I know what you're talking about. Here is what they are talking about:

you have just started to invade the fire nation [when Katara tells you to open the gate
from inside]

you are playing as Sokka and Katara

there is a gate, and walls looking like this:

you are on this side of the gate, or below it.

I am also stuck on this level, here is what I found that I can do:

I can freeze a path over the water with Katara and body bend the enemy across it to the
lever switch, and when I walk around he changes his fire aim. I cannot get him to hit the
level, and Sokka can't throw his boomerang over the wall. I can't use water bending to
push the enemy into the switch, no make him direct his fire at the switch, as he cannot
get in the right position. That would probably be useless anyway, as the switch can only
be triggered with a direct attack, and bending does not effect it.

so...help?

is this the one with sokka and toph? I'm stuck at this level as well, and even if I use
Sokka's focus mode to boomerang the switch while I'm standing beside the first
step/platform, there's not enough time to step on the weight platform and it doesn't help
that the other switch usually goes off just a few milliseconds after I manage to get up
the first level of the platform.

Anyone else knows the answer? Please please please share...
