you need to use sokka's boomerang to draw a line through the switches to activate them at
the same time

I tried opening the gate by using the boomerang, but the switches can't be hit when I am
in front of the gate. to hit the switches i have to go down, but then I won't have time to
hit both.

Please help!!

and I've tried looking for any walkthough and guides and whatever and nothing comes up...

i have the answer: Remember the block of rock you used to press down the weight platform?
Put toph at the raised level and make her earthbend the rock to the left side of the map
so the one of them could go down and up without going all the way around. position both
characters to any switch, make them flick the switches, and have the one on the left side
of the map to quickly go up before the gate and stand on the weight platform. voila!
access to the next part.

Put the block on the left side of like stated above but place in right next to the switch.
have Topph stand on the block right next to the switch. Have Sokka stand in front of the
switch on the right. Start with Sokka and click the switch then use the arrow button on
your ds and switch to Topph and have her click her switch and then have her jump from the
block to the weight platform and you in....I hope this helps you....
