I have the same problem with killing the large animals. I managed to catch a goat in a
large trap but he took it back to the cave and asked the girl to take care of it and she
let it die. I have caught one deer and one boar in the large traps, but the only thing
the game will allow me to do with them is shoot at them with the bow and arrows. I hit
them over and over until I run out of arrows but nothing happens. I end up having to
leave the area to go get stones for making more arrows and then the animal is gone when I
get back. I'm as perplexed as you are and there doesn't seem to be any answers out there!

You have to make a large traps using vine from the jungle and wood sticks. What I do: Go
to the Grassland and find an animal but don't shoot it or scare it. Figure out wich
direction its going. The aniomals walk, then stop and eat, then repeat.Put the large trap
in the animals path but don't get too close or else it will run away. Then, watch from a
distance but make sure you can still see thte animal. Most of the time, the animal will
just walkinto the trap but if it's ***, it will change directions which i hate.. When
you hear the animal crying for it's life, equip your bow and shoot the trapped animal
about 2-3 times. Collect your lard for deep frying and torches, fur for furniture, and
meat for an awesome food source.

Idk if its true but ur foot steps (keith duhh ) lol is a patern i mean the animal follows
ur foot steps go in front but not to close u scare the animal! But idk if its true make
sure it follows u tho and place it bow!!! Lmao im crazy but anyway if tht dont work place
a trap wer the animals most likey eat or in the flower cuz they eat there and u know they
cnt see it so there slow tails will get stuck also shoot the chest it mostly get hurts
