V1.1 A WHOLE NEW ADVENTURE SAVING BIRCH
*****************************************************************
The game starts, as usual, with the Professor telling you about Pokemon. He will ask you
if you are a boy or a girl. Simple question. Answer accordingly. Also enter your name. You
are then shrunk into the game... in the back of a truck.
Walk out of the truck my walking to the right and you will realise it is a moving truck.
Your Mom will greet you and make the house sound good, then you will go in the house.
Machoke's are moving the furniture in the house and to get you out of the way, Mom asks
you to set the clock that your Dad gave you.
Walk up the staircase to your bedroom and set the clock, which is located to the left of
the bedroom door, by facing it and clicking A. Once you have set the clock, Mom will come
and talk to you again. When she is finished blabbing, go to your PC and withdraw the
potion in there, then go back downstairs.
You will run to the TV to see your Dad on the TV, but you'd have already missed it. Mom
chats for a bit and then leaves you to check out the neighbourhood. Leave the house and
enter the house adjacent to yours. When you enter the house, a woman will greet you and
tell you she has a son/daughter upstairs. I'm just going to pretend you chose to be a boy,
to make things easier.
Go upstairs and talk to the young girl at the PC. After talking to you for a short while,
she will tell you her name is May and then freak out, forgetting she said she'd help her
Dad with Pokemon studies and runs out the door. Follow her out of the house, and go north
until a little boy stops you.
He tells you he can hear shouting, so obviously we have to be the hero and see what's
going on. A man in a white suit is being attacked by a Pokemon and tells you there are
Pokemon in his bag. Click the bag and choose a Pokemon.
I STRONGLY suggest you choose Torchic for two reasons.
ONE, I am basing this Walkthrough on having Torchic as the starter, so in future rivalry
battles, I can only help you with the Pokemon the rival would have if you have Torchic as
a starter and...
TWO, out of the three you get to choose, Torchic is the best. It's the easiest to raise
and when it becomes a fighting/fire pokemon, it is one of the best starters around from
all the games... at least in my opinion.
The battle is no challenge at all. A level 2 Poochyena is easy to kill. Just keep
scratching it until it's fainted. After beating the wild pokemon, Birch will take you back
to his lab. Birch will give you Torchic as a reward for saving him. Congratulations, you
have a great pokemon! He then suggests you go see his daughter May. Accept and then leave
the lab.
*****************************************************************
V1.2 A Whole New Adventure Finding May
*****************************************************************
Once you have left the lab, go north out of Littleroot Town and walk through Route 101.
You will come across level 2-4 Pokemon in this area, either Wurmple or Zigzagoon. None of
them are threats so just defeat them like you did Poochyena. You should soon reach a small
place called Oldale Town. It would be a good idea to save right about now. Go to the
Pokemon Centre and heal up.
Take a visit to the Pokemon Mart and talk to the guy at the counter. There's not much for
sale here. Buy something if you wish but I wouldn't bother. If you walk to the left of
Oldale Town to a new route, you will blocked by a guy, saying he's sketching footprints.
Instead, go north of Oldale Town and up to Route 103.
More wild Pokemon await you. They will be pretty much the same as the ones in Route 101,
only more higher levelled Pokemon will appear. You will find May at the top in a patch of
grass. Talk to her and she will challenge you to a battle. You may be weak if you battled
a few Pokemon in the wild or you may not be. Nevertheless, you should still win.

Just keep using Scratch, and hopefully you will beat May before she beats you. If you
don't, just go back up to Route 103 and try again. It's very doubtful she will beat you if
you are at full health.
After you beat May, she will head back to the lab, go back the way you came to Oldale
Town. May is waiting for you, and she reminds you to go back to Littleroot, and then heads
back herself. Go back to Littleroot Town and into the lab. Professor Birch will
congratulate you on beating May at your first try, and give you a Pokedex. May will also
give you five Pokeballs. Now you are ready to start your adventure. Leave the lab and walk
out of the town. You will be stopped by Mom who will give you Running Shoes (hold B while
walking to run) and then send you on your way.
*****************************************************************
V1.3 A Whole New Adventure Route 102
*****************************************************************
When you get to Oldale Town once more, heal your Pokemon and this time head left to Route
102. Route 102 is home to the same Pokemon you've seen so far, and maybe an extra one or
two. This would be a good place to start catching Pokemon. Go left and down through the
route to find the first non-rival trainer battle of the game.
Trainer Battle: Younster Calvin
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Zigzagoon* 5 *
*******************
It's a fairly simple battle. Zigzagoon isn't too much of a threat at this stage and a few
Scratches from Torchic should get the job done. By the way, Ralts is a great Pokemon to
catch in this Route, although he does tend to be less common than the other Pokemon in the
route. If you find him, catch him. He only has Growl though if you catch him at levels 2-4
but he learns some moves in a few levels time so don't worry about it. Just use the old
levelling technique of starting him and then switching him out straight away. Continue on
left to fight the next trainer.
Trainer Battle: Bug Catcher Rick
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Wurmple * 4 *
*******************
*Wurmple * 4 *

Torchic will take these two down without a problem. Continue left then go up when you
can't go left any further.
Trainer Battle: Younster Allen
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Poochyena* 5 *
*******************
*Taillow * 3 *
*******************
Poochyena goes down easily enough with Torchic. If you have gotten to Level 10, you will
have Ember to beat them easily. Use the switching out trick to level up the weaker pokemon
you have caught (if you have). After beating Allen, go around him and grab the berries
from the soil, then continue left.
Trainer Battle: Lass Tiana
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Zigzagoon* 4 *
*******************
*Zigzagoon* 4 *
*******************
I missed the level of the second Zigzagoon, but I'm sure it was 4. Nevertheless, this is
another easy battle. Just take them out like you have the other trainers. Go south from
Tiana and jump over the ledge to find a potion. Now, ho back up and continue left to
Petalburg City.
*****************************************************************
V1.4 A Whole New Adventure Petalburg City
*****************************************************************
Once you enter Petalburg City, heal your Pokemon as they are probably weak from all those
trainers. Go to the Mart and buy a couple extra potions, and if needs be, a few more
Pokeballs. After you've been in the Mart, go left until a guy sees you. He points you out
to Petalburg City gym. Go ahead, go in.
When you enter Petalburg gym, there is a man there. Speak to him, to find out he's
actually your Dad. After a small chat, a young boy called Wally comes into the gym and
asks your Dad to hel phim catch a Pokemon. Dad lends him a Zigzagoon and a Pokeball and
you and Wally go into the grass. This is basically Ruby's tutorial on how to catch a
Pokemon. If you don't know (and I'll be shocked if you don't) then just watch what Wally
does. He catches a Ralts (a very good Pokemon once it's in it's prime) and then you go
back to the gym. Dad then tells you to head for Rustboro City and challenge the gym leader
there, claiming he is too powerful for you at the moment. Talk to him again and he will
tell you he will fight you when you have four badges. OK! Leave the gym.
You can walk around and talk to everyone if you want but apart from that, there's nothing
left to do here at Petalburg City. Once you have healed and gotten any items you want from
the Mart, head left to Route 104.
*****************************************************************
V1.5 A Whole New Adventure Route 104
*****************************************************************
By now, your Pokemon should be between levels 6-10. Go down to the beach on Route 104 and
a trainer running on the beach will challenge you.
Trainer Battle: Youngster Billy
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Seedot * 6 *
*******************
*Zigzagoon* 8 *
*******************
Yes, the levels have gotten considerable better, and Billy is quite tough. Seedot is
fairly easy if Torchic has Ember, which he should by now. For Taillow, I suggest giving
the experience to one of your other Pokemon. Continue North until you are back on normal
land.
You will see a small place near the dock called Mr Briney's Cottage, but it is empty at
the minute so continue North. Collect the berries at the top of the path, and then turn
left to fight the next trainer.
Trainer Battle: Rich Boy Winston
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Zigzagoon* 7 *
*******************
By now, all your Pokemon should be at least level 6-7 so you should have no problem with
Zigzagoon. If you do however, just use Torchic to kick his ass. Go north into Petalburg
Woods.
*****************************************************************
V1.5 A Whole New Adventure Petalburg Woods
*****************************************************************
You will higher level Pokemon here but generally the same as what you've come across so
far. Shroomish is a new Pokemon you'll find and he's pretty nifty. Definetely worth the
catch as your main grass Pokemon (at least for now). Go right until you reach a patch of
grass with a square missing. Face the missing square and check it to find a hidden potion.
If you go south from there you will be back in Route 104 where there is a Potion waiting
for you.Go back into Petalburg Woods and go left. A trainer will see you and challenge
you.

It's very rare you'll fight a trainer with six pokemon, but all these are weak. DO NOT use
Torchic, use a weaker Pokemon... they could do with the experience. Go North through the
patch of grass to find a Paralyz Heal. From there go right until you hit trees, then go
north and you will see a man looking for Shroomish. Suddenly, a Team Magma Grunt runs down
and tries to take something from the man, but he hides behind you and you have no choice
but to battle the grunt.
Trainer Battle: Team Magma Grunt
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Poochyena* 9 *
*******************
He may only have one Pokemon, but it's a tough one. Be careful. If you feel that your
other Pokemon can take on Pooch, go ahead and use them. If not, use Torchic to Ember his
ass (you really should have learnt it by now).
The Grunt mentions he's off to Rustboro City to steal something else, and then leaves. The
man gives you a Great Ball as thanks, and then runs off himself. This guy is a Devon
Researcher... you will see him again. OK, time to continue north and then turn left until
you are seen by another trainer.
Trainer Battle: Bug Catcher James
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Nincada * 8 *
*******************
Quite easy... if you have a weaker Pokemon still alive, use it. If not, use Torchic. One
Ember should do it. Continue North from this trainer to find an Ether, then go right until
you see an opening and go north to get out of Petalburg Woods. Now you are in another part
of Route 104. Go to the left and collect the berries, and then enter the house by the
berries.
Talk to the woman at the northenmost point of the room to get a Wailmer's Pail. Talk to
the woman nearest the right of the room to get a berry. Go behind the building to find a
patch of grass. Collect the Potion, and then face the missing patch of grass just below
the Potion to collect a Pokeball. Go back round to the main road and this time turn right.
You will bump into yet another trainer.
Trainer Battle: Lady Cindy

have a full restore. Continue right to fight another trainer.

*******************
*Lotad * 7 *
*******************
*Shroomish* 7 *
*******************
If you have Taillow, Peck would destroy these two. If not, Torchic will destroy them
easily. Good experience though if you have some weaker Pokemon. Continue North to fight
the twins in your first Double Battle (this is optional).

If you have Torchic and Taillow, bring them out. Peck and Ember will rape these two.
Alternatively, Ralts' Confusion will deal a fair amount of damage. When you beat the
twins, continue up the bridge and when you get to the end, talk to the fisherman by the
edge of the sea for another battle (again, optional).

Free Experience! Use anyone, as he can't deal any damage to you at all. Go to your right
and collect the berries (it may be a good idea to plant some too, if you want). Speak to
the old lady, and she'll give you a berry. Go North towards the city, but instead go
inside the railings and follow the path to find an X-Defend. Get out of there, and then go
into Rustboro City.
*****************************************************************
V2.1 The First Badge Exploring Rustboro City
*****************************************************************
Your Pokemon are most likely almost dead by now so heal them up, and go to the Mart and
buy what you like (yes, this Mart is better than the last :P) You can buy pretty much
everything you need at this point so stock up, and if you haven't already, save the game!
Go to the outskirts of the city, and enter the first building (it's big). It is the place
where the Devon Workers live. Speak to the little girl on the second floor to get a
Premier Ball (a Pokeball that looks snazzy). Go to the house to the left of the Pokemon
Center to get HM01 Cut. (you don't really need it for the game, but get it anyways, as
there are items you can get with cut.) You can't use Cut until you have Rustboro City's
badge though. Go into the Trainer School and talk to the teacher to get Quick Claw.
Go into the small house to the right of the gym and talk to the little girl to trade your
Slakoth for a Makuhita... I doubt you even have a Slakoth already, and Makuhita is quite
common later in the game. It's all up to you if you want to make the trade. Now go to the
Devon Corporation. It's to the north of the town and it's huge... you can't miss it. You
can go in and talk to people, but you can't do anything yet... we will be coming back here
however. Leave and go up until there are two paths out of the city. Take the left path.
*****************************************************************
V2.2 The First Badge Route 116
*****************************************************************
Once you enter Route 116, take the northen path and fight the next trainer.
Trainer Battle: Youngster Joey
*******************

*******************
*Zigzagoon* 8 *
*******************
*Machop * 10 *
*******************
Zigzagoon is easy. Just use anything to take him down. Machop is harder. Don't use any
sort of normal Pokemon against Machop, they will het raped. Instead, you could use Ralts'
confusion. If you don't have Ralts, use Peck from Taillow, or an Ember or two should do
the trick. You'll find Whismur's in the grass here. They are crap. But catch them for the
Pokedex, if you must. Continue going right and you will find another trainer.
Trainer Battle: Lass Janice

Continue right until you reach a few steps up a mountain. Climb them and get the
X-Special. Now go back down the steps and into Rusturf Tunnel.
*****************************************************************
V2.3 The First Badge Rusturf Tunnel & Route 116 again
*****************************************************************
This place is filled with Whismur. If you haven't caught one, do so for the Pokedex but
don't keep it on your team because it's not a good Pokemon. Go up two sets of stairs to
collect a Pokeball, then go right. As you can see it's a dead end, so train up in here
until your Pokemon are all level 9-14 and then leave the cave. Now on the way back to
Rustboro, we'll go a different way to fight all the trainers. This is worth it as you'll
need the experience. OK, so go back the way you came until you get to the girl you fought.
Now instead of taking the north path, take the south to fight another trainer.
Trainer Battle: Bug Catcher Jose

*Nincada * 8 *
*******************
Wurmple and Silcoon are easy enough, use anyone. Use Torchic for Nincada. Continue left
and pick up the repel. Go all the way back to Rustboro and heal your Pokemon. You are now
ready to take on the first gym.
*****************************************************************
V2.4 The First Badge Rustboro Gym
*****************************************************************
Roxanne, the gym leader at Rustburo, specialises in Rock Pokemon. She's basically the
female Brock. She is actually quite easy though, so don't worry. By now, you should have a
Shroomish, or a Pokemon with a grass move at least. You WILL need them to beat this gym
without difficulty. If you have a Shroomish, it's about to get some nice EXP. You can skip
the trainers and go straight to Roxanne if you wish, but I strongly disrecommend that.
Fight them, you need the EXP.

use Shroomish. Absorb will beat them easily. If you want to train your other Pokemon,
start them and then switch them out for Shroomish straight away. Move on to the next
trainer.

Easy battle. Shroomish will beat him easily. He does know Rock Throw though, so if you
don't have Shroomish, be careful as it can deal some serious damage, especially to Normal
Pokemon. I suggest you heal before taking on Roxanne. When you are ready, challenge her.

*Geodude * 14 *
*******************
*Nosepass * 15 *
*******************
Geodude is easily taken down with Shroomish's Absorb. (But beware, Roxanne has a Potion
and will most likely use it on Geodude.) Nosepass is her main Pokemon. It has Rock Throw,
which can deal a considerable amount of damage, and Harden, so you need to beat him ASAP.
I suggest giving it a Leech Seed and then using Absorb over and over. If you don't have
Shroomish, you are in for a tough battle. All I can suggest then is to use as powerful
moves as you can. Things like Ember, Headbutt etc. and hope the damage dealt is enough...
or catch a Shroomish. :P
If you have beaten her, Congratulations, you have the Stone Badge! The Stone Badge
increases Attack of your Pokemon and allows you to use Cut outside of Battle. She also
gives you TM39, Rock Tomb. It's a strong Rock move which Lowers Speed. I suggest you teach
it to a Rock Pokemon, if you have one (if not, save it for when you do have one). Leave
the gym and you will see Team Magma Grunts run away with the Devon Researcher chasing
them. Ignore that for now so you can heal and save. Now that you are ready, go north and
head right again. We're going back to Rusturf Tunnel.
*****************************************************************
V3.1 The Second Badge Rusturf Tunnel Again
*****************************************************************
You will be stopped by the Devon Researcher. Team Magma robbed his goods, he wants them
back. Go right to the tunnel, since you have already beaten the trainers here. Talk to the
old man outside the cave and he'll shout about something called 'Peeko'. Enter Rusturf
Tunnel. Go up and then right to see 'Peeko' (a Wingull) and a Team Magma Grunt.

Don't use Ralts...Psychic is useless against Dark Pokemon. Normal Pokemon are also fairly
weak. Use Torchic to Ember his ass. Once he's defeated, the Grunt will give you the Goods
back and dissapear. Then the old man will come in and get his 'Peeko'. He introduces
himself as Mr Briney... ring a bell That's right, he's the guy who lives in Mr Briney's
Cottage. He basically says your in his good books. Leave the tunnel now. You will notice
the Karate Guy blocking the door to the building by the tunnel, has now moved, so go in
the house. Nothing much in here except men talking about the tunnel, and how they can't
dig through it. That means we have to go through about three cities to get to Vendaturf,
the city on the other side of the tunnel. From here, instead of going down through the
grass, continue going on the North Path where there are lots of trees. Teahc cut to a
pokemon (don't teach it to Torchic) and cut through the first tree. Go and fight the first
trainer.

V3.2 The Second Badge Errands for Devon
*****************************************************************
You will bump into the Devon Researcher again. He will thank you for getting back the
goods and give you another Great Ball. (Yay.) He will then take you to the Devon
Corpration building. He gives you a parcel and asks you to deliver it to the Shipyard in
Slateport. He then says the President of Devon Corporation wants to speak with you. Mr.
Stone, the President, wants you to run an errand for him too. He asks you to deliver a
Letter to a man called Steven at Dewford. Of course, he doesn't expect you to do it for
free, and he gives you a Pokemon Navigator, or PokeNav for short, as your payment. It's
basically a town map, an update on trainers and other nifty stuff. Check it out before
leaving the building. Heal up and save. Now we need to go to Dewford and Slateport. So we
need to find a way to get across the sea. I'll give you three words. Mr. Briney's Cottage.
Go south on your way out of city, and you will see May. Talk to her. Speak to her twice
and she will mention Mr. Briney. OK, so leave the city and go down the bridge. There will
be a tree to your right when you get off the bridge. Cut it down and pick up the
X-Accuracy.
Go left and down back into Petalburg Woods. Luckily, it's easier to get out this way. Just
jump over the ledges and keep going down and you will eventually come out at South Route
104. Go down to Mr Briney's Cottage and go in. Mr Briney is having a crazy moment and
chasing his bird around the table. Step in front of Briney and talk to him. He will offer
to take you to Dewford. Accept and we're on our way!
*****************************************************************
V3.3 The Second Badge Dewford Town
*****************************************************************
Once you arrive at Dewford, Briney will remind you to give the letter to Steven. We will,
but not yet. First we explore Dewford Town.... Shouldn't take too long as it's quite a
small town. Go into the house right by the docks and talk to the man sitting at the table
to get a Silk Scarf. The other guy mentions the gym leader at Dewford Town, Brawly. He is
the holder of the second badge, and we'll be challenging him soon enough. Go south and
talk to the fisherman by the gym and he'll give you an Old Rod. It's only good for
catching Magikarp but at least you have it. Talk to the guy above the Pokemon Centre and
make him say a 'cool new phrase' if you want. In Dewford Hall, everyone talks about the
'popular phrase'. Anyways, go north from Dewford Hall (Route 106) and fight a fisherman.

Magikarp is free EXP. Grass or Psychic for Tentacool. The northenmost rock above Elliot
has a Stardust hidden there. Collect it. Now continue left and enter Granite Cave. Talk to
the Hiker at the entrance and he'll give you HM05, Flash. You need it for the more darker
areas of Granite Cave, but you need to beat Brawly, the Dewford Gym Leader, before you can
use it outside of battle. But for now, don't worry about it and continue left. Zubat's are
in this cave and can be quite useful if you want to raise one. If not, catch it for the
Pokedex. Makuhita is also in this cave. I don't reccomend raising one, but catch one for
the Pokedex if you want. Another one you could catch is Abra, but it's very rare and uses
Teleport immediately so you either need to throw a ball and hope for the best or put it to
sleep first. (Although I don't think you can at this stage of the game).
Pick up the escape rope when you reach a wall, and you will see a ladder. If you go any
further, you need flash to lighten up the place so leave the cave and head back to
Dewford. Heal your Pokemon and then make your way into the Dewford Gym.
*****************************************************************
V3.4 The Second Badge Dewford Gym
*****************************************************************
Yes, it's dark. No, you don't need to use flash. The whole idea of the gym is that the
more trainers you beat, the lighter it gets. Brawly uses fighting-type Pokemon, so for
this gym, Taillow will be the star. (A pokemon you really should have by now, it's almost
essential.) If you don't have Taillow, then use Ralts' psychic moves to kick ass. Go up
until you hit a wall, then go right and you will be seen by a trainer.
Trainer Battle: Battle Girl Laura
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Meditite * 11 *
*******************
Since Meditite is half psychic, using Ralts won't do much for you. Instead, use Taillow
for this battle. Be very careful though, because Meditite has Bide, and if you take alot
of damage but don't kill it, prepare to be one hit KO'd. Once you beat Laura, go north
until you can't any longer then turn left. When you hit a wall, go up a step then walk
left again.
Trainer Battle: Black Belt Hideki
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Machop * 14 *
*******************
Use Taillow or Ralts, your choice. Machop is weak as hell if you know how to beat him.
From here go right until you can't anymore, then up and then left.

Torchic for Meditite. From here go right, down, right, up and there's the gym leader.

GYM LEADER BATTLE - BRAWLY

My Pokemon:
At this stage your pokemon should be Levels 12-16.

Brawly's Pokemon:
*******************
* Pokemon * Level *
*******************
*Machop * 17 *
*******************
*Makuhita * 18 *
*******************
First things first, he has two Super Potions and he will use them. Machop is much tougher
than the other ones you've been fighting, but stick to Ralts or Taillow for him. If you
have gotten Taillow to Level 13, Wing Attack should hurt Machop. His Karate Chop will deal
some mega damage if you aren't levelled high enough, simple because your defence isn't
high enough. If you have X-Defend's, use them at the beginning of the battle. Makuhita is
simular to Machop. Except he'll try and improve himself before attacking, which gives you
a chance to finish him off. Stick to Ralts and Taillow (or anything of the same types) and
if worst comes to worst, use Torchic's Ember. If you are having serious trouble with him,
try using Leech Seed if you have Shroomish.
Winning gives you the Knuckle Badge! The Knuckle Badge makes all Pokemon up to Level 30
obey you, even ones got in trades. And you can also use Flash outside of battle. Brawly
also gives you TM08 - Bulk Up. It raises Attack & Defence. If you have a
Makuhita...teach it Bulk Up. OK, go back to the Pokemon Center, heal and save.
*****************************************************************
V4.1 The Third Badge Granite Cave
*****************************************************************
Head up to Granite Cave and go through the first floor ladder. It will be dark so use
flash. Ralts is a good candidate to learn flash. In this level of Granite Cave, you'll see
Mawile, a very crappy pokemon. Catch it for the good old 'Dex though. You'll also see
Aron, which is not a bad pokemon but I would just catch it for the Dex. Go North and then
head right. When you reach a path going down, go down and get a Pokeball then go back up
and continue right. Go down and right again to get to another ladder. Go down it. Now go
up and then left. Keep going until you see some stairs. Go up them so that you are on a
ledge. Follow the path until there is another small ledge with a rock in the middle. Check
the rock for an Everstone (very useful if you don't want a Pokemon to evolve). Continue on
the main path until you come to another ladder. Go up the ladder and then up the next
ladder. From here, go left all the way (you will no longer need Flash) and then down to
see a young boy with grey hair.
The boy will introduce himself as Steven. Hand over the letter and he'll give you TM47,
Steel Wing (Teach it to Taillow if you want). He then leaves. Use the Escape Rope you
collected earlier to get out of this annoying cave. Heal at the Pokemon Center and Save.
Next Stop - Slateport City!
*****************************************************************
V4.2 The Third Badge Slateport City
*****************************************************************
Speak to Mr Briney and select Slateport as to where you want to go. You will stop at Route
109 (the beach at Slateport) Now we need to deliver the Devon Goods to Captain Stern. For
now, let's just kick all these trainers' asses. Walk straight up and fight the first
trainer.

Shroomish will take care of these two. If you haven't got Shroomish, use anyone. They
aren't particularly powerful. Once you beat her, go north into Slateport City. Go near the
top of the city and heal in the Center. You will notice alot of Team Magma Grunts queueing
up at a building but ignore them for now.
Go down until you come across a big building with rowing boats. It's called 'Stern's
Shipyard'. Go in the building and speak to the man at the table. He'll introduce himself
as Dock, and he works for Stern. He asks you to go find Stern and deliver the goods. Go
out of the building and go back up to where Team Magma were. You will notice they are
gone. Turns out the building they were queueing up for is a Museum. Enter the Museum and
pay $50 to get in. Talk to the Grunt closest to the entrance, and he'll freak out and give
you TM46 - Thief. He'll then run off like a big girl.
Go up the stairs to the second floor and talk to the guy in there. He'll introduce himself
as Captain Stern and takes the goods. Team Magma then show up.

Zubat will go down with an Ember or two from Torchic, and Numel is the same as the last
one. After you've beaten him, the leader of Team Magma, Maxie will tell you that he plans
to increase the world's landmass and that you haven't heard the end of Team Magma. They
then dissapear.
Stern will thank you and leave, giving you no reward (cheapskate). Go to the Pokemon
Centre, heal and save. If you go to the house adjacent to the PokeCenter you can give your
Pokemon nicknames. The house directly underneath is the Pokemon Fan Club. A woman in there
is a TV Presenter and will interview you about your Pokemon.
The Chairman of the PokeFan Club will rate how well you raise your Pokemon. Directly
underneath that is the Slateport Market. There are several shops in this city selling
different things. The first guy at the top of the market tells you he will sell you things
secretly if you can get the TM Secret Power. The next marketer sells nothing. The one
below him sells things like Protein, Carbos etc. The guy below him sells dolls.
Of course, there is also a Mart to buy normal things. There is a Pokemon Contest building
here but don't go in because it is for Hyper Rank Pokemon. You can get a Contest Pass at
Vendaturf Town, which is the Normal Rank Pokemon Contest area.
Since there is no gym at Slateport City, you've done everything there is to do here. Go
North to Route 110.

V4.3 The Third Badge Route 110

Shroomish can be a major pain in the ass. Leech Seed and Mega Drain means you'll have a
hard time finishing him off. All I can reccomend is Psychic or Fire attacks. Marshtomp is
Ground/Water, so although difficult, Shroomish should beat him. If Shroomish is Level 16,
it has Leech Seed and Mega Drain, and Marshtomp will go down soon enough. As for Numel,
you could use Shroomish, but Numel has Ember. Combusken's Double Kick should take care of
him.
When you beat May, she will give you the Itemfinder. A very useful item for, you guessed
it, finding items. Go back to Slateport, heal and save. Go back to Route 110 and pass

As soon as you've healed your Pokemon go to the bike shop. You can't miss it as there are
bikes around it (Duh). Speak to Rydel (the guy looking at the bikes), and he will give you
a free bike. You can either have a Mach Bike (Speed) or a Acro Bike (Tricks). Choose what
you like.
Go in the house underneath the Bike Shop and talk to the man, he will give you HM06 - Rock
Smash. Go down from the house and see an item (X-Speed). In the house adjacent to the
Mart, a woman wants Harbour Mail. If you go to Slateport and get one, she will give you a
Coin Case for the Game Corner. Myself, I don't care much for the Game Corner, so I'm not
going to bother, you can if you want though.
