Secret - What's EV training???

by josed Oct 04, 2010

EV training is when you train your Pokemon in only one stat. Let say you are training your pikachu in Atk. You will only be fighting wiled Kirketoon's. There are some helpful items that help you EV train like power barace. you can get it at the battle frontier for 15 or 16 points. Something else that will help you EV train is the pkrs. You get it when a pokemon has it you might get one and i will say pkrs in the top. You can spread pkrs by putiong only to pokemon in your party the one that has pkrs and the one you want to get the pkrs. Fight two pokemon with the pokemon that has pkrs. after you fight the two pokemon your other pokemon might have the pkrs. The pkrs help you by doubling your pokemon training stats lets say you train your pokemon in atk you will get 5 points with the pkrs you will get 10. make sure before you turn ok your ds always put your pokemon with pkrs in the pc.

(Note: If you want to train your Pokemon in Atk only fight one Pokemon don't fight different Pokemon.)

Secret - What are EVs

by FCSNAKE Jul 30, 2010

EVs, or "Effort Values", are external values important to the overall training
of a Pokemon. They are gained, along with Experience Points (EXP), from any
Pokemon you battle, may it be in the wild or from other trainers (though, as a
side-note, Pokemon from the Battle Frontier do not give EVs, as they do not
give EXP as well).

Each Pokemon has a unique set of EVs they give out, 1-3 EVs for one, or
sometimes two, stats. For every four EVs a Pokemon obtains, that's one point
added to the stat with four EVs. For example, if you fight four Sentret (which
give 1 Attack EV each), you gain 4 Attack EVs, which means +1 in the Attack

Sounds neat, right? But, of course, there are limits. A Pokemon can only gain a
total of 510 EVs, and 255 EVs per stat. That means the maximum stat bonus EVs
can give per stat is 63, should you give 252 EVs to one stat. 252 is the
accepted bonus, as it is the highest number less than 255 divisible by 4. With
that said, 252/252/6 is pretty much the most basic EV spread for a Pokemon,
adding 63 points to two stats and 1 point to one stat.

So yeah, it's very important. An un-EV trained Pokemon almost always falls to a
properly-EV trained Pokemon of the same level. Add in IVs and Natures, and
you've used your Pokemon to its fullest battling potential.

Secret - Wild Pokemon Item Tips

by Bramblefang Jan 06, 2010

Are you trying to get a Pokemon that hold a certain item

Maybe a Lucky Egg or a Dragon Fang

Well, some Pokemon have great abilities that help them look for Wild Pokemon Hold Item.

Ability ~ Frisk

The Pokemon with this ability allows them to see their opponent's hold item upon entering battles.

Stantler, Banette, and Shuppet may have this ability on them.

This ability will save you some Pokeballs and you know which Pokemon you should catch.

Ability ~ Compoundeyes

First of all, it raises your Pokemon's Accuracy by 30% in battle.

Outside of Battle ~ It increases the chance of finding a Wild Pokmon holding an item by 50%. The Pokemon with this ability should be in front of the party for the ability to take affect.

Butterfree, Nincada, Venonat, and Yanma are the Pokemon that may have this ability.

~ Thanks to Bulbapedia for Ability Information ~

~ Good Strategy ~

Make sure that you have two Pokemon and that one knows Frisk and the other knows Compoundeyes. Make the Pokemon with Compoundeyes faint and put it in front of the team. *The ability will still take effect!* By doing this, you have a 50% chance of getting a Wild Pokemon with an item, but also, you'll send out the Pokemon with Frisk first in battle so you can easily tell what Wild Pokemon have items! You don't have to waste any time catching every Pokemon you meet just for an item now!

Secret - Controlling Roaming Pokemon

by Stud Dec 22, 2009

The roaming pokemon zapdos, articuno, mesprit, and cresselia are all found after beating the game (ask around for info on the 3 birds and cresselia. thats another cheat lol.) and they are frustrating to track. every time you fly, they run. well if thats you then here ya go:
Go to a city that connects DIRECTLY to a route.(example: south, north, and east of jubilife.) not with a little building between. DIRECTLY. the roaming pokemon will automatically move. do this over and over again and they will come to the route near you. get close to then and fight them. Good luck, happy holidays, and enjoy!
( They move when you
1. Fly
2. Switch Routes)

Secret - Chaining Pokemon

by FireWolf181 Jun 12, 2009

When Youre Chaining Pokemon There Are Three Different Grass Patches: Regular Patch, White Patch And Then The Shiny One That Means There Is A Shiny Pokemon.

Rules When Chaining:

1. Always Have Lots Of Repel
2. Never Walk Into A Patch That Is On The Edge Of The Grass Or Directly Behind You
3. The Farther Away The Patch, The More Likely That It Will Be The Same Pokemon
4. If You Started Off With 4 Patches Moving Make Sure You Always See 4 Patches Moving
5. When In Doubt Walk Until You Have Recharged Your Pokeradar And Use It Again (Only Step In The Same 2 Patches So You Dont Run Into Another Pokemon)
6. If A Pokemon Is Swarming It Is Easier To Get A Shiny Of That Pokemon
7. If Your Chaining A Certain Type Of Pokemon Take Advantage Of The Ability Static, Smarm, Magnet Pull etc that Attract A Certain Type Of Pokemon
8. Always Have The PokeRadar Registered To The Y Button

Easter Egg - Find shinies easier!

by ckjkj Dec 10, 2010

The Pokemon that you are seeking a Shiny form of must be a Pokemon that is able to be found in the grass with the PokeRadar.
Alright, every time you increase your streak of finding the same Pokemon with the PokeRadar, the chance of the next Pokemon of that kind being a Shiny will increase! HINT: If you go to the tile farthest away from Lucas/Dawn when you use the PokeRadar, the chance of the Pokemon hiding in there being the same as before greatly increases.
For example, if you can get a streak of 40 Starly, the chance of the next Starly found with the PokeRadar will be 1/204, MUCH less than the chance of finding random shinies, which is 1/8192!
Happy Hunting!!!

Secret - Honey Trees

by lil_shiny Jun 04, 2009

First of all, you can now purchase honey one at a time, or 10 at a time in the same place as Diamond/Pearl (Floaroma Meadow), they cost $100 each.

Honey Trees

Honey Trees are the method on which you can place the Honey. After you place the Honey on a particular tree, return to it in six hours and the tree should be rustling. It has a Pokmon on it that you can now battle. This Pokmon is decided when you apply the Honey to the tree, however you will have the ability to reset in front of the tree to get the gender of Pokmon that you want. So if you want a female Combee or a Male Burmy, you'll be able to reset here until you get one. Here are the locations of the Trees throughout Sinnoh;

* Route 205
* Route 206
* Route 207
* Route 208
* Route 209
* Route 210
* Route 211
* Route 212
* Route 213
* Route 214
* Route 215
* Route 218
* Route 221
* Route 222
* Eterna Forest
* Floaroma Meadow
* Fuego Ironworks
* Valley Windworks

This is a list of pokmon found in Honey Trees and I've added the chance of getting each;

* Wurmple - 30%
* Combee - 20%
* Aimpon - 15%
* Burmy - 15%
* Chrubi - 15%
* Heracross - 4%
* Muchlax - 1%

Obviously, Munchlax is the hardest to get. If you put honey on 100 tree's (actually impossible to do at the same time but w/e) you're pretty much guarantee'd to get at least one seeing as the chances of getting one are 1/100. You will get 4 Heracross' if you do this and 15 Aimpom, Burmy and Cherubi and so on :)

Secret - Fear Lv.1 Pokemon

by Bramblefang Jan 07, 2010

Get a low level Pokemon with these stats.

Recommended Stats:

Item:Focus Sash
Moves: Endeavor, Quick Attack and any other two moves.

Endeavor can be taught to you by one of the Move Tutors...the one in the Survival Area.
Starly can learn Quick Attack while leveling up...

Reccomended Pokemon: Starly, Rattata

Battle Outcome:

Opponent attacks.

Your Pokemon survives the first hit with 1HP because of the Focus sash.

Your Pokemon then uses Endeavor making your opponent's Pokemon have 1HP as well.

Then, your Pokemon uses Quick Attack and attacks first, defeating your opponents Pokemon.

Typed it myself, but strategy goes to Marriland

Now, this strategy won't always work. Here is a counter against it.

A Counter (I made this one)

Have a higher level Pokemon with Quick Attack or Extreme Speed.

The outcome would probably be this.

Your Pokemon attacks.

Opponent survives the first hit with 1HP because of the Focus sash.

Opponent then uses Endeavor making your Pokemon have 1HP as well.

Then, your Pokemon uses Quick Attack or Extreme Speed and attacks first, defeating your opponents Pokemon.

I hope this strategy works for you :)

Secret - Gardenia's Cherrim

by Unregistered Sep 04, 2009

Once you have defeated the Elite 4 and helped Buck beat Team Galactic in Stark Mountain, go to the Gym leader club in the Survival area. If Gardenia is there, challenge her to a battle. If you have a fire type that has high speed stats and knows the TM sunny day, then when she sends out Cherrim, send out your fire pokemon and use sunny day. When it's Gardenia's turn, she will use sunny day too. So that way, her attack will miss and you can have your second turn.

by mudkipmaster Jun 30, 2009

Battle hall:a series of one-on-one battles.youchoose one pokemon and are shown a choice of possible types you can fight against. as you battle progress through the hall the oppenents' pokemon raise in level. you can't exit until you've had 10 battles in a row.

battle arcade:taking part in either 3v3(single) or 4v4(double)battles all items are removed from ur pokemon and the player has 2 spin a roulette wheel before battling the wheel will effect things such as status changes weather changes and lv changes and hel berries.

battle factory:works in the same way as the battle factor in pokemon emeral ur presented with 6 random rental pokemon and have 2 choose 3 of them 2 battle with another trainer with rental pokemon after beating the trainer you can trade rental pokemon with them.

battle tower:returning from diamond and pearl the bttle tower sees u chosing 3 pokemon(with their lvs reduced 2 50 2 make things even)and usng them 2 battle 7 trainers in a row in progressevly harder battles thankfully ur pokemon are healed after each battle.

Secret - Battle Tower

by paleHorse91 Nov 14, 2008

The Battle Tower has remained the same since D/P. Win 7 battles in a row to complete one level. Each consecutive battle gets increasingly difficult. Even seasoned trainers will have a hard time getting through 50 consecutive wins. Like in D/P, the Frontier Brain is Palmer.

You can choose between these four different battle options:
