think you just have to keep chatting with them and get bigger platforms from the store

You probably can't. I've been playing this game for about a year and it still won't work.
Plus, there wouldn't be room for a ladder between the two platforms.

im still relatively new but i cant figgure out how to connect the two floors! i have the
steps but it wont let me place it. how do i place it? please answer A.S.A.P!

Make sure that there is 2 free spaces for each step.

I always go to the shop and there is no ladder selling but i do all what it needs to
unlock the second floor

Okay, here's how:
Well you know, when you go to the cage screen, there is a first floor on the bottom corner
and a second floor on top? Drag the second floor panels onto the second floor, drop them
in. Just like adding items such as the house, etc. The ladder goes between the first and
second floors, but you must have at least one or two spaces open (no panels) on the second
and first floors. This is how you connect them.
