Hello all. Most of you are stuck on defeating the toughest trainer of all: Red.
I know it is hard, but catching the best pokemon is another matter.
Using the instructions that I can give you, hopefully you can become a very successful
trainer.
(This is my first walkthrough. No harsh comments please.)
My pokemon:

Phsicic, Thunder, Flamethrower and Drain punch

Hydro cannon, waterfall, ice fang and superpower

Sacred fire, fireblast, punishment and Strengh

Surf, Whirpool, ice beam and ancient power

Charge beam, Spark, Cut and Quick attack

Ancient power, Flamethrower, Rock smash and Fire blast

Red's pokemon:
PIKACHU lv88
Volt tackle, Thunderbolt, Quick attack and Iron tail
SNORLAX lv 82
Giga impact, Blizzard, Yawn and Earthquake
BLASTOISE lv 84
Hydro cannon, Hydro pump, Blizzard and Aqua tail
VENUSAUR lv 84
Sludge bomb, Toxic, Frenzy plant and Giga drain
CHARIZARD lv 84
Blast burn, Fire blast, Wing attack and Flamethrower
LAPRAS lv 80
Body slam, Ice beam, Blizzard and Hydro pump
Defeating Red:
Firstly, send out MEWTWO. Red will sent out PIKACHU. Unfortunatly, Red's PIKACHU is lv 88
(his strongest pokemon). Use Phsicic which may knock out PIKACHU, but if it doesn't,
prepare for a harsh beating. His PIKACHU will use Volt tackle which will almost K-O
MEWTWO. The good side is that Volt tackle is a recoil move, so PIKACHU will lose some hp,
knocking him out.
Next, send out FERALIGATR. Red will send out SNORLAX. Use Superpower 3 times, but Snorlax
may tire you out with Yawn. If your pokemon fall asleep, then use a full restore or an
awakening. Since you miss a go, SNORLAX may use Giga impact to attempt to K-O your
pokemon. If this does happen, send out MEWTWO and use Drain punch to regain life and knock
out SNORLAX. Next, Red should sent out BLASTOISE. Keep MEWTWO in so you can use Thunder!!!
This will K-O BLASTOISE. Red will next send out VENUSAUR so keep MEWTWO to use
Flamethrower. BEWARE!!!!!!! VENUSAUR knows Sludge bomb which may defeat any pokemon. You
have been warned..... Anyway, use Flamethrower to almost knock out VENUSAUR and hopefully
burning him. If VENUSAUR does get burned, then you're almost there! Next, Red will send
out CHARIZARD so keep MEWTWO and use Thunder!!!!! This will K-O CHARIZARD if it hits.
Lastly, Red will send out LAPRAS. It is a strong pokemon, take that in mind. Keep MEWTWO
to use Thunder!!!!! This will knock out LAPRAS. YIPPEE!!!! Now you've defeated Red, you
can get a Kanto starter from Prof.Oak and a Hoenn starter from Steven Silf. You can also
catch KYOGRE (HG) or GROUNDON (SS).
