Does my dog have to be alone?

Does my dog have to be alone for it to leave the house after 30 mi***es at the HOME screen and bring me back a present? Because i had all 3 of my dogs at my house, and after 30 mi***es, none had left...? So my question is, does my dog have to be alone to wander off????
