Walkthrough - Legendaries that u can get before the national pokedex[ROTM] #479 ROTOM =============================================================================== LOCATION: Old Chateau TYPE: Electric / Ghost LEVEL FOUND: 20 HM MOVES REQUIRED: HM01 Cut ABILITY: Levitate CATCH RATE: 45 SIGNATURE MOVE: None BASE STAT TOTAL: 440 RECOMMENED NATURES: Timid BASE STATS: (Top is original form, bottom are any alternate forms) 50 HP / 50 ATK / 77 DEF / 95 SATK / 77 SDEF / 91 SPD 50 HP / 65 ATK / 107 DEF / 105 SATK / 107 SDEF / 86 SPD OTHER NOTES: - You can only get Rotom at night. (I THINK, anyway) MOVES WHEN CAUGHT ------------------- NAME TYPE CATEGORY POWER EXTRA EFFECTS Thundershock Electric Special 40 10% chance of paralyze. Confuse Ray Ghost Other --- Confuses the opponent. Uproar Normal Special 50 Prevents SLP. Hits 2-5 times. Double Team Normal Other --- Raises evasion one level. I personally don't consider Rotom a legendary because of its average stats, but as a one-off Pokemon, I may as well include it. Rotom has had one specific change in Platinum - you can now catch it BEFORE the National Dex. As soon as you beat Gardenia and get the bicycle/Underground Kit, you can exit into Eterna Forest. You should find Gardenia waiting there - if she is there, then Rotom is in the house. The rest is the same as D/P... Head upstairs and into the northern set of rooms, then find the one with the TV in it. Save and press A on the TV, and you'll be asked if you want to thump it. Say yes, and you'll hear a cry, and the ...legendary music will start. This thing isn't too powerful or too hard to catch. Just... catch it. If you wish to find out more about Rotom's alternate forms, check the Alternate Form section. =============================================================================== [GITA] #487 GIRATINA =============================================================================== SINNOH DEX NUMBER: #210 LOCATION: The Torn World (at the very end.) TYPE: Ghost & Dragon LEVEL FOUND: 47 HM MOVES REQUIRED: HM03 Surf, HM08 Rock Climb, HM04 Strength ABILITY: Pressure CATCH RATE: 3 SIGNATURE MOVE: Shadow Force BASE STAT TOTAL: 680 BASE STATS: (Top is Another Forme, bottom is Origin Forme) 150 HP / 100 ATK / 120 DEF / 100 SATK / 120 SDEF / 90 SPD 150 HP / 120 ATK / 100 DEF / 120 SATK / 100 SDEF / 90 SPD OTHER NOTES: - Giratina is an UBER, which means it cannot be used in the standard metagame. MOVES WHEN CAUGHT ------------------- NAME TYPE CATEGORY POWER EXTRA EFFECTS Ominous Wind Ghost Special 60 10% chance of raising all stats. Ancientpower Rock Special 60 10% chance of raising all stats. Dragon Claw Dragon Physical 80 None. Shadow Force Ghost Physical 120 Disappears 1st turn, attacks 2nd. Getting Giratina, the mascot of Pokemon Platinum, is a lot more complicated than it was in Diamond and Pearl. Giratina is no longer in the Turnback Cave but rather it is found in the very depths of the Torn World, an area which is accessed once you reach the top of the Spear Pillar and defeat Galactic Admins Mars and Jupiter in a double battle. The Torn World can be called a platformer in some ways. It does not hold any Wild Pokemon or any items (except one, but I'll get to that later) but it is made up of a large number of platforms which you must traverse. You must move rock platforms places, ride rock elevators, and move boulders while seeing Cynthia, Cyrus and the legendary pixie trio along the way. It can get very, very confusing. In addition you even have to occasionally walk on a sideways platform and in one instance, Surf upside down. But the really hard part is the boulder puzzle. If you manage to get past the large expanse of the Torn World (since this isn't a walkthrough for the Torn World, I won't be explaining it) then you will reach Cyrus at the end - this is where the final battle with him is in Platinum. Once you defeat his five Pokemon (same as DP except with an addition of a Houndoom) Cynthia will heal your Pokemon and allow you access even further. As you go across platforms, eventually you will hear Giratina and it will come to you, watching you quietly. This is your chance to save - do so, and press A on it to engage it in battle. As Giratina is in Origin Forme in the Torn World, it can actually be quite devastating. Your team, if you have been battling the majority of trainers, is likely to be somewhere from 45-50 which is about on par with Giratina. Once you get its health low enough however, then comes the catching part. Dusk Balls are effective as the Torn World is in darkness but the hard part is surviving Giratina's attacks - there isn't really anything that can block all of them. One thing you must be careful for is the stat boost it can get from Ominous Wind and Ancientpower - both of these moves have the ability to raise every single stat of Giratina's by 1 level with a chance of 10%. As it has a chance of doing this a total of 10 times, you MUST finish this as quick as possible. Status, Dusk Balls, the works. Master Ball only if you really have to, though. Once you catch it, there will be more dialogue and you will be teleported out of the Torn World into the Sendoff Spring. Unfortunately, outside of the Torn World, Giratina returns to its Another Forme, the one in D/P. However, there is a way to get it to stay in Origin Forme... visit the Alternate Forms section for more info on that. P.S: You need to talk to Rowan after you exit the Torn World to go to Sunyshore. Just in case you're having problems with that part. =============================================================================== [UXIE] #480 UXIE =============================================================================== SINNOH DEX NUMBER: #146 LOCATION: Lake Acuity TYPE: Psychic LEVEL FOUND: 50 HM MOVES REQUIRED: HM03 Surf, HM08 Rock Climb ABILITY: Levitate CATCH RATE: 3 SIGNATURE MOVE: None BASE STAT TOTAL: 580 BASE STATS: 75 HP / 75 ATK / 130 DEF / 75 SATK / 130 SDEF / 95 SPEED OTHER NOTES: - Nothing of note. MOVES WHEN CAUGHT ------------------- NAME TYPE CATEGORY POWER EXTRA EFFECTS Confusion Psychic Special 50 10% chance of causing confusion. Yawn Normal Other --- Opponent falls asleep next turn. Future Sight Psychic Special 80 Strikes two turns after use. Amnesia Psychic Other --- Raises SDEF by two stages. Uxie is the yellow pixie of the legendary trio, and is also the defensive one. Uxie is an efficent wall, sporting a fairly good defensive moveset, but it has really bad attacking stats, and pretty bad HP too. Compare this to Cresselia, who has slightly less defense, but a hell of a lot more HP, and you've got a Pokemon that really doesn't need to be used. Though I suppose Uxie does have the ability to use Yawn and Stealth Rock. Nonetheless you must engage in battle with it to get it into your Pokedex, so you'll have to at some point. You can catch Uxie as soon as you complete the Torn World and at Lake Acuity near Snowpoint City. Getting to Uxie in Platinum is very slightly more complicated - you now require Rock Climb to get onto a ledge where the entrance to Lake Acuity is located. Other than that, it is the same as D/P. Just surf to the cavern and engage it in battle. Uxie, along with Mesprit and Azelf gets its own theme music, which seems to have an egyptian feel to it. Although Uxie is at Level 50, it probably won't kill you quickly by any means. Just work on whittling down its HP, then start throwing the balls. It could be pretty hard to catch. That's all there is to it. =============================================================================== [MSPT] #481 MESPRIT =============================================================================== SINNOH DEX NUMBER: #147 LOCATION: Lake Verity BEFORE you talk to it. TYPE: Psychic LEVEL FOUND: 50 HM MOVES REQUIRED: HM03 Surf, Poketch Map (Optional, but VERY useful) ABILITY: Levitate CATCH RATE: 3 SIGNATURE MOVE: None BASE STAT TOTAL: 580 RECOMMENDED NATURES: Modest, Bold, Timid, Calm BASE STATS: 80 HP / 105 ATK / 105 DEF / 105 SATK / 105 SDEF / 80 SPEED OTHER NOTES: - Mesprit is one of the five Platinum runners. - A Master Ball is somewhat recommended to catch this Pokemon. - Mesprit's nature and stats are set when it runs away from Lake Verity. MOVES WHEN CAUGHT ------------------- NAME TYPE CATEGORY POWER EXTRA EFFECTS Confusion Psychic Special 50 10% chance of causing confusion. Lucky Chant Normal Other --- No critical hits for 5 turns. Future Sight Psychic Special 80 Strikes two turns after use. Charm Normal Other --- Lowers opponent's ATK by 2 stages. Mesprit, the balanced one of the psychic trio, and my personal favourite. Once you have finished the Torn World and spoken to Rowan, head over to Twinleaf Town and then to Lake Verity which is very close by. Once there, Surf into the cave in the middle and talk to Mesprit. You will be shown its sprite which will be added to your PokéDex, then it will disappear. Now, it will appear randomly around Sinnoh. Now, sit through Rowan's talk, then you can go hunting for it. Now, how to find Mesprit? Unlike G/S/C/R/S/E/FR/LG, you cannot simply view the Pokedex to see its location. Instead, you get an even easier option - view the pink critter on the map of your Poketch! You can get this app from a guy on the first floor of the Poketch Building in Jubilife City after 3 badges. Although, you can just hope you encounter it, which is why the Poketch is optional. But it is pretty damn hard to encounter it randomly. Simply track down Mesprit onto a route that you and it are on, then encounter it. The usual trio music will play, and your Level 50 Mesprit will appear. Either Master Ball it, or sleep/Mean Look it and start whittling down its HP. Any damage/status (like paralyze) it obtains will stay every time you encounter it. Note that you can also save in a patch of grass, and reset. This changes the location of Mesprit, so you can keep doing this until its in your route. Then, try a Max Repel with a Pokemon under 50 but higher than the Wild Pokemon in the area to encounter it easily. Actually, you should enable the repel before you save, as then you can keep resetting and have the repel active. And FYI, you cannot encounter Mesprit (and likewise, Cresselia) on the island in the northeast. =============================================================================== [AZLF] #482 AZELF =============================================================================== SINNOH DEX NUMBER: #148 LOCATION: Lake Valor TYPE: Psychic LEVEL FOUND: 50 HM MOVES REQUIRED: HM03 Surf ABILITY: Levitate CATCH RATE: 3 SIGNATURE MOVE: None BASE STAT TOTAL: 580 RECOMMENDED NATURES: Naive, Timid, Rash, Modest BASE STATS: 75 HP / 125 ATK / 70 DEF / 125 SATK / 70 SDEF / 115 SPD OTHER NOTES: - Nothing of note. MOVES WHEN CAUGHT ------------------- NAME TYPE CATEGORY POWER EXTRA EFFECTS Confusion Psychic Special 50 10% chance of causing confusion. Uproar Normal Special 50 Hits for 2-5 turns. Stops sleep. Future Sight Psychic Special 80 Strikes two turns after use. Nasty Plot Dark Other --- Raises SATK by two stages. Azelf is the sweeper of the trio, but it's so much more powerful than Uxie and Mesprit. It learns a variety of moves, including Explosion which runs very good off its 125 attack base, putting a huge dent in Blissey even when Azelf has a -Atk nature like Timid, though the standard is Hasty or Naive. Azelf also learns good moves such as Nasty Plot, U-Turn, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Fire Blast, and more. It truly is an impressive Pokemon, although a bit frail. However, its sheer movepool is what gives it an advantage over Alakazam in the special sweeper department. Like the only thing Zam gets that Azelf doesn't is Focus Blast. Anyway, I think I've explained how awesome it is. To get Azelf, you must go to Lake Valor (which I personally think looks ugly without a u but that's how the game spells it) which is located south of Veilstone City, east of Pastoria and west of Sunyshore. Once again, Surf on the lake and reach the cavern, and save in front of it. Talk to it and engage in battle, theme music playing. This is pretty much identical to Uxie, right down to the effective Pokeballs like Dusk Balls. As Azelf is quite useful, you may want to try getting a good nature with it. However, there is a slight problem - its catch rate is too low to keep getting it normally and you may want that Master Ball for something else. If you wish to keep Azelf until after you can Pal Park more Master Balls in, you must engage it in battle but it has to kill you. That way, it will still be in your Pokedex and still be in Lake Valor too. Of course, if you don't want to try for a nature then just catch it normally. |

Technically rotm is not a legendary because you can breed it which makes a aceint not a legendary like lucario.
