How come when Mario flattens Goombas they die but when Yoshi flattens them they don't die, and Yoshi is heavier than them?

In Mario and Luigi:Partners in time,this star-guy says Mario has a tummy full of
courage,though its also filled with Tamale Sauce......THAT MEANS Mario eats a lot.THAT
MEANS(no offense,Mario)Marios fat.THAT MEANS Yoshi weighs less.THAT MEANS the Goombas can
take his weight.Do you WANT the Goombas to die?????????I mean,I know Goombas are foes,but
when theyre flat,they dont hurt you,and I kinda think its funny how they walk
around,flattened .You dont? then YOURE thtupid!BUT...thtupid people are c00l!And I mean
