If you're racing in a community, pay attention to the rules. If you pay attention, you can get some ideas on what tracks to use. If it's mirror mode, try something that people get their brains messed up on, like Mirrored Mushroom Gorge; just make sure you don't get fooled. If only mushrooms are allowed, take a track with a lot of shortcuts that require mushrooms/stars, like Toad Circuit. If only shells are allowed, take a fast-paced course where boosts are seen often, like Rainbow Road, where you can also knock people out of the air with Spiny Shells. If it's 150 CC, take a track that you're good at (NOT MAKA WUHU).

(We will refer to it as WML.) There is a massive glitch just after the section line on Section 2. You might want to save a mushroom for it. There is a fence here - U-turn around it and drive into the lake. (If you have a Shroom, use it.) Lakitu drops you off near the line for Section 3 - that's about 30 seconds knocked off the course. On Maple Treeway, after the start line, turn right. There is a pile of leaves which slows you down (I'd recommend a mushroom or an off-road car) and then there is a path with two speed ramps which takes you straight to the cannon!

If you're in a race on Maka Wuhu, make sure you're low in the standings and try to get a mushroom. Keep racing as usual without losing or using the mushroom until you reach section 2. Make sure you're in front of the cave. There should be a lake to your right (left in mirror mode). Use your mushroom to drive yourself into it. Lakitu will drop you behind the castle, cutting off a major amount of time, but he'll take away up to 3 coins and any other mushrooms in case you had 3. You now drive as usually woud to finish the race, usually giving you first or second (if a faster opponent does the same thing).

If you fall off the track or get stuck somewhere for more than a couple moments Lakitu comes to pull you out and place you on the track again. When he picks you up, wait until you're dropped then press the acceleration at the exact moment you’re dropped onto the track and press on the Y or A button. Time it right and you’ll get a Turbo Boost for a short period of time.

To get a turbo boost at the start of a race do not hold the acceleration button down before the countdown starts. Wait until just after the number 2 in the countdown disappears and then hold down the A or Y button. If done correctly you will receive a turbo boost as soon as the race starts.

Near the end of the Music Park Track there is a segment where these Musical Notes bounce up and down every few seconds. When these Musical Notes bounce they make the ground around them tremble and if they manage to make you bounce it will cause you to lose speed. If you time it correctly and press the R Button right when you are bounced you will get a Turbo Boost for a short period of time.

Whenever you are about to go off a ramp press the R button to jump right when you are at the edge of the ramp for a turbo boost. If done correctly your character will perform a trick midair and you will receive increased speed for a short time.

When you receive mario kart 7 data from someone via streetpass, go to the Mario Kart Channel to access the streetpass data which includes the kart customization that person set on his channel profile. Select Grand Prix to race in a Prix that person set up on his profile. Place ahead of that person's mii character and if that person choose a kart customization that includes a part that you don't have yet, you will unlock that part. For example, if the person you street passed used a kart body you didn't unlock yet and you beat his/her mii in his Grand Prix, you will unlock that kart body for your own use.

there are two shortcuts on kalamiri desert. the first on is up a ramp on your left just near the starting line and the next one is on ur right after the first one. this is a good way of dodging the trian because you have to wait for the train to go past.
