Rare Candies are Crap.
When they level your Pokemon up they only give 1-2 Stat.
And by the time you get it to level 100 your Dragonite would have really crap stats....

They're REALLY cheap and they don't help at all. >::( Which makes you enjoy the game
less.

You still only can learn those moves if your pokemon love you enough. But sometimes
pokemon who have the ability PICKUP will find it, but you have a low chance of your
pokemon Actually finding it. If you
still want RARE CANDIES be my guest and just carry around a pokemon with PICKUP and
wait to see what it finds.
There are a lot of many methods of getting rare candies but like PIKAZARD said they only
raise your pokemon stats to a max of 2 and a lowest of 0.
Just go out and use the EXP. SHARE or train your DRATINI in battles to give it TONS of
better stats.



Another long explanation brought to you by SAPRES. SAPRES when you want a more detailed
(or duller) explanation just ask him. (Or if you are to lazy to go to SEREBII or
BULBAPEDIA to find all possible RARE CANDY locations)

But use RARE CANDIES like for a quick little boost instead of a cheap training method.
Every once in awhile, but not too much.

It's funny because no one here seems to understand how RareCandies and EV's work :)
RareCandies only screw up your pokemon if you get it to level 100 without EV training it..
EV are gained every time you cause a pokemon to faint.. with a max of 510 EV's overall and
255 in one stat.. If you have all 510 EV's gained by say level 20-30 or so (If you know
how to EV train this is easy) and use RareCandies until level 100 it will be just as
powerful as a pokemon who trained from 1-100 :)

Actual answer:

Obtain a party full of Pokemon with the ability "pickup" (Zigzagoon from the Safari Zone
conveniently work), levels 35-44, and enter the Safari Zone w/a layout to find Linoone and
Zigzagoon (use Safari items to make them appear). To consistently do this, use repels. Run
from a couple of Linoone/Zigzagoon, exit the safari zone, run south, and battle/defeat
pokemon until you notice individuals in your Party are carrying items. Check for Rare
Candies. If none are found after a few defeated wild Pokemon, retry previous steps.

Dowsing Machine obtained from the house in-between the Poke-center and the Gym in Ecruteak

I believe what Tom meant to explain was that a party full of Zigzagoon levels 40-50 with
the ability "PickUp" have a fairly decent chance of finding rare candies when encountering
wild Pokemon. He most likely misinterpreted the following Youtube video explaining the
process.



You sir are correct in stating said process can be used to acquire rare candies.

I need rare candies to beat the elite 4. I get bored and annoyed every time I lose. I'm
also an impatient person by nature and can't stand a lack of visible progess. Though
actually, I've already beat them, but I keep losing to Lance. It's starting to really piss

dude,just make your Dratini love U and then go to a little house in Blackthorn and speak
to the oldie that says"Oh its you again would you like me to teach your pokemon the best
Dragon-type move I know???" and then push your Dratini/dragonite/dragonior and then if he
loves you enogh she'll teach Draco Meteor to your pokemon.(belive me I tried it with my
Gabite and it worked)
