Whenever i take pokemon fire red out of my dsi slot 2, the save file gets deleted (but it is perfectly fine while it is in the ds). I do save it and wait until it is fine to turn the power off.

In certain patches of grass my firered sjust freezes. I bought the game used online at gamestop.com and i play it in the bottom slot of my ds lite. would cleaning the cartridge help at all or do I need a new game?
