Pokemon Pearl Review: Gen. 4 begins

by pokegirl225 Feb 13, 2012

Over summer of 2007 people were flooding in to their local game stores trying to get their hands on a game of pokemon pearl or diamond. Of course it can cost a lot of money, and some kids wouldn't have it for a while because they don't have the money. I got my pokemon pearl game for a gift in 2010 from my former next-door neighbor. To me and a lot of my friends, pokemon=happiness. But to others, well they're not allowed to say anything, but that's rare. It might be fun for someone, but might not, It's up to the person receiving the game. Lots of people love the challenge of the national dex, But others can't handle a challenge like that without being bored, despite the fact it's in a video game

9Story line
You start by going with your friend to the local lake in Twinleaf Town. You are then attacked by wild pokemon and are forced to use an unknown professor's briefcase that he forgot. After a while you embark on your journey, catching pokemon for Rowan, and battling to the pokemon league
Before you start the game, you see the Professor asking you your game name and if you're a boy or girl. When you see the choices for the gender, you see figures that in the anime, are known as Dawn and Lucas, they look realistic at that point, then when you start, you see very undetailed tiny people
This is a good high quality sound, where there is mostly music, and a few sound effects in battle. There are two reasons why I give it a low grade. The first is that the pokemon calls sound nothing like the calls in the anime. The second is they repeat the same music in the routes, which is annoying
I have fun, but the battles can be just a little too easy for some older or more experienced players, or hard for younger or newer players. Overall, even the newest players can get lost in fun of the game, but to me, it can get boring after you defeat the Elite 4. It can be fun after that to you.
10Lasting Appeal
Some people may be able to complete the national dex, but others might get bored and start over. To me, it depends on how it works out with what I do.
(Out of 10)
