have got picture of cobweb up but no box to take anything out to get rid of it

I know there are more levels but I don't know how to get to them. I've been through all the levels for all three detectives - it always ends with the credits and the note that taking on more challenges will open more levels. The lock on the menu remains closed - I assume there is some trick to opening it - Can someone respond?
