Walkthrough - Astarte,Legion,DagonAstarte HP1500 If you've got the 1,000 Blades spell, use it when you've got some distance between you and the enemy. Just activating the spell once will bring the enemy very near death (if it doesn't kill her outright), which is good because Astarte has a pretty devastating attack that she'll unload if you don't kill her quick. When fighting Astarte without the 1,000 Blades spell, use dash cancels to regain your mobility after every attack. Watch her movements carefully as you can usually predict her attacks. Her most basic attack is a forward thrusting stab that's not especially powerful, but still quick. Another attack to watch for comes as she leaps backwards and away from you. When she does this, simply move in the opposite direction to avoid the array of green projectiles that rain down in front of her. Astarte's most devastating attack is very quick to come out and often difficult to avoid. However, she'll precede her attack with a very distinct and unique yell, which should be your cue to jump over her. If you can't jump over her, watch out for a spray of hearts that dashes across the screen. Usually jumping is your best chance to avoid the attack (if you can't get behind her). If you get hit with the attack, your partner will begin attacking you, making the fight almost impossible. Legion HP2000 Legion is a powerful boss that can kill you quick if you're not careful. Fortunately, his (or its?) patterns are very predictable and consistent, making him a cinch if you go in with the right game plan. If you have the Paper Airplane sub-weapon attack, prepare to use it. If you don't have it, you can return to the City of Haze portrait and look for it in a secret area near the beginning of the stage. You'll also find the 1,000 Blades spell very useful. That spell can be found in the Sandy Grave portrait stage. Legion begins as a large mass of bodies in the form of a sphere. As you attack the groupings of bodies, chunks will fall off, revealing the enemy's vulnerable core. For the time being, focus only on destroying the shell of bodies that surrounds Legion's vulnerable center. We recommend breaking off the chunks of the shell starting with the very bottom (using the Paper Airplane weapon from a platform to the left), then making your way clockwise around Legion. You can avoid almost all attacks by staying on the platforms. Just watch for the tentacles to open and fire a quick laser beam your way. When you've destroyed all of the outer pieces of the shell, take out the last bit of body mass that covers the center of Legion. When the tentacled creature is fully exposed, his attack pattern will change, becoming decidedly more dangerous. The first attack you'll see is a spray of toxic puke that shoots out of each of Legion's tentacles. As this attack begins, drop to the bottom level of the room and run left to stay in between the streams of puke as the tentacles rotate around. The tentacles will reverse direction before the puke attack stops, so be ready to double back the other direction. After this attack is over, jump to a platform on the right side of the room. Without fail, Legion will follow with a series of laser blasts from his tentacles. If you're on the right platform, you should be positioned to avoid all of the lasers, making this a prime time for firing back with your own attack. Trigger the 1,000 Blades cooperative attack to pummel the core of Legion. When the attack is done, be ready to drop down to the ground to avoid another round of toxic puke spray. That's about all there is to the battle. Legion's attacks will continue to repeat in the same pattern. As long as you're patient, you should be able to eventually wear down the enemy with repeated 1,000 Blades attacks. When you've defeated Legion Dagon HP1800 The boss is Dagon, a small frog that rests on the top of a large fish. If you try attacking the fish itself, you'll find your efforts are useless—the fish is completely invulnerable. You'll need to concentrate your attacks on the frog while being careful not to touch the body of the fish. If you've got a good projectile sub-weapon, this is a good place to use it (we used the Dart). Fortunately, the attacks from this enemy are pretty easy to avoid. Often, the combination creature will sort of float upwards and fall onto the other side of the boss room. To avoid this quasi-attack, just run under Dagon as he switches sides. Dagon's most dangerous attack comes after he sucks up all of the water in the room. The fish begins spewing the water back out, filling up the room. The spray from the fish's mouth will hurt you bad if you don't avoid it. To best avoid it, hover just above the fish's head (right in front of the frog Dagon) with short jumps in the water. If you jump too high, you'll emerge from the water and quickly drop into the deadly spray. But keep your jumps short and you should be able to maintain your position and avoid the attack. While attacking Dagon, jumping over the fish's head to deliver your blows, watch out for the occasional small projectile that comes out from the fish's head. The projectile will float straight upwards, and it deals a considerable chunk of damage. To avoid it, simply limit the amount of time you spend floating over the fish's head. |
