Is Gengar a good lead?


I thought he was pretty good, but I read this faq on another site and they are like "there are still people that lead with gengar they are so ***". What's wrong leading with Gengar? I mean, compared to other leads.

well gengar would make an ideal lead


its high speed and special attack would make it seem ideal, but compared to other leads,
it doesnt get much type advantage. Spikers like skarmory can resist most of its standard
attacks and crobat can easily out-speed and put it to sleep. Thats why gengar would be
best sent out mid-game

Well Gengar still has a really high special attack.


I have him with Hypnosis, sludge bomb, shadow ball, and dream eater. That seems pretty
good right? Few things completely resist those attacks. So what could go wrong?

hypnosis and dream eater are a good combination sludge bomb is good agenst gr*** and
shaodow ball is good too so i would say its preaty good
