how do i get started?

Hi, I bought this game and I want to play it but I don't get any explanation and I don't know what to do now.
I can't give my puppy food and they keep saying it's famished but they don't say how I can give it food!
If you could give me some helping information then I can keep shouting and yelling to that *** pup.
