Walkthrough - Demo FAQ/WalkthroughMetroid Prime Hunters Demo: First Hunt FAQ/Walkthrough Version 1.0 by Dswizard: M M EEEEEE TTTTTTT RRRRRR OOOOO I DDDDDD Prime Hunters MM MM E T R R O O I D D M M M M E T R R O O I D D M M M M EEEEEE T RRRRRR O O I D D FIRST HUNT M M M E T R R O O I D D M M E T R R O O I D D M M EEEEEE T R R OOOOO I DDDDDD Demo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Metroid Prime First Hunt is a demo game that comes with the DS. It has 3 training levels, a multiplayer mode and a movie that can be unlocked. // This FAQ should only be found on the following sites: * Neoseeker http://www.neoseeker.com * My Homepage http://freespace.virgin.net/alexander.bramham If this FAQ appears anywhere else, e-mail me. My e-mail: alexander.bramham@virgin.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Version History ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1.0 - 60% Complete ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Contents ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Regulator - Survivor Morph Ball - Multiplayer - Options - Records Movie Credits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Regulator ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first of the 3 training missions, in regulator you must progress through a level collecting holograms before the time expires. The level is very linear, with no maze elements and takes about 5-10 minutes depending on how good you are. The time limit is 10 minutes. The level consists of enemies, Aliens that take two hits with your power beam, and Metroids that attach to your visor to drain your energy. At the end is the boss Dark Samus who gives you the final hologram to win the game. Walkthrough: - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Survivor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are attacked by constant enemies in one big room. The level ends when you run out of health, there isn't a time limit. It's not that hard to get a high score, because of the bonus score system. As long as you don't miss your shots, you can get a massive score: *----------------------------* |Kills Multiplier Bonus| *----------------------------* | 1 1 1 | | 2 2 x 2 4 | | 3 3 x 3 9 | | 4 4 x 4 16 | | 5 5 x 5 25 | | 6 6 x 6 36 | | 7 7 x 7 49 | | 8 8 x 8 64 | | 9 9 x 9 81 | | 10 10 x 10 100 | | 11 11 x 11 121 | | 12 12 x 12 144 | | 13 13 x 13 169 | | 14 14 x 14 194 | | 15 15 x 15 221 | *----------------------------* The bonus is added to your score when you die or miss a shot. Getting combos is the only way to win. As you can see above, if you get 15 consecutive kills without missing, instead of getting 15 points you get 221 points, a whopping 206 more! Survivor is the worst of the 3 training missions, the only reason you have of playing it is to get a hi-score. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morph Ball ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My favourite of the training missions, you are as a morph ball and cannot morph back into Samus. You have 55 seconds to navigate round the maze collecting the modules. The modules give you 10 points each and the multiplier table applies as well. The multiplier continues as you get the modules in order. If you miss a module and get the one after that, the multiplier is reset and the module you missed disappears. You don't get points for killing enemies, there are some of those spike bugs, but they aren't much trouble. Just ignore them. So, the highest possible score is when you get all the modules in order and reach the end. I have done this about 3 times. :) Walkthrough: - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Multiplayer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Once you have selected multiplayer death match, a new set of options appears. Start and Join Game. Select Join New Game to join somebody else's game. Click on the name of the host who's game you want to join. If there are no hosts, you can become a host and have others join your game. Select Create New Game. As host you decide which level to play on and when to start the game. Tactics: - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Options ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Select Options from the Main Menu. There are 4 things to select: Name: Select this and type in your username with the stylus. The name you choose works the same way as in PictoChat, to distinguish you from the others. Select OK to keep the name on the screen, or Cancel to go back to the original name before you selected to change your name. Records: Displays your hi-scores. The default records are: /////////////////////// /////////////////////// /////////////////////// / Regulator / / Survivor / / Morph Ball / / 5000 5:00 / / 100 75 kills / / ------ --:00 / / 4000 6:00 / / --- -- kills / / ------ --:00 / / 3000 7:00 / / --- -- kills / / ------ --:00 / / 2000 8:00 / / --- -- kills / / ------ --:00 / / 1000 9:00 / / --- -- kills / / ------ --:00 / /////////////////////// /////////////////////// /////////////////////// Control Mode: You can change the way you control the game. Click on the one that suits you best. I would not reccomend DR and DL as it is really slow and hard to move the gun/crosshair. TR and TL are good and quick, but S lets you point your gun before shooting, which is good for getting combos. Erase Data: It erases all the data on your game. That means your name, records and the movie if you unlocked it. Use it if you are selling this gameor if you have lost a million times on multiplayer and want a clean record. Back: Go back to the main menu. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Records ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ E-mail in your records for the training modes. My e-mail: alexander.bramham@virgin.net /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// / Nickname / Regulator / Survivor / Morph Ball / /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// / dswizard / 10120 8:28 / 625 25 kills / 72250 51:70 / /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Movie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To unlock it, get a score on the records boards for each of the 3 training modes. This means getting a score higher than the 5th score default. The movie will then be played to you. You can access it on the title screen as a flashing dot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Credits ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ dswizard - For so kindly making this FAQ. My Dad - For driving me to Gamestation at midnight March 10th, to be the first to get a DS in the UK. My e-mail: alexander.bramham@virgin.net *********** * THE END * *********** |
