Nice touch! My opinion though is that it's not a 100% likely that Azelf actually is a girl. Then again, it's not likely that it's a boy either.

And it makes sense! Latios is a legendary. So is Azelf! I guess that's what they have in common! Maybe that could be a default name for other legendaries. (Except the 6 small legendaries and Deoxys. The small ones are more like gendered legendaries, and Deoxys, it isn't too hard to think of a name.)
