WELCOME BACK: STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE
Seeing things?  No, you're not. I've revamped this whole FAQ, cut down and
removed  unnecessary  rubbish  to  make this guide less cluttered and more
easy on the eyes. The previous one was somewhat "busy" and looks  annoying
I cringe every single  time I see it, I can't believe no one has complain?
Anyway!  I'm always improving,  but  then again it's also because I've too
much free time on my hands nowadays. ;P oh! And brand new ASCII Art I made
myself, it's nothing mind-blowingly awesome but hey! At least I created it
from scratch. Hoorah!

Hello! My name is, Dil. This is my first FAQ...  So please go easy  on  me
umm... I need to mention that English is not my native language, I'm Asian
yes I'm using  the  "I'm-Asian-so-please-excuse-my-bad-sentences/mistakes/
grammars-and-whatnot card."
Ok!  I actually hate writing about myself,  let's  talk a little bit about
gaming shall we? I promise to make this simple, short and sweet. :)
My very first game was "Crono Trigger"  back  in  1995  by Squaresoft (now
Square-Enix)  when  I  saw  my  brother  playing  it  on  his  SNES, I was
intrigued,  so when he was off to work, I would fire up his SNES and  load
the game in...
I was hooked! The experience was amazing! I was drawn into the story,  the
magic animations were crazy-cool  back then and still is now, the combined
techniques was "wow!"  it was then I realized I've a thing for RPGs... Any
form of it,  SRPG/Action-RPG/Card-RPG  (Yggdra Union for the GBA comes  to
mind).  But the  game that  got me into the SRPG genre was  "Final Fantasy
Tactics" for the PS1. Typical huh? I know.

HOW I DISCOVERED LUMINOUS ARC:
All thanks to word of mouth and  especially to a friend,  since  I've been
rather vocal of my love for  RPGs and SRPGs  in general, L.A. was  brought
to my attention. After watching a couple of previews and videos on YouTube
I knew I had to have this game no matter what!  I'm just itching for a new
SRPG experience. ;)
Some of the best SRPGs I've played so far includes:

I  strongly  suggest  you  go  through the basics of this FAQ first, get
yourself  familiarize  with  how I organized and arranged my FAQ. And if

o GAME STORY [ST!]
The story in this game  is nothing out of this world,  it's very generic
actually,  and it wasn't well put together, you can tell who's  the good
and  the  bad  guy  fairly  early  in  the  game,  and it seems the word
"subtle"  does  not  exist in their dictionary; every little things they
try  to  hide from you gives everything away. Make sense? I hope so, but
bizarre stuff really.

BACKGROUND:
LIGHT AND PEACE
The Eunus Knights from the East and the Zephyroth Knights from the West are
the holy protectors of the Luminous Church. Protected by these Knights, the
Luminous  religion  has  led  the  people of the world into a golden age of
peace and prosperity,
THE SHADOW COMES
As  a  new millenium drawns, a taint of evil has begun to spread across the
land.  Recent  attacks  by monsters and supernatural phenomena appear to be
the  work  of  the evil "Witch of Immolation" that appeared with a burst of
scorching  flames.  The  people  have  been  reminded of the destruction at
Aldheld, a world-shattering battle that took place a thousand years before.

THE PROTECTORS
"Protect  the  Light,  Condemn  the  Dark". This is the motto of Heath, Arc
Knight  in  the  Luminous Church, and leader of the Ever Garden, a facility
created to train a group of special soldiers to protect the Church in these
times of strife.

o CHARACTERS [CH!]
In  "Luminous Arc"  (L.A. from here on out)  sports  a diverse number of
party members, as with all SRPGs there will be a healer, a magic user, a
powerhouse  and  all  that  jazz! There's something for everyone to play
with.
Also! These are just my personal assesments, OPINIONS! So don't get  all
personal  and  crazy  and  then e-mail me telling me how good Pollon is,
and  how  I  am  going  to  burn in Hell for disagreeing with you. Cause
chances are; I'm stubborn and am not gonna agree but I will respect your
opinion,  and so should you (be respecting my opinion that is). Shall we

THE GARDEN CHILDREN:
The  Garden  Children are a bunch of kids taken in by the Church since they
were  young,  raised  to  fight  against  the  Witches.  TGC  consists of a
few youngsters; you will be introduced to  5  of  them  early  in the game.
These descriptions are taken from the game manual. Also if you're wondering
what  the  God  in  Heaven is NAME'S INITIAL at the end of my "MY OPINION,"
it's just a reference I'll use later in the guide, so just take note.

A  boy  who  lives  in  the  Ever  Garden with his comrades and his younger
brother  Theo.  He  is  a  bit stubborn at times, but has a strong sense of
right  and  wrong. He cares greatly for his brother and for his friends. He
greatly admires Heath and wants to be a Knight like him one day.
MY OPINION:

| The  hero  of the game not really admirable on the battlefield but his |
| skill set are  pretty  decent,  since most  of  them hit far and wide, |
| "Magnum"  is  awesome  remember that.  Also he gets slightly better in |

She  takes  care  of  cleaning at the Ever Garden with the exception of the
dishes. She cares a lot for Alph, for some reason.

| In  all  honesty I rarely use Lucia, if ever, her list of Magic Spells |
| is  nothing  to  write home about her stats are sub-par. I mainly just |

A  priestess  at  the  Ever  Garden.  She strongly believes in the Luminous
religion and enjoys the peace she gets by serving the Light. She is kind to
others,  with  a  warm heart, and believes in the teachings of the Luminous
Verses.

| love  his  brother  like  no other, I hated his voice-acting, but Theo |
| can  really shoot with his bow, his skill set are the worst I've seen, |

| so  putting  him on the front line is like, totallyyyyy sending him to |

Leon  has  lived in the Ever Garden since he was a small child, and grew up
with  Alph  and  the  others. His father was a renowned Knight in the heavy
cavalry,  known  as  the "Lion King," who lost his life in battle. Leon has
always  looked  up  to his father, and strives to become a stronger warrior
and live up to his father's legacy.

| Even though I pretty much hate Leon for his lame dialogue in the game, |
| I've to  admit  he's good on the battlefield. He delivers crazy damage |

Heath  is  an  Arc  Knight  for  the  Luminous  Church.  He is known as the
"Cleansing  Flame,"  and  is  respected  by those around him for his strong
faith  and skill in battle. He is prepared to throw himself into any battle
to fight for justice. Heath's title suits great knowledge of combat. He has
a  deep  hatred  of Witches, and believes that they should all be condemned
under the Luminous Church's power.
MY OPINION:

| Seriously   Heath  +  Leon  =  AWESOME!  He  left  early  but  he will |
| return  to  your  party  eventually...  OMG  SPOILERS?! :O He's  great |

o OTHER CHARACTERS (SPOILERS?):
When you progress further and further into the game, you will meet other
characters along the way that will  help aid you in your cause, they add
a little more flair  and  diversity into your  team,  but  I  personally
dislike  an  RPG with too many people, it's not like I will be using all
of them and leveling them up is a chore,  and  most  of them are fillers
A.K.A.  "I'm here to take up space and be an eyesore,  I also have sucky
stats and skill/magic set" anyway.  The  only  game  that pulled off the
"too-many-characters-card"  are  the Suikoden series and Final Fantasy 6
AND CRONO TRIGGER, of course CT being the best cause I'm biased. :P

Saki  has  one  of  the  worst  Skill  Set (next to Theo) in the game in my
opinion.  Skills  like "Fire & VoltCard," inflicts very little damage while
"SpdJutsu"  raises your own speed for 4 turns but what's the point in doing
this? Saki is already a character  of  speed!  "ChiStrike"  may possibly be
one of her better skill since it hits far and wide. You're better off using
physical  attack to deal real  damage with Saki or better yet; use her as a
decoy or shield BUT even that is a task too hard for her to undertake, Why?
Cause she die fast too.
Saki = Bloody Eyesore & a waste of people's time and space. PERIOD.

Nikolai sports an interesting set of Magic List: they're mostly buff (stat-
increasing  magics)  spells, beside having an annoying voice-acting in  the
game he's pretty useful. I always start with him casting ATK UP/SPEED UP on
Alph,  Leon  and  all my powerhouse characters. Nikolai isn't too bad with
his greatbow like Theo he's able to aim far, in fact much farther than Theo
ever could. NAME'S INITIAL (N).

Like  Saki  Kai's  Skill  Set is a little disappointing they're pretty much
selfish  skills  that buffs or raises the user's stat. Though Kai's able to
deliver  the  hurt  pretty  well on the battlefield, but he's seems to be a
little  weak.  Not  much to say about him here... Except maybe Samurais are
way cooler than Ninjas. NAME'S INITIAL (K).

M  E  L  /  T  O  R  R  E  N  T   W  I  T  C  H

Advocate  of  the Water Element, Mel is just another Cecille to take in her
place when Cecille becomes WHOAMG! SHE'S EXTREMELY USEFUL AS A HEALER. Take
time  to  level  her  up  until she has access to her most powerful healing
magic  known as "SALVATION." Once you've that consider yourself invincible.
Bring Mel in every battle possible. NAME INITIAL (M).

Don't use Mavi for her magic; first being the fact that her line-up is
effin' lame, 2nd she's weak magically you'll find that having her attack
physically with her fist will yield more damage than you ever will with
her spells. The only redeeming magic she ever possess is the stats-buffing
spells like "Guard UP" and so on. NAME'S INITIAL (MA).

HIGH  MAGIC  STAT,  I love using her "Drang" spell, level her up as much as
you  can  she's  much more stronger magically than anyone else in the game.
Though she's a little slow in the speed department. NAME'S INITIAL (CL).

What can I say about her? Beside being lazy and always wanting to sleep, VV
can move  really far with her flying carpet (much like Saki, cept' Saki has
no  carpet),  and  I really like her  "Raging Wind"(?) spell, that inflicts
Confuse  status  on the enemy,  it  really helps a lot, otherwise her magic
set aren't all that impressive, take in quite a bit of damage and her magic
stat are nothing to be amazed about. NAME'S INITIAL (VV).

Original name was Vanessa Witch of Immolation, but what the heck that's a
name too long I prefer Crimson Witch or something like that. Keep things
simple please. Anyway Vanessa is pretty much an an all-rounders, her
ATK, DEF and MAG aren't all that shabby use her whenever you get the
chance, though sucky thing is she joins your party as a permanent member
late in the game. NAME'S INITIAL (V).

Ok! Since I added him I might as well do a small review on this guy, he got
a  high  Attack/Strength stat I admit, but his accuracy needs a little more
work...  Even  with  everything combined to raise his accuracy Pollon still
misses a lot.  I  don't  know maybe some of you guys will find him a gem or
something  but  I  see  nothing.  And  yes that's it my review, *sticks out

In L.A.  there  are  two  types  of  control, the button control and the
Stylus.  To switch between these two, press Select (in battle), or go to
Options  to change manually. Or better yet, go and read the "Instruction
Booklet." ;)
