Walkthrough - Walkthrough-Eterna GymWelcome back to my walkthrough of Pokemon D/P. Let's get started, shall we? Once you leave Eterna Forest, you'll be in Eterna City, obviously. Now to cover some optional Key Items. The house next to the Pokemon Center has an old man in it. Talk to him and you'll get the Explorer Kit. This allows you to access the Underground. Here you can dig up multiple goodies and even pokemon fossils! Both games can get every kind of fossil, the only difference is the Skull Fossil in Diamond and Armor Fossil in Pearl. Also if you noticed the Bike Shop, there is no one in there yet. You'll have to rescue the shopkeeper at the Galactic Building, but I'll get to that point later. If you travel to the route to the east, you'll find some Ponyta, Medidite, a few trainers to battle. Catch a Ponyta if you need a fire type. Don't catch one if you don't plan on using it throughout the game though. It's a waste to train a pokemon in gyms that you aren't going to use. It's mostly a waste of EXP that can spread to your other pokemon. You should also bump into Cynthia, she will give you cut, but you need the Eterna Badge to use it in the field. In case you forgot, teach your useless HMs to HM Slaves like Bidoof, Bibarel, or Geodude. Once you enter the Eterna Gym, you'll see the leader waiting there. It isn't that easy though. You'll have to fight all the trainers in the gym before you can fight the leader. Just search around the trees and rocks and talk to any trainers you find. There is no order you'll find them in, so get searching. The weird angle in the gym also makes it somewhat a hassle to find them. Once you finish off all the trainers, head to battle the leader. She has a Turtwig and Cherubi lv.19 and a Roserade lv.22. Cherubi is fairly easy and can be taken down by any starter or Staravia. Turtwig uses Withdraw to raise its defense, so use a special attack move if you have it. If not, then just chip away at its HP until it goes down. It doesn't have too many strong attack moves, so it shouldn't be a problem. The last pokemo, Roserade, can be pretty tough. Even for a fire type like Monferno, this can be tough. Lv.22 is pretty high at this point in the game and you'll have to watch out for some strong moves and it can also poison you. Even fire type moves like Flame Wheel can suffer from Roserade's Poison Point ability. After the gym is done and your pokemon are healed, use cut to access the Galactic Building. Its straightforward from here. Beat Galactic Admin Jupiter and get your Bike prize from the man. You can register the bike on the quick select button "X". Also you can alter the bike's speed by pressing the "Y" button. Now it's time to head to Veilstone. Head south of Eterna City toward the Bike Trail. If you talk to the scientist in the southern building you'll get an EXP Share if you've seen over 10 species of pokemon. This should be no problem unless you didn't battle any trainers other than the gym leaders, which is impossible. You can use the EXP Share to train some of your weaker or newly caught pokemon. I wouldn't recommend it though unless its truly needed, like training a Magikarp into a Gyarados. After you leave the Bike Trail, you'll run into Prof. Rowan's helper. He/she will ask you to pick a hand, it doesn't matter though. Whatever you choose you'll get a VS Seeker, which is useful for battling old trainers(gym leaders not included). Also you'll get the Poke App, Dowsing Rod. If you click on this app, you can find hidden items in the ground. The center where the lines connect is your current point. This works exactly like a grid. If you have some form of education you'll be able to figure out how it works. If not, then to put it in short, each line represents one step. The sand slide leads back to Oreburgh City. You can get up sand slides by using the faster gear on your bike. Just enter the cave off to the right though. You'll bump into Cyrus here, no you won't have to fight him. Leave the cave and head east to Hearthome City. Go to the Contest Hall, the big circular building toward the top of the city. If you see someone blocking the way, just head to the southern part of the city to battle your rival, Mike as we will call him. After you beat him, then head back to Contest Hall to see your mom there. You'll get a few contest accessories. Now head to southern part of the city again and head toward the eastern gate. I won't cover where the southern gate leads in this section of the guide. Anyways if you follow the eastern gate, you'll end up in Soloceon Town. Don't forget to get HM Strength at the top of the tower before you enter the town. Just teach it to one of your HM Slaves or Luxio/Luxray if you have that pokemon. Continue to the north and head east. If you look at your map, you'll see that you're heading toward Veilstone City. The next section of my guide will include the Veilstone Gym and up to Pastoria City. Until next time gamers! |
