I know I will definitely make a mistake XD, so I hope you kindly forgive me (I'm a FAQ newbie, lol!). So I'm writing this FAQ for all the Nostalgia fans, so they can get all the secrets and information while playing the game. It really is my favorite Nintendo DS game and I hope this guide will help you all in a lot of ways. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ 2. Prelude -+ You start of with an intro of a man in an armor (and his name is "Man In Armor" )... How original. But it will probably be changed later. He's reaching for a piece of shiny stone that he says belongs to the gate that they seek. Nothing happens when he touches it, so he decides to bring "the girl" out. She is obviously the main heroine of the game. She's forced to touch the stone. She tries to struggle out of it, but can't. As the piece was glowing, one of the robed one eye guys (Cabal Combatant) suddenly grabs her. He takes off his robe and he is "Gilbert Brown." The main hero's father tries to rescue the girl by escaping to the airship. * Tower Of Babel 5F * Enemies: Cabal Combatant Boss: Man In Armor You control Gilbert now with the girl following him. She is not playable yet, so you can only control him. Gilbert is at a decent level (which is not very high for the most famous adventurer :P). Just go down the spiral stairs and you will fight off few enemies. They look exactly the same as the one eye robed guys. Just attack them and don't waste your skills cause you will use it soon. As you try to leave, someone will stop you. It is none other than the obvious "Man In Armor." You know you have to fight him. If you don't, there's something wrong with you... Anyways... Gilbert is shocked that he knows his name. Now you have to fight him. Boss Battle: Man In Armor HP: 9999 Elemental: Fire AP: 100 DP: 0 M. AP: 100 M. DP: 50 Item Dropped: N/A Ability: Invincible Rage, Prominence The strategy is just to use skill, "Dividing Heaven" at every turn. Use the Heal Bottle if you need, which you probably don't. Invincible Rage is a healing move and Prominence is his skill that causes great damage. This is an easy battle. Once you "beat" him. You'll see Gilbert running to the rope. The man in armor ordered his army to shoot him. The girl tries to reach his hand, unfortunately the rope broke from the shooting and falls down. Then the credit shows... +- 6b. Birth of an Adventurer -+ * Brown's House, London * Items: Strength Shard Finally the game starts. You'll see a beautiful view of London. (How I want to go there so bad since I was little :P). You'll see the main hero, Eddie and his mother, Margaret in their big mansion. The butler, William comes saying Mr. Evans is there to see Margaret. He comes in very worried saying he has bad news for her that he can't tell in front of Eddie. She tells him that he is his son and that he has the right to know. He starts to tell them both about how they found Gilbert's airship in the Mediterranean Sea and that it was attacked greatly. The worst news of it all was Gilbert was not on the airship. Margaret fell down on the sofa. (Gee... I rather hear my husband missing than dead... but that's just me...). Eddie being the good-loving son that he is decides to look for his father himself. Mr. Evans tells him that only adventurers can look for him. Eddie easily decides to become an adventurer and plans to go to the Adventurer's Association. You finally have control of Eddie. (FINALLY!) You can just take a look around the house, trying the control, going to the menu by pressing X. You can save right away anywhere except in dungeons (there's a save point in dungeons). You can see a beautiful view if you go out the balcony (just press up from where you start). Talk to William (the butler) near the way to the hall to get a free good night rest (so don't waste your money on the London Inn :P. A very strange thing that I noticed which probably won't be cleared up or maybe I'm wrong... is that... why does Margaret and Gilbert have two different rooms? Dang... Maybe that's why he went missing... Hahaha, just kidding. As you walk through the hallway, head to the left sofa and press A and you'll find Strength Shard! Head out of the house. * London West End * Items: HP Shard Head left where you see a big mansion. Head up the stairs (don't go inside) and when you have a choice to go left or right, go left and press A in the end to get an HP Shard! It increases your maximum HP! Use it if you want or save it for later. * London Central * Items: Heal Bottle As soon as you enter, you'll see a beautiful view of the city (I love this game so much!). You can just talk to people and take a look around, enjoy the city. First, head in front of the statue water fountain and press A on the plants in front of it and you'll get a Heal Bottle. There are shops around here. Shops in London are the only shops that will grow and sell more things as you enter town that has an Airship Dock. Go to the London Armor Shop and purchase Gauntlet (make sure to equip it). Don't even buy anything else because you already have better equipments (That's the life of the rich alright. Haha). To continue, you need to go to the Adventurer's Association which is located on the northwest (check out your bottom screen where it says "A"). Before you enter, you'll see a girl in a wheelchair saying that Eddie looks like someone she knows and says "You will find out what you're looking for." Eddie freaks out by her (I was too). Now you're able to enter and talk to the person behind the counter to learn about the Adventurer's Association. You apparently need to take the "entrance exam" to join to show that you are capable of handling the obstacles of becoming an adventurer. Apparently the entrance exam is to exterminate the Monster Rats in the sewers... (Yeah that sounds more like Fear Factor than anything). After you're done talking, head out and head to the right to proceed. * London East End * Items: Flee Stone, Star Jewel Here is London East End. Apparently it's the "scary and the needy" part of London. Before doing anything else, go right and up to see a blue dumpster. Check on it and you'll find an item, Flee Stone. Head to the first house you'll see. It is a bar, but apparently you aren't old enough to drink one (haha!). But the good thing about this bar is that if you go to the bottom right barrel all the way in the corner and press A, you'll find a rare item called Star Jewel (whoo hoo!). The item shop is here. Purchase few Heal Bottles if you need to (you probably don't). Antidote isn't that necessary, but you can buy one if you need. Don't even purchase the Silver Chalice (that is really expensive). When you're done, head northeast and talk to the girl (who cannot stop moving around...). Her name is Marie and she'll tell you that her friend Pad went inside to get his valuable that he lost to a rat and that he hasn't come back in a while. She's worried and she wants you to look for him (great... more quest). She'll tell you that you need to turn the switch inside for the floodgate so you can get through. Go down and press A to inspect and open the door. Head inside. * London Sewers * Enemies: Rat, Flying Fish, Jelly, Bat Boss: Monster Rat Items: 500G, Heal Bottle (2), 500G, *Strength Shard * - only reachable by Quest 1 You're in your first dungeon. The enemies here are very easy. Just attack them and they most likely will die. Head to the left and go down to the bridge if you want to complete the map, if not just keep going. You probably keep saying "YES" because you keep getting S rank in battles. Well wipe that smile away cause you won't be that lucky soon :P. (I'm such a mood ruiner... Hey... Better than false hope right? :P). Follow the way and go down when you hit the end. Ignore the red switch for now and go all the way down to pick up "500G" (Hey, he doesn't seem to have much money for a rich kid... Hahaha!). Head back up and press the red switch. The floodgate will go down blocking the water making you able to pass by. Go down the stairs and head down only if you want to complete the map (which isn't a lot, so do it lazy bum!). Go right up the stairs and go down (up also if you want to complete the map). By now, you probably gain a level to level 2 and learn "Overdrive". A window will pop up asking you if you want to learn how to advance your skill. Head to the right and up and you'll witness an event where you'll see your soon-to-be new sidekick, PAD! (Marie's friend...). You'll see him struggling fighting so many rats. One of them is about to attack him and Eddie saves him. Pad being shocked asks him who he is. Now you have to fight the enemies together. You're gonna have to fight 5 rats! (RATS! that's a lot! Try to get an S rank here, bet you can't! Hahaha!... Okay I'll stop now). So Pad apparently has one skill and that is "Lock On". I personally don't think you should even use it here and just attack normally since you can one hit kill them. Don't bother using Overdrive here since Eddie is strong enough without it to one hit kill the rats. After the battle, Pad is being the bitter poor person that he is saying he didn't ask for help and that Eddie is too rich and fancy to be there and that kind of crap. Apparently Pad thinks life for rich people is just some game and he leaves. Now you have to remember your first mission here and that is to exterminate the Monster Rats. You will see your first Save Point (that yellow light thing if you still don't know). Press A to save and every time you press A on save point, it heals you. After saving, you'll see a treasure chest on the left. Open it and it will give you 2 Heal Bottles. Head back right and make sure to go up to clear the area, head down to the stairs and head back up on the right. Go down and to the right and you'll witness another event. Monster Rat finally makes its appearance and it's in front of you. No need to panic, Pad comes to the rescue. He also notices the Monster Rat is wearing his medal. Time to give the Monster Rat a knuckle sandwich. Boss Battle: Monster Rat HP: 40 Elemental: - AP: 30 DP: 10 M. AP: 10 M. DP: 5 Ability: N/A Item Dropped: N/A Start up with Pad using Lock On and Eddie using Overdrive. Both should just keep attacking after that. If you need to (which you shouldn't), use the Heal Bottle to heal. After about 3-4 turns of attacks from Eddie and Pad, it will die. After the battle, Pad will explain that the medal is the only clue he has that links him with his mother (aw, how sad). He believes she's carrying the other half and he's on a journey to find her. Then Eddie starts explaining about his father and he is searching for his parent too (cliché...). Pad officially joins the party. Hooray for shorter battle. Party Chat is available by pressing Y. Press Y right now to demonstrate. Pad is gonna complain again about rich and poor (get over it...). Now time to use the SP you earned from leveling up (please don't tell me you didn't level up). Open the menu and go to advance skill to level up Overdrive twice and Lock On twice. Keep heading to the right and follow the way until you open a treasure chest. It's ANOTHER 500G! Head back all the way where you fought Monster Rat and head down the stairs and up the other stairs only if you want to complete the map. If not just head back to the save point area. You should save or at least heal your HP/MP there. Take advantage of this by running around here leveling up and heal to the save point nearby (unless you're a lazy bum...). From the save point head back down to the stairs on the right and back up again near before you met Monster Rat and inspect the switch again to let the floodgate up. Head up and cross the bridge. Go right and you're back to town again, yay! * London East End * Talk to Marie in front of the sewer. She really just thanks you but gives you nothing or makes a scene (boo...ring). Walk to the west to London Central. * London Central * It's optional, but you can go to London Armor Shop and purchase a Bandana and Iron Gloves for Pad. You should go back home to get a free rest from William so all HP and MP are restored. Now head to the Adventurer's Association and talk to the person behind the counter. Eddie will report that he completed the exam. The clerk will officially announce that Eddie is now a member of the Adventurer's Association (yay!). Apparently her name is Bridget and she's the clerk there. She then of course asks him his name and wonders if he's related to Gilbert Brown (he really is famous...). She will give you Adventurer's Notebook which is like a record of list and stuff. Then she will tell you that Mr. Evans wants you to go to the Airship Dock. It is located just south of London Central. But before going there. You should check out your Adventurer's Notebook (or as the game says... "Adventuers Notebook" Hahaha). After that, talk to Bridget, the clerk again to accept your first quest. If you need a guide for the quest, please go to http://nostalgiafantasy.net/?p=quests for more information. Once you're done or if you don't feel like taking the quest, head down from the Adventurer's Association to the Airship Dock. As soon as you enter, Evans will greet you. Eddie will introduce Pad and he's happy about Pad joining. Pad responds that it's pure luck that they were looking for the same thing (yeah right... it ain't luck, it's cause the producers told them to. Lol, I'll stop now). Anyway, apparently Evan is gonna give you Gilbert's airship, the Maverick. He fixed it up but the Flight Core isn't fixed yet so you can't fly high up (What's the point of an airship if you can't fly high?!). He will tell you that he met Gilbert and he was on his way to Cairo. Cairo is a city in Egypt, it is located southeast from London. Keep going down to another screen. You'll witness an FMV of the airship. You'll see birds and you have to fight them already. Check Airships link on the side to learn more. After the event with Maverick. You'll notice Pad mentioning there's a light on the map to show you where you're going. You can view the light by pressing Select. Go back to the Airship Dock and talk to the person behind the counter on the left to buy some weapons and items for the airship. Buy a few of Mechanic's Tool. Get Trident and Double Shot. Don't forget to get the Upgrade Plate 01. Talk to the guy next to him to customize the equipments you just bought. Talk to the personnear the airship to repair your airship. Go down to get on Maverick again. +- 6c. Chase Gilbert -+ Ah.. beginning of a new chapter. You're finally in the world map with an airship already. You can fly around to get used to airship battles and the control. Check out airships to learn more. Now if you didn't become a lazy bum and took the quest and finished it. You should have some SP skills around 366. Time to use them wisely. Advance Combo Attack (it is the best move Eddie for a while) twice and Steal twice. Now time to get a move on. Press Select and notice where the light is. Turn left or right facing it and press B to move forward. You'll see a town in a deserted area called Cairo. Land there. * Cairo * Items: Heal Bottle (2), Mechanic's Tool, Silver Chalice, Pyramid Key Talk to the people there if you want. Before you go anywhere, go left of the first guy that you see and press A on the box to get a free Heal Bottle. Head up passing the guy in a purple suit and press A on the box in the north to get another Heal Bottle. Go back down next to the same guy in the purple suit and head right until you hit the fence. Go up and press A on the boxes to get a Mechanic's tool (so many freebies, yay!). Head to the Inn (northeast) and go to the right where you see a plant near the bed (the bottom plant) and press A and you'll get the... SILVER CHALICE! Whoo hoo! Hey, it's expensive to buy XP. Talk to the guy next to the bar (the green drink icon on the map). His name is Hasan and he will tell you there is a scholar that came here from London and she's in the bar. Go inside the bar and talk to her (the orange hair girl on the northeast side). Her name is Shirley and she's an archaeologist. Gilbert was the one who taught her about archeology and that she became a scholar because of him. She apparently believes that Gilbert was investigating something in the Pyramid in Cairo. She then will give you a key that you need to get into the Pyramid's underground chambers. Get out of Cairo and head south to Pyramid. +- 6d. The Mystery of the Pyramid -+ * Pyramid * Enemies: Sandworm, Mummy, Skeleton, Spider * Pyramid 1F * Items: Heal Bottle (2), Sacrifice Doll, Heal Bottle Head up and left and up again. Make sure to watch for the cracked floors. It will drop you to the bottom floor. Of course it's a good thing if you want to explore and complete the map, but it's better to do that later on. You'll notice a hidden pathway on the right side which looks dark. Keep heading there and you'll be in another room that has 2 chests. One is Heal Bottle (2) and the other is Sacrifice Doll. Head left again and back up and you'll notice a similar pathway to the right. Pick up the Heal Bottle and go left again. Head up. You'll see a tablet. Insert the Pyramid Key by pressing A on it and it'll open a door on the right. Now would be a good time to fall down on the hole right in the middle. * Pyramid 1B * Items: Leather Jacket Go up and down to uncover the map. There is a button hidden near the door on the upper side. Press A and the door will open. Head inside and open "Leather Jacket". Equip it on Pad. Go to the left and down to go back to the 1st floor again. * Pyramid 1F * Go down and right and you'll be in a familiar place again. Go up to where you put the Pyramid Key before. Go through the path where the door was opened by the Pyramid Key. You'll see a little bunny like creature. It is a "Korol" and its name is Flaum. You'll see a Korol in dungeon at times and they will always help you (recovering HP, MP, etc). Flaum will just tell you where the "scary boss" is. Go down and back up again and you'll see a different Korol, Atrium! It will heal your MP! This is a good tactic if you want to level up around here using your MP and talk to Atrium to get your MP restore! For Eddie, Level up your Combo Attack (it is very useful!) and Knight Heal to about Level 3 and Overdrive to Level 5. Power Boost and Attack Boost should be around Level 2. For Pad, level up both his Steal and Lock On to level 4 and his Rapid Shot to level 2.So head down. * Pyramid 1B * Keep going right and down and then right again. Be careful as a big rock is gonna come rolling. Just press down and don't let go. Wait for a fork and then head left quickly! Whew, you're saved... for now :P. Head up when you see a way and go down. * Pyramid 2B * Items: Chamber Key, Mechanic's tool Go up and left, you'll notice mummy's tombs. You can avoid them by not walking on the darker shade of the room. But I don't think you should cause you can get experience and you do need it for future bosses. You do need to fight the first one to get "The Chamber Key". After fighting all of them, Pad should learn Random Shot. Level it up to level 3. It is a very useful skill on both multiple enemies and one enemy. Go left, down, right and down again. Head right and down to get Mechanic's Tool. Head up to go down the stairs again. * Pyramid 3B * Follow the way to the Save Point and save your game as you're gonna fight your next boss soon and to heal up of course. Go up and you'll witness a scene. The mummy's tomb moves and something comes out! You have to fight it Boss Battle: Pharaoh HP: 100 Elemental: - AP: 30 DP: 12 M. AP: 14 M. DP: 7 Ability: N/A Item Dropped: N/A Like usual, start up with Pad using Lock On and Eddie using Overdrive. Let Pad use Random Shot while Eddie uses Combo Attack. You'll beat it in no times. Use Heal Bottle if necessary. After you beat it, you'll witness another event when you go down. You'll be in a library... and there's a man named Carlos there. (creepy...) * Pyramid 4B Library of Alexandrina * Items: Mechanic's Tool, Dad's Pipe, Tower Painting, Mechanic's Tool, Warp Stone, Chain Coat Right now you probably have some SP, you can advance some on Attack Boost and Guard Boost for Eddie (just one level for each). Head right and down, there's a hidden chest between the bookcase, Mechanic's Tool. Head left and up back again and climb the stairs. You'll see something shiny, if you overlook that there is something wrong with you... No offense. Inspect it and it is actually "Dad's Pipe" and "Tower Painting". You'll have to show it to Shirley. The lying girl who said she's archeologist even though she was wearing army outfit.. MHM... Well, I don't know if she's lying or not... Haha. So anyway... Head to the right and pick up Warp Stone! You can use that to escape the dungeon if you're too lazy. But don't use it yet cause there's one more item nearby and it's worth getting for :P. Head down and left and you'll get... a Chain Coat! (If y'all are thinking, she makes us go down and left instead of left and down so we'll complete the map, well y'all are right XP). Equip the Chain Coat on Eddie and head up to complete the remaining part of the map and you can use the Warp Stone now if you want. Go back to Cairo. * Cairo * Shirley will greet you right when you enter. Eddie will explain to her about the tower and everything. She apparently knows that it's the Tower of Babel. Remember that place? The first place we controlled Gilbert Brown! Apparently you need to fix the Flight Core in order to go there. Go back to the bar [where you met Shirley] and talk to the guy on the upper left to learn that the only people that can fix it is in Merveille Village! That's our next destination! It is actually very close, you actually saw it on the way from London to Cairo. Just go northwest and you'll see a village in a forest and land there. PS - Another quest is opened up, Quest 2. +- 6e. The Witch's Errand -+ * Merveille Village * Items: Unicorn Horn, Sunlight, Ancient Paper Head to the right and you'll be in the main village. Talk to people there and you'll find out that they are wizards! I think it's obvious who we'll encounter soon... *coughs*melody*coughs* (y'all didn't hear that). Head to the house in the middle north. Talk to the Elder to find out you have to go see Me...lody! I was right! Yay! You'll hear something explode and you have to investigate. Before doing that, go near the plant behind the elder to find Unicorn Horn. Head out and go to the right and up on the tree between the graveyard and elder's house to get Sunlight. Go down and left to the Inn and inspect the shelf next to the plant to get Ancient Paper! This is an important object. Your very first own Gadget. You should go to the Gadgets link on the side to learn more. There's an Item Shop on the opposite side of the village, but I don't think you need to spend anything for now. Go back to where you came from and you'll witness an event involving Melody. She's gonna explain about how you need the Eterna Crystal in order to fix the airship and she's the only person that can fix it. She insists on helping you to get it in the Eterna Mines because she's afraid the elder would punish her for blowing up the pot again (haha!) As you get on the airship, Melody will mention the cannon and that she's gonna use it. She is a pretty good ally in both real battles and airship battles. While you're at it, go to menu and level up Melody's skill, Flanma until level 4, Pad's Treatment to level 2 and Eddie's Wild Rush to level 3. Head down following the light of your map heading east direction passing the Pyramid. You will be ambushed by a sky pirate, Esperanza! Boss Battle: Esperanza HP: 150 Elemental: - AP: 50 DP: 20 M. AP: 10 M. DP: 5 Ability: N/A Item Dropped: N/A Fight it as you regularly fight in airship battle. You might need to use some Mechanic's Tool since it is stronger than the airship battles so far. Keep going straight and go right when you hit a mountain and you'll find another place... Cape Town! * Cape Town * Items: Stamina Shard, Super Heal Bottle, Unicorn Horn, Antidote, Heal Bottle You'll enter right on Airship Dock (London Shop is evolving for the first time!) Go right and up to talk to the owner of the shop, Jake and buy Silver Lance, Heavy Gun and either Smart Cannon [for hitting enemies in left and right] or Heavy Cannon [for heavy damage on one in front] or both... Don't forget to upgrade your plate and repair your ship afterwards. Go up and enter the town. You'll witness a beautiful intro of the town. Aah... makes me wanna go there. Go to the left where you see a tower and head inside. Go behind the lamp to find a Stamina Shard. Get out of the tower and go to the left side of the open item shop in the middle and check the bar for a Super Heal Bottle. Go east and down and press A on the sea shell stuff to get a Unicorn Horn. Go to the house in the middle and check the big chest on the left to get an Antidote. Last but not least, go all the way up between the house in the middle and the right to get Heal Bottle. So many free stuff! Now go to the weapon shop in the east |
