1.                               Introduction
===============================================================================
Yoshi's Island is the sequel to Super Mario World. This game is set in the
past, when Mario is a baby, and is dropped by a stork onto Yoshi's Island. The
Yoshis get together and decide to return Mario to his parents, but Bowser
interferes, and sends a huge range of enemies out into the many levels of the
game. Unlike previous Mario games, you control Yoshi instead of Mario.
This game has excellent graphics, from the start of the game all the way to the
end. The screen scrolls left and right very smoothly, and gives quite a zoomed
out view to allow you to see quite far into the distance before you even get
there. There is great detail on the foreground as well as the background, and
though all of the levels are different from one another, they all retain the
same amount of detail.
In all, there are six worlds in this game, each of which contain eight normal
levels and one secret level. Add to that one tutorial level, and there are
fifty-five levels! Quite an incredible statistic for a game, considering the
size and detail in each and every level, most of which contain new enemies and
all of which contain new and original backgrounds, items, and tasks to do.
At the end each level, you're given a score depending on how many of the
required items you picked up on your journey through the level. More often than
not, these items are hidden high up in difficult to reach places. Finding them
all in a single level can be difficult, especially when you have an abundance
of enemies rushing at you from all different directions. But if you do happen
to get 100% in the eight normal levels on a world, the secret, extra-difficult
level will be unlocked.
Overall, Yoshi's Island is a superb game. It's one of the few games that I've
bought for my SNES which I still play occasionally. The originality and size of
the game are incredible, with 55 huge levels and 127 enemies. Try not to be put
off by first appearances, as what may first seem to be a simple game will soon
turn into an extremely complex, difficult yet enjoyable platform game.

2.                                   Moves
===============================================================================
EAT
Upon pressing Y, Yoshi sticks his tongue out. Providing he's close enough to
an enemy, Yoshi will usually grab them. From here, you can either spit them
out or swallow them.
HOVER
Hold B in the air to hover. This move can be used to travel long distances,
and to reach places that you wouldn't be able to with a normal jump.
SHOOT
Providing Yoshi has at least one egg, tapping A to display the egg target,
and then releasing A, Yoshi will shoot an egg in the direction he's facing.
SPIT
When Yoshi has an enemy in his mouth, tap Y to spit them out. This is useful
for defeating other enemies and opening winged clouds.
STOMP
While in the air, press down to stomp the ground. This can be used to defeat
strong enemies, but as it's quite a slow move, it can be very difficult to
hit the faster enemies.
SWALLOW
When Yoshi has an enemy in his mouth, tap down to swallow them. Yoshi will
receive an egg.

Intro: Welcome To Yoshi's Island
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This introductory level is here to give new players the chance to get used to
the controls of the game before the first level. As this is a tutorial level,
there isn't too much to worry about in the way of enemies and other dangers, so
I'll use this section of the guide to explain about some of the basic controls
used in the game. For more specific information, hints and advice on playing
the game, hit the various message blocks in the game.
At the start of the game, press right on the D-Pad and scroll through the
messages that pop up on screen. Run past the red arrow on the right to come to
the first enemy in the game: a Shy Guy. There are various ways to beat enemies
in this game. As enemies get more difficult later on in the game, some ways may
work better or worse than others, or may not work at all. Here are all of the
ways to beat the Shy Guys in this section of the level:
OPTION 1: JUMP
This is the most basic option for beating most of the easy enemies. Just jump
up by pressing X and land on top of the Shy Guy.
OPTION 2: POUND
Jump up over the top of the Shy Guy and press down to make Yoshi stamp on the
floor. This is more powerful than the jump, but is much slower. For slow
enemies such as the Shy Guy in this section of the level, this is fine, but
you will need to be accurate.
OPTION 3: SPIT
Get close to the first Shy Guy and press Y to grab him. Press Y again to spit
the enemy out. This is useful for defeating a second enemy, such as the
second Shy Guy in this section of the level.
OPTION 4: EGG
Get close to the first Shy Guy and press Y to grab him. Press down to create
an egg. With the egg, face the second shy guy and press A to bring up a
target. Egg throwing is one of the most useful features for defeating enemies
in the game, but can look quite confusing at first. When the egg target comes
up, wait until it points toward the second Shy Guy, and then press A again to
shoot the egg. To pause the egg target, press either the L or R button. To
bring up the target and not shoot an egg at all, press down on the D-Pad or
press Y to cancel the egg.
With both Shy Guys out of the way, continue right to come to a platform that
consists of five blocks with coins high above. The middle block is purple, and
increases in size when hit. Hit the purple block, then jump up to the top of
it. You can now collect the coins that were too high to reach before.
Jump off the right side of the purple block and land on the rock. Jump up to
the next rock on the right to land near a message block. Hitting the block will
give information on the Hovering Jump, which can be used to cross large
distances or gain extra height in jumps. Run right until you come to the edge
of the path, and then jump high into the gap. Hold up, right and X to hover up
to the top of the high rock on the other side.
Walk right to come to a small spring ball. Spring balls are used to help Yoshi
bounce much higher than a normal jump. For a spring ball to work, jump high and
then jump again as soon as you land on the ball. Launch up to the rock high up
on the right, and then run right to come to a large spring ball. This is
similar to the small spring ball, but it launches Yoshi much higher. Use this
ball to launch up to the rock on the right.
Go right after landing to arrive near two Shy Guys. Use any of the four
possible attacks shown earlier in this level walkthrough to defeat the Shy
Guys, and then run right to exit the level.

Level 1-1: Make Eggs, Throw Eggs

FLOWER 1
--------
Run right when the level starts, and pass under the message block to come to
two Shy Guys. Eat both Shy Guys to create two eggs, and continue right until
you see a platform above with a Shy Guy on it. Jump up to the platform and eat
the Shy Guy to make a third egg, and then jump off the right side of the
platform to collect the first flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
After landing on the blue rock, eat the Shy Guy and jump high off the right
side of the rock to avoid a Piranha Plant. Run under the second message block
to arrive near a platform with a winged cloud above. Jump up to the platform,
eat the Shy Guy, and shoot an egg at the cloud, which will create some steps
leading up to the left. Climb the steps to the long platform at the top, and
collect the middle row of six red coins. Go to the far left side of the
platform to collect the second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
As soon as you collect the second flower, a Fly Guy holding a winged cloud will
appear up on the left. He doesn't stay for long, so quickly shoot an egg at him
to burst the cloud, which will make five stars fall down to the platform below.
Collect the stars, and then jump back up to the platform on the right. Run
right and go down the steps to the platform at the bottom. Drop down off the
right edge to activate two Piranha Plants. Shoot an egg at the bottom plant,
and go down the pipe on the other side.
After arriving in the cave, go right and drop off the edge to land near an egg
block. Hit the block to collect eggs, and then go right. Before collecting any
of the items above, push Chomp Rock all the way to the wall on the right to
defeat two Shy Guys. Leave the rock near the wall, and run back left to the
start of the cave. Shoot eggs at the six red coins in the area, and shoot the
two Fly Guys to make them each drop a red coin.
Shoot an egg at the Baron Von Zeppelin holding the extra life, and push Chomp
Rock back over to the wall at the right side of the cave. Shoot an egg off the
ceiling so that it rebounds into the open tulip, which will throw out eight
stars. Collect all the stars, and run right. Jump on Chomp Rock, hop up to the
ledge on the right, and then go up the pipe. After emerging from the pipe, jump
over the wall on the left to collect the third flower.
FLOWER 4
--------
Walk up the small steep slope on the right, and jump across the gap to land on
the blue rock. Shoot an egg at the Piranha Plant that appears, and then jump
down to any one of the four purple circling platforms. When the platform goes
low, drop down off the right side of the platform to land on a long platform.
Collect all four red coins on the platform and run over to the left side to
collect the fourth flower.
FLOWER 5
--------
Jump back on one of the circling platforms and jump off to land on the blue
rock up on the right. Run down the slope to find a pipe which Shy Guys are
jumping out of. Eat the Shy Guys until Yoshi has six eggs, and then shoot an
egg up at the winged cloud above, collecting the five stars that fall. Jump
over the pipe and continue right, eating both Crazee Dayzees along the way.
Shoot an egg at the winged cloud, and climb up the left side of the newly
created beanstalk. Near the top of the beanstalk, jump off to land on the rock
on the left, and continue left to find a winged cloud off the edge of a rock.
Shoot an egg at the winged cloud to reveal the fifth and final flower. Jump off
the rock to collect the flower, and hover right to land on a rock below.
Although it seems there is nothing on this rock, run right to reveal a hidden
winged cloud. Shoot an egg at the cloud to reveal five stars, and then drop
down off the left side of the rock. Go right and climb back up the beanstalk to
the top, but this time jump up to one of the purple circling platforms above.
Collect the two red coins when the platform gets to the highest point, and then
jump over to the blue rock on the right.
Go right to find Chomp Rock. Push it down the hill on the right to defeat two
Shy Guys and a Piranha Plant. Jump over Chomp Rock to land on the blue rock on
the other side. Shoot the neabry winged cloud for five stars. From the rock,
run right and jump over the five Shy Guys to come to the goal ring. Jump
through the goal ring to complete the level.

Level 1-2: Watch Out Below!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLOWER 1
--------
Run right at the start of the level and jump up the small step. Go up the slope
and drop down the other side to arrive near two Shy Guys. Eat both Shy Guys and
continue right. Go up the slope and jump at the top to collect the first
flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
From this point in the level to the first middle ring, Chomps will jump from
the background to make gaps in the floor. The first Chomp will make a gap in
the floor just after the first flower. Jump the gap and eat the Crazee Dayzee
on the other side, and then continue up the slope to the top. Jump over the
small ledge to land near six coins, then quickly hold right and stop under the
third and fourth coins, which are red coins.
Jump up to collect the red coins, and continue right, jumping over the various
gaps along the way, to come to a winged cloud. A Chomp will fall down and
create a gap under the winged cloud, so don't go near it just yet. When the
Chomp has created the gap, shoot the winged cloud to reveal the second flower,
and jump over the gap to collect it.
FLOWER 3
--------
Go right and drop down the step to land near six more coins. The red coins are
the four middle coins, but be careful as Chomps can create gaps under the first
and fourth coin. Use a Hover jump to collect the coins, and continue right to
come to a post. Jump over the first post and eat both Shy Guys, and then shoot
an egg up at the winged cloud to receive five stars. Collect the stars, then
jump over the second post and continue right to pass the Middle Ring.
Go right to come to a Shy Guy pipe, and eat Shy Guys until Yoshi has six eggs.
This will stop the Shy Guys coming out of the pipe, so you can have some time
to look around. Shoot an egg at the fluffy ceiling above and collect the four
red coins that are up there, and then shoot an egg through the fluffy wall on
the right. Shoot a final egg up through the ceiling to make the spring ball
fall down. Go and collect some more eggs by eating the enemies coming out of
the Shy Guy pipe, and then bounce up to the next area by using the spring ball.
After landing on the platform, two red arrows will be pointing right. Although
you can go left, it only leads through a hidden tunnel in the wall to an area
with an expansion block. So follow the arrows advice and go right through the
hidden wall. Jump up the two platforms to come to a junction. If you choose to
go right here, you can follow a path along to a hidden winged cloud which
contains a 1UP. Apart from the 1UP though, there's nothing else of interest, so
go left at the junction to come to two more platforms. Jump up the platforms
and go left at the junction to pass the second middle ring in the level.
After passing the second middle ring, go right and jump over the small gap. On
the other side of the hidden tunnel, run under the message block and enter the
hidden tunnel on the right. Bounce off the small spring ball and exit the
hidden tunnel high up on the right. Go down the slope on the other side to
arrive near a message block and a Metamorphosis Bubble. Touch the bubble to
transform into a helicopter. Fly right and go under the first hidden tunnel
section to collect two red coins. Go up after collecting the final coin to
collect the third flower.
FLOWER 4
--------
Continue right after collecting the third flower, and pass through the set of
coins that lead down and right. After these coins, there will be a section of
wall which has three hidden entrances, one on the left, one on the right and
one at the bottom. Go up through the tunnel at the bottom of the wall to find
the fourth flower.
FLOWER 5
--------
Exit the tunnel and then fly up and right past the Gusty. When you see the
floating island over on the right (which has arrows pointing down and right on
it), go right along the island and then go up and right at the end. When you
come to the two red arrows on the ceiling that point down, go up close to the
arrows and then fly through the hidden tunnel on the right. Follow the tunnel
down and right to collect three red coins, and then fly down and left after
exiting the tunnel to hit the Yoshi Block, which will return Yoshi to normal.
Run right to come to a pipe, but don't enter it just yet. Instead, jump up to
one of the platforms on either side of the pipe, and then jump up into the
small hidden area just above the platforms to collect two more red coins. Drop
down to the pipe and go down it.
After arriving in the final area, shoot an egg at the winged cloud to reveal
the fifth flower. Quickly shoot the Fly Guy holding the 1UP, and then jump up
to collect the flower. Run right and hover jump over the Piranha Plant to
collect the three red coins. On the other side, eat the nearby Shy Guy, and
shoot an egg at the winged cloud to reveal five stars. Run right, eating the
Crazee Dayzee and Shy Guy along the way, and watch out for the final Chomp
which creates a gap just left of the red arrow. Jump over the gap, and jump
through the goal ring on the other side to complete the level.

Level 1-3: The Cave Of Chomp Rock
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLOWER 1
--------
This level starts outside, with a green pipe on the right which leads down to
the cave. Jump on top of the pipe to activate a Piranha Plant over on the
right, and providing you have some eggs left over, shoot an egg at the plant.
With the plant defeated, jump over to the ledge where it used to be to find a
hidden winged cloud. Shoot the winged cloud to receive a 1UP, and then go down
the pipe.
As soon as you arrive in the cave, a Chomp Rock will start rolling down the
slope up on the left. Let the rock push you down the slope to the post at the
bottom, then jump over the post and stomp the crate on the other side. Collect
all six stars, and continue right to find a fluffy wall. Eat the Nipper Plant,
and then jump up to the top of the wall. Walk over to the middle of the wall,
and stomp the post two times to receive a single red coin.
Run right and eat the Shy Guy up on top of the mushroom. Jump up to the
mushroom, and hover jump over the Nipper Plants below to collect the top four
red coins. On the other side of the Nipper Plant pit, run right up the steep
slope and drop off the end of the path to land on a mushroom. A Chomp Rock is
visible over on the right, but don't go there just yet. Instead, drop down to
the lowest mushroom, and then go down the gap below it to land in a tunnel.
Follow the tunnel down and along, and collect the first flower and the two red
coins at the end.
FLOWER 2
--------
Eat the two Lantern Ghosts if Yoshi needs more eggs, and then run back up the
tunnel and jump out of the gap under the mushroom. Climb up the steps on the
right to the Chomp Rock at the top, and push it down the slope. Follow the rock
down until it collides with a second Chomp Rock, and then continue following
the first rock down the path on the left. Push the rock along the path to
defeat two Nipper Plants, and collect the second flower and the two red coins
at the end.
FLOWER 3
--------
Head back to the right, noticing the door above with the keyhole along the way,
and push the Chomp Rock down the slope on the right. Follow the Chomp Rock down
into the small cave, and jump up to the mushroom. Collect all four red coins,
and shoot an egg at the winged cloud to reveal five stars. Collect the stars
and exit the cave on the left. Run up the small slope and jump up to the first
slope on the right. Run up the slope in the path, and jump over to the mushroom
on the left. Jump up to the platform on the left and pass through the middle
ring to receive 10 stars.
Drop down off the right side of the platform and continue right up the path to
the post, jumping over the rolling Chomp Rock along the way. Wait for the two
Nipper Plants to bounce down from the mushrooms up on the right. Eat the Nipper
Plants when they get close, and then jump up to the top of the post. Jump up to
the first mushroom on the right, and shoot an egg up at the third flower high
above to collect it.
FLOWER 4
--------
Jump over to the mushroom on the right, and hold up to look up higher. Shoot an
egg at the three Baron Von Zeppelins holding the crate up high on the right.
When the crate falls down, go over and stomp on it to reveal six stars.
Continue right to find three posts. Jump up to the top of the middle post and
hold up to see a Baron Von Zeppelin holding a key. Shoot an egg at the Baron
Von Zeppelin, and run over to collect the key.
With the key, run back to the left and go down the slope to the end of the
path. Jump across to the middle path on the left and go along to find a door
with a keyhole. Press up to unlock the door and enter the bonus area. In the
bonus area, enter the button combinations that are shown to pass the balloon
between Yoshi and the Bandit. If the balloon pops on the Bandit, you will get a
1UP.
After exiting the bonus level, run right and jump across the gap to the top
path. Run up the path and jump over the post. Eat the Lantern Ghost on the
other side, and continue right to return to the three posts. Stomp the middle
post twice and the right post three times to collect two red coins, and then
continue right. Jump up to the high ledge on the right with the three coins on
each side. The middle coins on each side are red, so collect those, and
continue right to find another Chomp Rock.
Push Chomp Rock off the edge of the path and follow it as it rolls right to
defeat a Nipper Plant. Jump up to the path on the left, and jump from the
mushroom to get up to the next path on the right. Jump up to the next mushroom
above, and face left. Shoot an egg up to the top-left corner of the fluffy
ceiling to receive a 1UP, then go right and shoot an egg in the direction of
the fourth flower to collect it.
FLOWER 5
--------
Run down the path on the right and jump onto the first post. Pound the post
twice to reveal a winged cloud, then shoot the winged cloud to reveal a red
switch. Jump on the red switch and quickly run right to find two posts with a
Nipper Plant in the middle. Jump between the posts to land on the Nipper Plant,
and then press down to enter a secret area. In the area, collect as many coins
as you can on the moving platform, and then use the spring balls at either side
to exit the area.
After exiting the secret area, jump over the two posts on the right to come to
a Chomp Rock. Push the rock slowly up the small slope under the gap on the
right, and then go left just before the top of the slope. Stay under the gap,
and jump on Chomp Rock as it rolls down. Quickly jump up through the gap and
hover jump up to the path on the right. Collect the three red coins at the
right side of the area, and then jump over the gap and collect the fifth and
final flower at the left side of the area.
Jump down the gap and go right up the steep slope to exit the cave of Chomp
Rock. Outside, run right and jump over the pipe. Shoot an egg at the Piranha
Plant, and go right to the second Piranha Plant. Quickly shoot the plant, and
then shoot another egg up at the Fly Guy holding the 1UP. Continue right to
come to the goal ring, and jump through it to complete the level.

Level 1-4: Burt The Bashful's Fort
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLOWER 1
--------
Run right at the start of the level and hit the first egg block to transform it
into an egg. Hit the remaining five egg blocks on the right, and shoot eggs at
all three buckets along the way to collect some coins. After the sixth egg
block, jump over the rotating spikes and continue right to the small spring
ball. Use the spring ball to bounce up to the ledge on the right, and then run
right to the edge. Drop off the edge and face left. Shoot both Burts to receive
some stars, and collect the first flower on the left.
FLOWER 2
--------
Go right after collecting the first flower and jump onto the platform. When the
platform goes to the top, jump off at the right side and run along to the
paddles. After dropping down through the paddles, quickly run left to avoid a
falling wall and jump up to the ledge to collect the second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
Run right to avoid the falling wall again, and use the small spring ball to
bounce to the ledge high up on the right. Run right and drop off the edge, and
then shoot the two Burts on the left after landing to collect some more stars.
Hit the egg block for eggs, and run over to the lava on the right. There are
two slow horizontally moving platforms over this first section of lava. Jump on
the first one, hover jump over to the second one, and collect the three red
coins at the far right side of the lava before landing on the platform with the
falling wall.
Quickly run right and jump the gap between platforms, collecting the three red
coins along the way. Hover jump over the next gap on the right and collect the
coin on the right for the final red coin in the area. On the other side of the
gap, pass through the middle ring to receive 10 stars, and then go down the
pipe.
After landing, run right and shoot the winged cloud after the rotating spikes
to receive five stars. Continue right to find an egg block near a lava pit,
with another winged cloud on the right. Get some eggs by hitting the egg block,
and then shoot an egg at the nearby winged cloud to reveal a bridge across the
lava. Jump on the bridge and run along it to collect three red coins. At the
end of the bridge, jump up to the wall on the right, and then jump onto the
see-saw platform. Go to the far right side of the platform to collect the third
flower, and then jump quickly back to the middle of the platform.
FLOWER 4
--------
After collecting the third flower, the platform should be tilting up to the
left. Run up it and hover jump up at the far left side to collect two red coins
and land on a small platform with the fourth flower.
FLOWER 5
--------
From the small platform where the fourth flower was found, hover jump over to
the right and land on the next platform. Jump onto the rotating platform and
follow it around to collect two red coins, and then jump off at the right side
to land near a Shy Guy pipe. You can go down this pipe to collect many coins,
but there are no important items down there. Jump over the pipe and continue
right past the locked door to arrive at a lava pit.
There are four platforms going over the lava. Jump onto the first platform, and
then jump quickly back to the left. Shoot the Gargantua Blargg that emerges,
and then jump across the platforms over the lava, collecting all six of the red
coins along the way. On the other side of the lava, run right and shoot eggs at
the flowerpot until it falls off the ledge and smashes on the floor. When it
does, collect the key that's revealed, and run back to the left. Shoot an egg
at the eagerly awaiting Gargantua Blargg, and then jump back across the
platforms above the lava to arrive at the locked door. Press up to go through
the door.
On the other side of the door, hit the egg block on the left until Yoshi has
six eggs. Run right under the Burt, and then go through the first door in the
area to arrive in a room with four Piranha Plants. Shoot all four Piranha
Plants to make a flower appear. Jump up or shoot an egg to collect the fifth
flower, and then exit the room.
Go right and jump through the middle ring to collect 10 stars. Shoot an egg at
the nearby winged cloud near the red doors for five more stars. Walk right to
the red doors, and go through them to enter the first boss battle of the game.
BOSS BATTLE 1: BURT THE BASHFUL
-------------------------------
An easy first boss. Burt the Bashful is a larger version of the Burts seen
earlier in the level. His only weapon are his large bounces which he uses in an
attempt to land on you, but these are simple to avoid. There are two gaps at
either side of the area which can be used for when he gets too close. If you
press down in either gap, then he can't even reach you. Shoot six eggs at Burt
the Bashful to defeat him.

Level 1-5: Hop! Hop! Donut Lifts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLOWER 1
--------
Go left from the start of the level and run down the hill to the blue rock.
Jump onto the rotating platform and follow it around to collect two red coins.
Jump over to the vertically moving platform on the left and wait until it goes
down to collect the first flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
Jump over to the next rotating platform on the left and follow it around to
collect two more red coins. Jump off to the blue rock at the top-left corner
and walk left to come to a manual rotating platform on a wire. To operate this
platform, jump onto the left platform to start it rotating. When it starts to
slow down, jump onto the next platform on the left. Repeat this process to keep
the platform moving. Near the end of the wire, collect the two red coins under
the platform, and then go all the way to the end of the wire to collect the
second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
At the end of the wire, jump up to the platform above and eat the Fly Guy
carrying the red coin. Collect the coin, and continue left over the hill to the
blue rock. Jump onto the donut lifts and cross quickly to the other side,
eating the Crazee Dayzee along the way. On the blue rock at the other side,
face right and shoot an egg at the winged cloud to receive five stars. Run
quickly back onto the donut lifts to collect the stars, and then jump up to the
next blue rock on the left. Hit the expansion block, and use it to jump up to
the donut lifts above. Jump from the donut lifts to collect the third flower.
FLOWER 4
--------
Jump to the horizontally moving platform on the left, and then jump to the
vertically moving platform above. Jump to the platform at the side of the blue
rock on the left, jump again to land on a higher platform near an expansion
block, and then jump up to the two donut lifts on the left to land near the
middle ring on the blue rock. Go through the middle ring, and then jump up to
the platform above to find yourself near a manual rotating platform with five
red coins avove it. Jump on the platform and move it right to collect the five
red coins and the fourth flower at the end of the wire.
FLOWER 5
--------
Jump up after collecting the fourth flower to land on a platform, and then jump
across to the blue rock on the right. Five coins in a '+' formation are above.
Collect the middle red coin, and then jump up to the highest of the two
platforms on the left. Quickly shoot the Fly Guy that appears holding the
cloud, and collect the five stars that fall. Jump to the blue rock on the
right, and eat the nearby Mufti Guy before jumping up to the vertically moving
platform above.
Follow the platform up to the top, and collect the middle red coin of the five
coins on the left. Jump to the blue rock on the right and shoot the winged
cloud above for five stars. Continue right over the grassy hill, and eat the
Fly Guy carrying the red coin. Collect the red coin and then jump over to the
donut lifts. From the first set of three donut lifts, shoot an egg up to
collect the fifth flower in the fluff up on the right.
Jump onto the set of five donut lifts and wait for each one to drop so that you
can collect the red coins below. After collecting all five coins, jump over to
the striped path on the right and run along to the goal ring. Don't jump
through it yet. Wait until the level finishes scrolling, and then jump up at
the right side of the goal ring to reveal a hidden winged cloud. Shoot the
winged cloud for five stars, and then jump through the goal ring to complete
the level.

Level 1-6: Shy-Guys On Stilts

FLOWER 1
--------
Run right from the start of the level and jump on the first Shy Guy on Stilts
to turn him into a normal Shy Guy. Eat him, and then repeat the process on the
other two Shy Guys on Stilts further on the right. Jump up to the platform with
the spring ball, and use the spring ball to bounce all the way up to the top of
the high blue rock on the right.
Walk right to activate a winged cloud which contains a 1UP. Shoot the winged
cloud, then drop down to the platform below and go through the doors. On the
other side of the doors, collect all three eggs. Shoot the yellow egg at a Shy
Guy for a normal coin, the red egg for a two stars, and the flashing egg for a
red coin. Go through the doors. After arriving back in the main area, drop off
the right side of the platform and go down the pipe.
In the cave, jump on the two Shy Guys on Stilts and use the small spring ball
over on the right to bounce up to the ledge on the left. Go left and eat
Lantern Ghosts until Yoshi has six eggs, and then look up at the Baron Von
Zeppelin holding the large spring ball.
Wait until the Baron Von Zeppelin starts floating back to the left after
hitting the platform with the small spring ball on it, and then shoot an egg so
that it drops the large spring ball. Using the large spring ball, do a small
jump up to the platform on the right, and then use the small spring ball to
bounce up to the next ledge on the right. Drop off the right side of the ledge
to collect the first flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
Run back to the left and use the large spring ball to bounce up to the high
path on the right, collecting the three red coins along the way. After landing
on the path, run down the slope on the right and jump over the two Shy Guys on
Stilts along the way. At the right side of the path, eat both Lantern Ghosts
and jump onto the yellow platform to exit the first cave section.
After exiting the cave, follow the platform up to the top of the track and
collect the three red coins. Drop down to the path and run along to find three
Shy Guys on Stilts. Eat them all, and then shoot an egg at the winged cloud to
receive five stars. Continue right and jump through the middle ring at the top
of the slope, and then run down the slope at the other side. Jump over the gap
at the end of the slope and jump/stomp on both Shy Guys on Stilts. Go back to
the left and stomp the post under the tulip three times, then run right to
collect a red coin and the second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
Jump up to the yellow ledge above and run back to the left until you get under
the tulip. Hold A to bring up the egg target, and then press either L or R to
stop the egg target at the lowest point. When the tulip opens, jump up and
shoot an egg down into the tulip to receive eight stars. Run right and go up
the hill to come to a message block, which contains some information on
switches that open secret entrances.
Jump down off the blue rock to land on the platform below, and then turn left
to face a Piranha Plant. Shoot an egg at the Piranha Plant, and drop down into
the gap on the left to collect a red coin. Jump back up the platform and drop
down to the gap at the right side to collect another red coin. Jump up to the
platform again, and stomp the post twice at either side. Run under the platform
to collect the third flower.
FLOWER 4
--------
Jump back up to the platform and shoot an egg at the winged cloud to receive a
red switch. Jump on the switch, and run right to the red arrow pointing down.
Press down to enter a secret area. Shoot an egg at the winged cloud to reveal a
Metamorphosis Bubble. Touch the bubble to transform into the Mole Tank. Go
right and dig through the fluff to find the two red coins: one is the third
coin from the start and the other is at the top-right corner of the fluff.
After collecting both coins, dig down and hit the Yoshi Block, which will
return Yoshi to normal. Go right and enter the doors to exit the secret area
and return to the main level. Jump from the platform up to the blue rock on the
right, and jump from the blue rock up to the top of the message block. Hover
jump off the right side of the message block to collect the fourth flower.
FLOWER 5
--------
Run down the slope on the right and jump onto the post near the bottom. Stomp
the post three times, and then continue down the slope to enter another cave
section. After landing in the cave, walk slightly to the right and eat the Fang
that flutters toward you. Stomp the Shy Guy on Stilts, and eat the two Lantern
Ghosts shortly after. Run right up the slope and jump across to the mushroom.
Jump over to the next mushroom, and then jump over to the platform on the wire.
When the platform goes up high and is about to start falling back down, jump up
and land on the platform. Eat the Lantern Ghosts coming out of the pipe on the
left if you need to refill the egg supply, and then go to the edge of the
platform on the right. Shoot an egg that follows the line of coins to collect
six red coins and the fifth flower.
Drop down off the right side of the platform, and then fall through the paddles
on the right to land on the blue mushroom below. Fall down to the mushroom on
the right, and jump over the Shy Guy on Stilts to land on the next red
mushroom. Shoot an egg at the winged cloud up to reveal a beanstalk.
Climb up to the highest leaf on the left side of the beanstalk, and eat the
Fang that flies down. There are four coins above, and the two middle ones are
red. Shoot an egg at the two red coins, and then jump over to the ledge on the
right. Bounce on the large spring ball to exit the second cave section.
After exiting the cave section, shoot an egg up at the winged cloud to receive
five stars. Quickly run right under the goal ring and eat the 1UP balloon
before it gets carried away by a hidden Fly Guy, and then jump through the goal
ring to complete the level.

Level 1-7: Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy

FLOWER 1
--------
Run up the slope at the start of the level, and eat the Melon Bug at the top.
Jump over the gap to land on the grassy platform, and then drop down the other
side to land at the base of another slope. Push the nearby Melon Bug up the
slope and over the gap at the top. Jump over the gap to land near another Melon
Bug on the other side. Push this Melon Bug up the slope on the left, and he'll
fall down the gap to collect the first flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
Continue right to come the bottom of a large step. Shoot an egg at the Piranha
Plant if it hasn't already been hit by a Melon Bug, and keep moving right to
reveal a hidden winged cloud. Shoot an egg at this winged cloud to receive five
stars, and then jump both steps on the right. At the top, push one of the two
Melon Bugs down the grassy slope on the right to defeat five Tap-Taps. Run down
the slope and jump up the small step at the bottom to land near a locked hut.
Jump up to the wooden platform with the hut on it, and walk right until you see
three Tap-Taps on a platform over on the right. Wait until the two red Tap-Taps
have walked off the edge of the platform, and then jump over the small gap to
the platform on the right. When the remaining Tap-Tap has walked right, jump up
to the platform above and go over to the left side. Jump left and hover jump up
to the platform at the bottom-right corner of the fluff. Go to the left side of
this small platform, and shoot an egg up and left to collect the second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
Collect both flashing eggs, and then jump up to the middle of the platform on
the left after collecting the second flower. Shoot an egg straight up to hit a
winged cloud. A key will drop. Collect the key, and then jump up and over the
fluff on the left to drop back down to the grassy floor. Jump up the small step
on the right again, and jump back up to the platform with the hut. Press up to
enter it. In the bonus area, gather more coins than the Bandit before the 30
seconds are up and you will win a bonus item.
After exiting the bonus level, go right to the end of the platform, and wait
again for the two Tap-Taps to to walk off to the left. This time, shoot the
Tap-Taps with both flashing eggs, and two red coins will appear. Collect the
red coins, and then look up to find a watermelon. Shoot an egg to make it drop,
and then eat it. You will now have 30 watermelon seed bullets to shoot.
Jump over the small gap to the platform on the right, and when the remaining
Tap-Tap on the platform above walks left, jump up on the right side of the
platform. Quickly turn left and fire a seed to shoot the Tap-Tap off the
platform. Go right and jump on top of the block of fluff.
Stomp it to collect the red coin, and then jump out of the fluff to land on the
platform down on the right. Shoot an egg/seed up to the block of fluff above to
collect another red coin. Jump from the platform over to the grass slope on the
right, and run down it to find the middle ring. Pass through the middle ring,
and then jump over the high ledge on the right to collect the third flower.
FLOWER 4
--------
After landing on the grass floor on the other side of the high ledge, the Fuzzy
section will begin. If you still have the watermelon seeds left over from
earlier in the level, this would be the best place to use them. Go right and
jump up the first big step. Collect the three red coins above, and then
continue right along the path.
Shoot eggs/seeds at the Fuzzys that hover around this section, and then jump
over the gap to land on a higher section of path. Shoot an egg/seed at the
Piranha Plant that emerges soon after you land, and collect the two red coins
above. Continue right quickly and drop down the two steps before the Fuzzys get
too close. Hit the egg block at the bottom if you need to refill the egg
supply. Go right and jump over the ledge to land in a gap where the fourth
flower is found.
FLOWER 5
--------
Jump up the two steps on the right, and shoot eggs/seeds at the numerous Fuzzys
at the top. Jump over the small gap to land on a small section of floor, and
shoot an egg up at the winged cloud to receive five stars. Go right and drop
down the two steps to land on a section of floor with lots of coins above. Run
right until you see the flower above, and shoot an egg/seed up to collect the
fifth flower.
Run right and jump up the two steps. At the top of the steps, quickly shoot an
egg/seed at the Fly Guy that appears holding a 1UP. Jump over the big gap on
the right, and jump on one of the two Mildes to fire the other one off the
platform. Collect the two red coins above, and jump over the next gap to land
on the path up on the right. Shoot the winged cloud near the start of the path
to receive five stars, and then run right to enter the final area of the level.
Go right and jump over the two blocks to land on a bendy platform. You can
break these platforms by stomping on them, but there's no need to stomp this
one. Just walk on it to collect the red coin below, and continue right to find
another bendy platform. Stomp this platform to break it, and then jump through
the shallow water to collect three red coins. Jump up through the third bendy
bridge at the right side of the water, and go left to come to a slope. Go to
the top of the slope, and jump straight up to reveal a small spring ball. Jump
on the spring ball to enter a secret area.
After arriving in the secret area, jump up to the ledge on the left and
continue to find a Chomp Rock. Jump on top of the Chomp Rock and walk slowly to
the right to roll Chomp Rock away from the wall. When there's quite a big gap,
jump over to the left side of Chomp Rock and push it right to reveal a winged
cloud. Shoot an egg at the winged cloud and a beanstalk will grow.
Jump up the beanstalk to the top and then jump off at the right side to land on
a long cloud. Run along the cloud to the right, jumping up to collect all four
red coins along the way, and shoot an egg at the winged cloud at the end of the
cloud to receive five stars. Run back to the left and drop down the gap in the
clouds. Go right after landing, and eat the two Mufti Guys on the way to
the pipe. Go down the pipe to return to the main part of the level.
Go right after landing to come to the fourth bendy bridge in the area. Walk on
the bridge to collect the final red coin in the level. Continue right and jump
through the goal ring to complete the level.

Level 1-8: Salvo The Slime's Castle

FLOWER 1
--------
Run right at the start of the level and jump onto the sloped platform. Run up
to the top of the slope, and jump over to the rolling platform. From the
rolling platform, quickly jump up to collect both red coins and hover jump over
to the ledge on the right. Walk over to the right side of the ledge and jump
onto the green rotating platform.
Wait on the platform until it stops rotating, and then jump back over to a
green platform on the left. Collect both red coins, and then jump back over to
a green platform on the right. When the platform has moved close enough to the
rolling platform, jump up to the top of the rolling platform and quickly hover
jump to collect both red coins above it. Continue hovering right, and land on
the purple rotating platform.
Move the platform right and jump down to the platform on the other side.
Continue right to come to another rolling platform. Jump onto the left side of
the rolling platform and then quickly hover jump up and left to collect the
three red coins. Jump back onto the rolling platform, but this time hover jump
up and right to collect three more red coins and land on the small platform
above. Go to the right side of this platform, and use the thin platforms to
jump up through the gap. At the top of the gap, run left to collect a red coin,
and then drop down the wide gap to collect the first flower.
FLOWER 2
--------
After collecting the first flower, you will land on the rolling platform, so
quickly run right to avoid falling into the lava. After passing the rolling
platform, enter the pipe on the right.
After arriving in the second area, you should notice a Spray Fish in the water
over on the right. Wait for the Spray Fish to stop shooting water, and then
quickly jump onto the green platform that the ghost is holding. The platform
will go slowly up and right, and then it will quickly move left and down. When
it starts to move left and down, hover jump to land on a small ledge at the
entrance to a tunnel. Go left through the tunnel, and then walk left to collect
the second flower.
FLOWER 3
--------
Go through the pipe on the right to enter the second area again. Run and hover
jump twice to land on the platform at the top-right corner of the area,
collecting the third flower on the way.
FLOWER 4
--------
Go through the tunnel on the right to enter a small secret room. Collect both
red coins, pass through the middle ring to receive ten stars, and shoot the
