Chamber of secrets platforms

so im stuck on the part where I'm in the chamber and I've jumped up the platforms to the part where the basilisk's head and tail are coming out of two caves. i keep blasting the tail and it goes away for a few seconds, but there's nothing i can do! PLEASE HELP!!

Unregistered 0	0 Green Platform Sit on the green platform (Middle one) as soon as you hit the snakes tail jump onto the right platform next to it, get as close to the edge as you can and in the far right there will be another platform, when you jump double tap. you can see it here.
