Why do i need the magic sword

I am just about at the end of the rocky pass/near the purple rocks that won't get out of my way. Does anyone have a suggestion how you get saphira to knock over the rocks? Please help.

I defeated the boss but i cannot find a way to call saphira to knock over the rock. Is there an blue e sign anywhere on the ground? Please help. I need an accurate answer before i go crazy!!

When we have to go through the rocky pass, I manage to kill the kull but then I just run about not knowing what to do next,I can't find the way through!
