Walkthrough - Elite FourWelcome back gamers and to the final part of my D/P guide. I will cover each gym leader here and try to give the best advice I can. Good luck! Before you even talk to the guy blocking the way, your rival will pop out of nowhere and battle you. So make sure you healed. He upgraded his pokes, but nothing you can't beat by this point. Beat him and heal your pokes. Also stock up on mass amounts of Revives and Full Restore. Hyper Potions and Full Heal are fine too. Make sure the bulk of your team is around lv.55 and lv.50 for legends. Save before you enter and lets go! Aaron has a Dustox, Beautifly, Heracross, Vespiquen, and Drapion. Infernape makes quick work here and Empoleon is a neutral choice. Vespiquen can heal, so weary of that. An added Pressure ability can eat up your PP quickly. Drapion's only weakness is ground, so Torterra may help here. Watch out though, Drapion knows Ice Fang which can crush unprepared ground types, especially Torterra taking x4 damage. Save your legends for the later battles. Bertha isn't too hard. Grass type moves rip through easily. Hippowdon can be a problem with only a single type, but Torterra doesn't get hurt by Sandstorm. Infernape can also work here if it knows Grass Knot, but watch for low pokemon weights like Whiscash, who is light. Empoleon is also uneffected by Sandstorm and Surf can make quick work of Hippowdon. Flint doesn't have many fire types for a fire type elite four. He starts with Rapidash, so start with Empoleon or Torterra. Even Infernape if you know a ground or rock type move. Watch out for Torterra's speed though, his fire types are fast. Steelix is an easy OHKO. Drifblim will damage with Aftermath if a physical move takes it out. Drifblim can also take quite a few hits. Lopunny is also annoying. Its not strong, but its fast. Use Infernape or a legend to take this one out. His Infernape is also strong. It knows and egg move, Thunderpunch, to make quick work of water types. So use a pure ground type if you have one. If Sunny Day is in effect, watch out for one-turn Solarbeams. Lucian is highly annoying. Mr. Mime will set up a Barrier/Light Screen the first two turns. So take this poke out quickly. It has low defense, so a physical move will make it easy. Girafarig has low base stats, so its a pretty weak psychic choice. Alakazam and Bronzong are the real threats. Alakazam can OHKO most unprepared pokes with Psychic or Energy Ball. Bronzong can set up a few Calm Minds too, if that happens you need to rely of status effects or physical moves. This shouldn't be too hard for a legendary or Infernape. Empoleon can use Shadow Claw and Torterra with Crunch. Luxray is faster than Torterra and can also use Crunch. It can also paralyze with Spark. So keep this pokemon handy if you have one. Cynthia, the final battle. This is tough. Her pokemon have very few weaknesses. To prove it she starts with Spiritomb, a pokemon with no weaknesses at all! Its high on defense, but low on HP and attack and speed. Take it out with a powerful move or take this opportunity to set up some field advantages like weather and so forth. Roserade can be easily taken care of with its many weaknesses. Gastrodon is weak to solely grass, so Torterra works well here. It knows Earthquake and Stone Edge, so watch out for types who are weak to that. Lucario is a tough one. Although you may think its weak based on Riley and Maylene's copies, this Lucario is fast and can sweep with a multitude of moves. Infernape, Torterra, and the legends should be used here. Milotic can be a problem. Use Luxray if you have it. Torterra will fall prey to Milotic's Ice Beam. If you don't have Luxray, use a legend. Garchomp, her strongest pokemon, is obviously tough. Lv.66 with Dragon Rush, Brick Break, Earthquake, and Giga Impact. Use ice types move if you have it. Once you beat Cynthia, you're done! Good job on completing the game. You can now head to Snowpoint and take the ferry to the Battle Zone. Battle tougher trainers and wild pokes. Also challenge the Battle Tower if you think you have what it takes. However you will need to have seen all 150 Sinnoh pokemon in the dex. Here are some common misses. See the opposite legendary of your game at Celestic Town. Talk to Cynthia's grandmother. See Lumineon on the first trainer swimming above Sunnyshore City. See Wormadam on the route below Veilstone. See Unown in the Soloceon Ruins. That's pretty much all you need to know to get through the game of D/P. Good luck and have fun! Game on! |
