able to catch mew.

Unfortunately, that trick only works in Red and Blue.

However, there is a legal way to get a Mew. You need a copy of Pokemon Emerald, and a
friend with the Old Sea Map in their game. Have the map Mystery-gifted over, then have Mr.
Briney take you to Faraway Island, where Mew can be found.

Once Mew is caught, trade it over to your FireRed game.
