a GameFAQs joke. Anyways... Head back and up if you like and use cut to fight the two trainers. ____________________ Trainer x2 battle! | Blackbelt ??? | Guitarist ??? | 960 Poke-dollars | | Makihita Lvl 15 | | Voltorb Lvl 15 | ____________________| Ohhh, you've easily got these guys outmatched, type and level wise! Have Marshtomp use Mudshot on the Voltorb to likely 1HKO it, and have Kadabra use Confusion on the Makuhita! Grab the item and go around behind the lower guy and collect the berries. As a game-wide tip, replant berries when you pick them, and tehre will always be more for you to get later! Head back out of this mini-maze and head left. You'll be hard pressed to sneak past the Fisherman, so you will have to battle him. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Fisherman ??? | 600 Poke-dollars | | Magikarp Lvl 5 | Tentacool Lvl 10 | Magikarp Lvl 15 | ____________________| This is almost a joke. Take out the level 5 Magikarp by pitting on it or looking at it crooked or something. The Level 15 Magikarp is just as wussy. You do know that Magikarp is one of the most useless pokemon in existance. Take out the Tentacool with any ground or electric pokemon, such as Marshtomp or Electrike. [Next003] From the trick house, head right under the bridge into a grassy area. Sneak past the Youngster or fight him. ____________________ Trainer battle! | Youngster ??? | 208 Poke-dollars | | Electrike Lvl 13 | Aron Lvl 15 | ____________________| Use a ground type pokemon to wipe the field with the Steel type Aron and the Electric Electrike. Head North for a nice little battle with your Rival! Yay! ____________________ Rival battle! | Rival! | 1200 Poke-dollars | | Ev.2 Starter Lvl 20 | Wingull Lvl 18 | Slugma* Lvl 18 | | *I believe that it | will be a pokemon of| whatever type the | starter that would | be weak to yours | would be.For example| If you chose grass | then this pokemon | would be water type.| ____________________| Okay, your rival's starter pokemon will be evolved here, so it won't be as easy as the last battle. Actually, if you've followed my walkthrough, or if you've leveled up at least a little, this battle should be quite easy. For starters, take out the Wingull with either that Electric type or your Tailow. Once you've pasted that, take out the Variable pokemon (In this case, Slugma.) with your starter pokemon. When your rival's starter comes out, nail it with either a Grass type, (If it's Marshtomp.) a Flying type, (If it's Grovyle.) or a Flying or Psychic type. (If it's Combusken.) Once you've won, your rival will give you the Itemfinder, the first really useful, key item. Head up and fight the two trainers. ____________________ Trainer x2 battle! | Pokemaniac ??? | Guitarist ??? | 1288 Poke-dollars | | Lombre Lvl 14 | Nuzleaf Lvl 14 | | Electrike Lvl 14 | Voltorb Lvl 14 | ____________________| Simply have your Tailow (Or Kadabra if your swellow isn't fairing well) take out Lombre with a Flying (Or Psychic) type attack. Electrike will go down to a Ground type attack. Have your Marshtomp take out the Voltorb with Ground type attacks and Tailow use Flying attacks on Nuzleaf. (Psychic won't work on it as it's dark type.) Head left and up when you are below the item to trigger another battle. ____________________ Trainer x2 battle! | Biker ??? | Psychic ??? | 960 Poke-dollars | | Magnimite Lvl 14 | | Abra Lvl 14 | ____________________| This is pretty easy as well! Simply use a Ground type attack on Magnimite to KO it and have your Sableye come out and do it's think against Abra! Grab your item and head North. Head into the city and head into the building just Right of all the bikes. Talk to the manager to get a free bike! YAY! Head into your pack and register it to select. Head over to the gym and talk to the person guarding the door for a scene. Hey, what do you know! It's Wally, and he wants to battle you! With his Ralts. Only his Ralts! *Snickers* Weakling...Err...I mean...Yes Wally, you can do it if you follow your heart and believe in yourself...LIKE THAT'S EVER GONNA HAPPEN! Kick his butt! ____________________ Trainer battle! | Wally | 960 Poke-dollars | | Ralts Lvl 16 | ____________________| Breack out the Sableye and pwninate him! Foresight and Night Shade work wonders against this Double Teaming wuss of a pokemon trainer! After you beat him he'll leave and you'll get another scene with Senor Shades. Head to the Poke-Center and heal up and save. Now, onto the third Gym! Once inside head up and turn left. You need to hit the switch to shut off the force field but the trainers block you. ____________________ Gym x2 battle! | Guitarist ??? | Fighter Girl ??? | 952 Poke-dollars | | Electrike Lvl 17 | Voltorb Lvl 17 | | Meditite Lvl 17 | Meditite Lvl 17 | ____________________| Okay, Psybeam the Meditite to kill it and Mudshot the Electrike. Repeat the attacks on the new set of pokemon where the Electrike is the Voltorb. Bam, instant win! Press the switch to move the forcefields and head up and fight the Youngster. ____________________ Gym battle! | Youngster ??? | 272 Poke-dollars | | Zigzagoon Lvl 17 | Gulpin Lvl 17 | ____________________| Simply have Kadabra come out and Psybeam/Confusion both the Normal type Zigzagoon and the Poison type Gulpin into submission. Hit the switch and the forcefields will move again. Head down and press the switch just below you. Then press the first one. Go up and fight the two trainers by the final switch after pressing it. ____________________ Gym x2 battle! | Guitarist ??? | Bug Catcher ??? | 1564 Poke-dollars | | Magnimite Lvl 17 | Voltorb Lvl 17 | | Illumise Lvl 17 | Volbeat Lvl 17 | ____________________| Take the Voltorb out with a Mudshot and take down the Bug type Illumise with a well placed Psychic or Flying attack. Repeat the Mudshot on Magnimite and the Psychic or Flying attack on the Bug type Volbeat. Head up and take the leader! ____________________ Gym Battle! | |
