When you pray to the Mana Goddess statue it will save your game. If you are in an area where there are enemies, it will also restore HP and MP.

Black Enemies
Fight and kill the same type of enemy 1,000 times consecutively. Afterwards, all enemies of that type will be black and will be tougher to kill, though they drop better items and experience.
