U must have the game and a NDS

At the "select a file" screen, keep pressed L and R buttons and choose one of your saved game files with the A button.
Now you'll play in the game as Luigi instead of Mario!

On the main menu.

When you are going to pick a file to play on. Hold down L+R and press A on the file you want.

Pause the game in an world (not in lvl) and enter cheat!

This is my only cheat for this game. This unlocks challenge mode. Has anyone figured this out already

While paused on the map, press L R L R X X Y Y to enter the secret Challenge mode. You will now be unable to go back to an area that has scrolled off the screen while playing a level. This cheat only works after you finish the game.

You just have to beat the game, and you'll be able to get all the mushroom houses back

Hard to do

First and more importantly you must have or collect five gold coins. At any world you have levels and toad houses that are on the map, but you don't pass through in your mission. There is always a sign blocking the path leading to a hidden level or toad house. When you read it, it asks you if you want to spend 5 gold coins to open this level or toad house. Right after it opens the game asks if you want to save. This is especially helpful when you can't reach a tower or castle. You can use the Life cheats and save it with multiple lives at a castle or tower before passing it.

TO GET ALOT OF LIFES REALLY EASY YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE FIRST LEVEL AND GET BIG THEN SMASH THROUGH THE BRICKS THAT LEAD YOU TO THE FLAGPOLE WHILE STILL BEING BIG IF YOU SMASH ALL THE BRICKS YOU SHOULD GET 5 LIVES REPEAT IF YOU WANT MORE LIVES

To save your game anywhere on the map screen, beat the final castle in World 8. When you restart, you will have a star next to your save and you'll get the "Save" option added to your menu in the map screen.

Go to level W6-6 if you have passed it this far. This is an easy level, but at the end it there are 4 tubes that shoot you into the air. Get into the 3rd one and it will launch you to the top of the flagpole. When you reach the top it will give you an extra life. Also if you collect 100 coins it will also give you an extra life. This works in any level.
