Walkthrough - Nintendogs FAQ/Walkthrough=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Nintendogs Chihuahua and Friends FAQ/Walkthrough (DS) Time I Started This Guide: 10/11/05 Version: 2.8 Author: KoritheMan E-Mail: verykoolguy2002@yahoo.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ------------------------------------ | Table of Contents | ------------------------------------ | 1. Introduction | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| While Nintendogs may sound retarded, it's more fun than it may sound. The object (obviously) about Nintendogs is to raise your dog. You can have up to three dogs at one time, but if you go beyond three dogs, your other dogs you purchase get deposited in a Dog Hotel for later use. Also, you have to feed your dog everyday, give him drink everyday, take him out for walks, brush him, bathe him, all the basics. There are also contests you can enter your dog in, and you can even link up with another Nintendogs player and check out his dog, and play with it and stuff. Also, you teach your dog tricks on Nintendogs. Overall, this is not a bad game, but it gets boring quite fast. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 2. Version History | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| Version 1.0 / Completed the guide. Version 1.1 / Added two new Codes n' Secrets in the section, and another question in the FAQs section of the guide. Version 1.2 / Added a little something to the FAQ. You will probably never notice. This was "supposed" to be the final version, but it is not. Version 1.3 / This is not the final version, obviously, as I fixed the margins of the FAQ, and added some items. Thanks to Paul Almer for giving me the info on them. I will hold off on the last versions until I truly feel the guide has no need for an update. One more thing I added was another question to the FAQs section. Version 1.4 / Added a section called "Unlockables", which is section number 14. Also added a ton of information about the competitions, and a good bit of other things, so check it out for yourself! Version 1.5 / Added another update. Nothing major, though. Version 1.6 / Fixed some info on Code n' Secret #4. That's it. Version 1.7 / Added some more information to the Disc Competition In-Depth Information part in this FAQ. Also, added another site that has permission to use the FAQ. Also, added how much money you win from the Master Class and Championship on Agility Trials. Nothing else worth mentioning. Version 1.8 / Added a FAQ to the FAQs section, also added some information on how much money you get from the Competitions on Beginner Class, Open Class, and Expert Class. Not all of that information is complete yet, though, so please, just give me some time. I'll have it. Version 1.9 / Added another FAQ to the FAQs section, and also added some info regarding the money you win in the competitions. More with the competitions to come later. Also, fixed Code n' Secret #5, and credited the person who gave me that information. Thank you! :D Version 2.0 / Removed Code n' Secret #8 from the Codes n' Secrets section of the FAQ, as that was inaccurate information according to someone who e-mailed me. Thanks for pointing that out man! Version 2.1 / Added something minor to the FAQs section. Version 2.2 / Corrected a typo in the Introduction section, and also added a small bit of information to the Trainer Points information in the Game Basics section. Nothing major in this update. Version 2.3 / Finally added the amount of money you win for each place (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd) in the competitions. Also, added another FAQ to the FAQs section of the guide. More to come soon! Version 2.4 / Added another FAQ to the FAQs section of the FAQ. Version 2.5 / Yet another version. All I did this time was add another Code n' Secret to the FAQ. The next version "could" be the final one, but I doubt it. Version 2.6 / Added some accurate info to the competitions section about how much money you win on them. Version 2.7 / Corrected something, thanks to LMT! Version 2.8 / Added two more things to the Codes n' Secrets section, thanks to davgamerx! |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 3. Dogs | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| You can get all the dogs from each version (even though this is the Chihuahua version) except for the Dalmation and the Jack Russell Terrier. To get those, you'll have to find some rare items. The only difference in each version aside from that are the version exclusive items, and the fact that you can start off with breeds that you can't in the other versions. This section will list all of the dogs in this game, including the Dalmation and the Jack Russell Terrier. One more thing: You can buy each dog from Kennel (except for the Dalmation and the Jack Russell Terrier). NOTE: You can eventually unlock all 18 dogs in any version by just going through the game. Also, each dog has a different personality. For example, if your brother bought a Chihuahua and you have one too, that doesn't mean that both of your dogs will have the same personality just because they are of the same breed. All dogs, no matter what breed they are, are different. The Dogs That Are Automatically Available In Nintendogs: Chihuahua and Friends: Chihuahua German Shepherd Dog Boxer Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Yorkshire Terrier Shetland Sheepdog The Dogs That Are Automatically Available In Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends: Miniature Dachshund Golden Retriever Beagle Pug Siberian Husky Shih Tzu The Dogs That Are Automatically Available In Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends: Labrador Retriever Miniature Schnauzer Toy Poodle Pembroke Welsh Corgi Miniature Pinscher Shiba Inu Hidden Dogs: Dalmation Jack Russell Terrier Note: The Dalmation and the Jack Russell Terrier are available in each version of the game, but are unlocked by rare items (see the Items section). |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 4. Storyline | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| Well, let's see. You simply insert the game into your DS, turn on the "POWER", and then you will be prompted to select a dog after knocking on the door of Kennel. After acquiring your dog, you are off to raise it as your own, and teach it tricks and such. All the basics of raising a dog. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 5. Controls | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| A Button: Confirm selected actions B Button: Cancel selected actions L Button: Does nothing R Button: Does nothing Start Button: Does nothing Select Button: Does nothing Stylus/Touch Screen: This is how the game works. As you can see from what I stated about the controls above, the buttons do hardly anything |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 6. Game Basics | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| Lightbulb: This lightbulb will appear everytime you do something to your dog that will enable to him to be able to begin learning a trick. For example, if you were to touch down on his head to make him use "Sit", then this lightbulb would appear on the top right corner of the screen. When this lightbulb appears, touch it with the stylus, and then input your voice command for the trick you are trying to learn. It may take several tries. Also, it's a good idea to try and use the exact same pronouncation and the same accent each time you teach your dog a trick, to avoid confusing your dog (more on this in the Tricks section of the guide). Bone: If you praise your dog enough, or if you keep playing it him and teaching it tricks, then you'll see a gold bone appear. When this appears, quickly grab the stylus and move the bone into his mouth, and he'll chew it and it'll make it love you more. This gold bone will appear more than once. Feeding Your Dog: This isn't hard. This is located on the Supplies List icon when you press the red arrow on the top left corner of the screen. Anyway, to feed your dog, simply go to the "Supplies List" icon, and select a Dog Food Can, or Dry Food to feed it and give it to it. You will have to feed your dog everyday to be sure that it doesn't starve. If your dog is not fed for long periods of time, it may feel neglected and run away from home. Giving Your Dog Drink: This is also located in the Supplies List area. You give it drink via a Water Bottle, or drink via a Milk Carton. If you don't give your dog drink everyday or often (I would suggest, and I hope you would too, often because your dog gets thirsty a lot faster than it does get hungry) it may feel neglected and run off. Walking Your Dog: If you wanna walk your dog, simply go to the "Go Out" icon by pressing the red arrow at the top left of the screen. You can only walk your dog every 30 minutes. When you walk it, you can find other dogs on the road, or find items which can sometimes be rare! Walking your dog builds up its stamina, which means you'll gradually be able to take longer walks. Red Arrow: At the top left of the screen, there is a red arrow. The red arrow brings up tons of things. I do not feel that I need to explain it. Dog Icons: There are three dog icons when you press the red arrow. Two of them are mere shadows until you get your other two dogs. The first one, which is where your first dog fits in (duh), is where you can find information about your dog. By clicking the "?" mark on this icon, you can find the Trick List which will show all of the tricks your dog has learned. Also, you can view the time of you have spent with your dog, as well as other things. Supplies List: The Supplies List is found by pressing the red arrow on the top left of the screen. The Supplies List menu brings up the screen where you can feed your dog, give it a drink, and it also lists the books that you what to do on this game such as the Dog Training Book. More on this in the Items section of the guide. Deleting Tricks: Click the "?" mark on your dog's picture after you press the red arrow. Then, go to Trick List and you can delete tricks if you want. Trainer Points: For each minute you spend with your dog, you'll earn one Trainer Point. Trainer Points are used to unlock items and the like. You can also get Trainer Points by walking your dog, but don't do the "Walking Without Waiting" glitch listed in the Codes n' Secrets section of the FAQ, as you won't be able to earn them that way. Finally, if your dog eats trash or loses in a competition, you lose Trainer Points. Parks: When you go to walk your dog, there are some parks you can enter in the area. Parks help your dog train for Disc Competitons and Agility Trials. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 7. Kennel Description: Kennel is where you buy dogs. This is where you got your first dog from in the beginning of the game. Interior Decorator Description: This is where you buy add-ons for your house. Drop Off Description: You can drop off your dogs here (only if you have more than one dog). Pick Up Description: Pick up the dogs you have deposited here. Note: You can only have three dogs in your house at one time. Donate A Dog Description: Give a dog to the Dog Hotel so that someone else can have that dog. You can't do it unless you have more than one dog. This is great if you do not have a friend to trade with on Bark Mode, and if you want to get rid of the dog. Discount Shop Description: These are houses with a bone symbol on them when you walk your dog. They house the same items as the Pet Supply Store, but they are at cheaper prices! Blue Dot Description: After you walk your dog once, you'll notice blue dots when you take him/her for a walk again. Blue dots indicate where your dog has used the bathroom. This is considered your dog's "territory". Eventually, your dog will come back around and smell this spot. The dot will flash blue if you run into a dog near this spot. When this happens, your dog and the other dog will often get in fights! |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 8. Tricks | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| There are tons of tricks in this game. There are also two types of tricks: Basic, and Advance. I'll list all of them below. NOTE: The game makes you teach your dog the command "Sit" after you get it from Kennel. Also, you can only teach your dog 3 or 4 tricks per day (24 hours). Not only that, your dog can only learn up to 15 tricks. Period. It'll learn even less, depending on the difficulty of the trick that you teach it (e.g. if you teach it an advanced trick, it won't be able to learn an exact number of 15 tricks). Depending on how much you befriend your dog, it'll learn the tricks almost off bat. Note that some tricks are harder for certain dogs to do. For example, on my first file in this game, it took me about 15-20 tries before I could actually learn Roll Over. Whereas on my second file it didn't take me near that amount of time, but it took forever to learn jump on the second file, so just be patient and know your dog is different from others. Finally, try and pronounce your voice command for your dog to learn a trick the same way each time, followed by the same accent, to avoid confusing your dog. IMPORTANT NOTE: You will probably notice while teaching your dog tricks that three red ? marks will appear above its head. When the red ? marks appear, it means your dog didn't understand the specified command. If you see a blue ? mark, it means it got confused with another command that it already knows. Remember this, as it is very important and essential when trying to get your dog to learn tricks. Basic Tricks: Sit Description: This makes your dog sit down (obviously). You get this trick when you first get your dog, because the game makes you learn it. How To Do It: When your dog is standing, move the stylus down on his head to make him sit. Shake Description: Allows your dog to wave at someone (don't ask me why the game calls this Shake). How To Do It: When your dog is standing, lift up its right paw. Note that you can also do another form of this with the dog's left hand. That is considered an advanced (mirror) trick. Lie Down Description: Your dog will lay down when it learns this. How To Do It: When your dog is in "Sit" position, touch his head down with the stylus and he'll lie down. Roll Over Description: This makes your dog roll over. Kinda obvious. How To Do It: Make your dog sit, then lie down. Then, draw a straight line horizontally with the stylus. Your dog will be on its side. Now, draw a straight line up with the stylus. and teach him the voice command for Roll Over. Spin Description: Your dog will chase its tail. How To Do It: When your dog is standing, grab his tail with the stylus, and he'll chase his tail. Keep doing this until you learn it. Jump Description: Make your dog jump. How To Do It: When your dog shakes its butt, tap above its head twice, and it'll jump. Keep this up till it learns it. Beg Description: Your dog will stand up on its two legs, with its other legs in the air in a begging position. How To Do It: This can be a bit hard to do, as the Dog Training Book states. However, if you are good friends with your dog, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Anyway, to do it, when your dog is standing up, then from the bottom, draw a straight line up with the stylus and it should stand on two legs, with the other two in the air. Teach it the voice command for Beg when it does this. Advanced Tricks: IMPORTANT NOTE: Advanced tricks can be extremely hard for your dog to do, depending on its breed. The Shiba breed has the easiest time of performing these "advanced" tricks. When you enounter an advanced trick in the game, you probably won't know what to input for the voice command if you happen to touch the lightbulb (the lightbulb disappears really fast). Try and think a name for the move your dog does, so that the next time it does it, you will be able to teach it the ability without you getting excited and messing it up. Advanced commands also require certain abilities. For example, the Flip technique, which I am going to list below, requires Roll Over and Jump. Flip Description: Your dog will perform a huge backflip. Required Commands: Roll Over, Jump How To Do It: Make your dog lie on its back (like you did to learn Roll Over). Then, don't pet it, but instead make it jump. Also, it helps if your dog is fed, and given water. Don't pet your dog when it is on its back, or it'll think you mean to tell him that the trick is no more. Keep trying, as this takes a lot of patience. Backflip Description: Your dog will perform a backflip. Required Commands: Sit, Jump How To Do It: Make your dog sit, then immediately make it jump. Keep doing it, because it could take a while, and be sure to press the lightbulb immediately. Handstand Description: Your dog will perform a handstand. Required Commands: Lie Down, Beg How To Do It: Make your dog lie down. When it is laying down, immediately make it use the command "Beg". There is another way to do it. Here's how: When your dog is shaking its butt, quickly draw a straight line from down to up and sometimes your dog will do a handstand! Spin Around Description: While standing, your dog will spin around. Required Commands: Spin, Beg How To Do It: Make your dog use "Beg", then "Spin". Remember not to pet your dog while it is doing this, or it'll mess up. Dance Description: Your dog will do a dance. Required Commands: Beg How To Do It: Take one of your dog's paws, and help it up. Your dog should now be on his hind paws, and be steady as well. Finally, let go of its paw and it'll start dancing. Hop Description: Your dog will hop. Obviously. Required Commands: Dance, Jump How To Do It: Make your dog dance, then make it jump immediately to perform this command. Keep it up until your dog learns it. A New Kind of Jump Description: Your dog will jump even higher than with the normal Jump command. Required Commands: N/A How To Do It: This depends on the mood your dog is in. First off, do the same exact thing you did for Jump. If your lucky, your dog will jump extremely high. Up to your stylus above his head! WOW! Breakdance Description: Your dog will spin on its back. Required Commands: Roll Over, Spin How To Do It: Make your dog roll on its back, then immediately make it do Spin. Keep doing this until your dog learns Breakdance. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 9. Bathing | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| I don't know why I included a section for this, but I did. Since we have one, I may as well explain "some" information about it. You can bathe your dog at any time. The game restricts you from walking your dog until every 30 minutes, but you can bathe your dog anytime. Always remember to bathe your dog until his status appears "Beautiful" on the screen where it shows you how much time you've spent with your dog and all. When your dog is beautiful, it'll help to win contests. A LOT. Your dog can go through these stages of cleanliness: Beautiful Description: This is obtained when you give your dog tons of bath. Even the status "Clean" cannot compare to this. Message To Know You're At This Status: " is feeling very good now!" Clean Description: Your dog is clean, but not beautiful. Easily obtained. Message To Know You're At This Status: " is clean!" Normal Description: Your dog is neither clean nor dirty. Message To Know You're At This Status: " is somewhat clean now." Dirty Description: Your dog is dirty. Message To Know You're At This Status: " is dirty." Note: This message may be wrong, because I've never actually got to see what it says on this state, because I washed my dog more than once in one shampoo use. Filthy Description: Your dog is filthy Message To Know You're At This Status: " is filthy." Note: This message may be wrong, because I've never actually got to see what it says on this state, because I washed my dog more than once in one shampoo use. Also, a final note. You need to use the Wire Brush for long-haired dogs, and the Rubber Brush for short-haired dogs. ALWAYS brush your dog after giving it a bath. You can also bathe your dog till it becomes Beautiful, even if it is at Filthy, in just one shampoo use. This conserves money and time. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 10. Bark Mode | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| In Bark Mode you can link up with another wireless partner who is currently playing Nintendogs. Even if the wireless user has another version aside from Chihuahua & Friends, you can still link up with him/her. In Bark Mode, even after the wireless partner has left, you can pet the other person's dog to see how it reacts. Also, you can trade dogs with another wireless partner. Finally, you can send the other player's dog a present from your own inventory. In Bark Mode you can also send the other player a 5 second voice message from your "White Record" (more on that in the Items section). Other than that, Bark Mode is useless. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 11. Contests | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| There are three types of contests (competitions and trials) that you can enter in Nintendogs. In all three versions to be exact. I will list all the information needed in this section below. Also, in the Obedience Trials, you'll have to do what you are prompted to do on the screen. For example, on an Obedience Trial, you will sometimes be prompted to hold Sit for 15 seconds. Do what the screen tells you. Also, on other competitions (Disc Competition and Agility Trial), you won't be prompted to do any form of commands. Also, at the end of the Obedience Trial, you will have to do a Free Performance which means you can make your dog do whatever tricks you want without being commanded to do what the game wants you to do (duh). Other than that, not much else to list. IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you feed, give water to, and bathe your dog before entering an Agility Trial, a Disc Competition, or an Obedience Trial, as it'll help you win a whole lot. IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all of the information about the amount of money you win may be 100% accurate, but I tried to make it accurate, but I have not played this game in forever. Also, I got the info about if you make first place in the competitions how much money you get, from the message boards on GameFAQs, so credit goes to NintendogBeast for giving me that information. Thanks! Note that the second and third place prize information was written of what I "think" may the correct answer. Please e-mail me and correct me if I'm wrong in ANY of the info listed below. Thank you. Also note that all credit goes to Nathan Arboleda and a couple other people for sending me info about how much money you win on the competitions! Thanks! Note also that this section is almost complete (after the correct amount of money is written down, it'll be complete). Agility Trial Description: Test your dog's agility here, while trying to get through the obstacle course. Disc Competition Description: Try and get your dog to win several competitions revolving around the frisby-type items. Obedience Trial Description: The most fun of the competitions in my opinion. Make your dog perform the specified commands given to you by the game. Also, be sure to bathe/brush your dog before attempting one of these. Obedience Trial In-Depth Information: Beginner Class Description: The easiest of the classes. It doesn't take much effort to win here, so don't worry. Required Tricks: Sit, Shake, Lie Down Money For Winning: 1st Place: $100, 2nd Place: $50, 3rd Place: $30 Open Class Description: Slightly harder than the first one, but it's still not much to worry about. Still, try and make sure your dog is a trained a bit more. Required Tricks: Sit, Shake, Lie Down, Spin, Roll Over Money For Winning: 1st Place: $200, 2nd Place: $100, 3rd Place: $60 Expert Class Description: This is where the competitons start getting a bit tough. However, if you have been training your dog well up to this point, you should still come out okay. Just make sure you have trained it a good bit, and that it listens to your commands easily. Required Tricks: Sit, Shake, Lie Down, Spin, Roll Over, Jump, Beg Money For Winning: 1st Place: $600, 2nd Place: $300, 3rd Place: $150 Master Class Description: A pretty tough competition, to say the least. Make sure your dog is VERY well trained, and that you've spent a ton of time with it, or you might lose. Required Tricks: Sit, Shake, Lie Down, Spin, Roll Over, Jump, Beg Money For Winning: 1st Place: $1000, 2nd Place: $500, 3rd Place: $270 Championship Description: The hardest of the competitions, obviously. This my friend, is where all the money comes from, as well as the difficulty. Make sure that you've trained your dog enough to where it knows how to hold tricks for 15-20 seconds, or you will definitely lose! Required Tricks: Sit, Shake, Lie Down, Spin, Roll Over, Jump, Beg Money For Winning: 1st Place: $2000, 2nd Place: $1000, 3rd Place: $600 Agility Trial In-Depth Information: Beginner Class Description: This is an easy one, so you should not have too much trouble here. Items: Hurdles, Tubes Money For Winning: 1st Place: $100, 2nd Place: $50, 3rd Place: $30 Open Class Description: A bit harder than the Beginner Class, but you should still be able to pull through if you are careful. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $200, 2nd Place: $100, 3rd Place: $60 Items: Hurdles, Tubes, Seesaws, Double Hurdles Expert Class Description: You might wanna start really trying hard here. This is where your dog will require considerable training in order to win. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $300, 2nd Place: $150, 3rd Place: $100 Items: Hurdles, Tubes, Seesaws, Double Hurdles, Slaloms Master Class Description: A pretty difficult competition. Make sure your dog is extremely well trained. Otherwise, you have a good chance of losing. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $600, 2nd Place: $400, 3rd Place: $300 Items: Hurdles, Tubes, Seesaws, Double Hurdles, Slaloms Championship Description: The hardest of the five difficulties of challenges. Make sure that your dog is trained as good as it can be, or close. This is a hard one, so keep at it, and try and be patient. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $1000, 2nd Place: $600, 3rd Place: $400 Items: Hurdles, Tubes, Seesaws, Double Hurdles, Slaloms Disc Competition In-Depth Information: Well, first off, your dog has to know how to catch the discs very easily. It also has to be able to return it to you without a fight, if you are to win the bigger contests, such as the Expert Class. Also, you start off in the green zone in a Disc Competition. The zones represent colors. From the green zone, throw the disc as far as you can and if your dog catches it, you'll receive points! Depending on which color it catches it on, you'll get greater or lesser points. Here are the points each color gives you: Blue Zone Jumping Catch Points Earned: 10 Regular Catch Points Earned: 9 Red Jumping Catch Points Earned: 8 Regular Catch Points Earned: 7 Orange Jumping Catch Points Earned: 6 Regular Catch Points Earned: 5 Yellow Jumping Catch Points Earned: 4 Regular Catch Points Earned: 3 Light Green Jumping Catch Points Earned: 2 Regular Catch Points Earned: 1 Green Jumping Catch Points Earned: N/A Regular Catch Points Earned: N/A Also note that in a Disc Competition you have only 1 minute to get as many points as possible, and score the win. Be very careful in the latter contests, and make sure your dog is well trained and disciplined. Take him/her to the park for training every now and then. The second your dog has the disc, if it does not come back to you immediately or shortly after, tap the touch screen to call him. If your dog is not well trained and does not respond to you when you call him, this can easily cause you to lose even the simplest of competitions. Beginner Class Description: As always, the Beginner Class is the easy class. Not much of a problem, here. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $100, 2nd Place: $50, 3rd Place: $30 Open Class Description: A slightly harder challenge, just make your dog is trained a bit. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $200, 2nd Place: $100, 3rd Place: $50 Expert Class Description: This is actually a pretty hard competition to win. Make sure your dog is well-trained, and also willing to obey you. It also must be able to jump pretty high and catch the disc a good bit to win. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $300, 2nd Place: $150, 3rd Place: $100 Master Class Description: A very difficult competition to get through. Your dog must be extremely well-trained, and it must also obey anything you tell it. Must be able to catch the disc pretty good, too. Must be a significantly high jumper, as well. Money For Winning: 1st Place: $400, 2nd Place: $300, 3rd Place: $200 Championship Class Description: The hardest of the competitions, as you already know. This is the absolute ultimate test for your dog. Your dog must be a master jumper, and a master at catching the disc. You must not fail in this competition! Your dog must be extremely obedient, as well as extremely skilled! Money For Winning: 1st Place: $600, 2nd Place: $400, 3rd Place: $300 |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 12. Walking | |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| Click "Go Out" via the red arrow at the top left of the screen when you are at home with your dog to walk it. You can walk as many dogs as you like, but only one by one. Each time you walk, your dog gets more stamina. At the bottom left of the screen, there is a yellow bar which indicates how much stamina your dog has left. You will have to draw a route from your house leading back to your house with the stylus and that is where your dog will walk. However, you must be sure to draw the line to the point where your dog doesn't run out of stamina. When walking, you will also find items and other dogs on the park. You can sometimes even find rare items (see the Items section for more on that). You can only walk your dog once every 30 minutes, so keep that in mind if you are wondering why the game won't let you walk your dog. |=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-| | 13.
