The VERY first Walkthrough created about this on CheatsGuru!! You start out as a rookie ranger in the land of Arumia( I think thats the name?) and you can choose your partner out of Pachirisu, Starly, Munchlach( I think). Also, you can get other partners by doing optional quests. You can obtain Piplup, Turtwig, Chimchar, Sneasel ummm....theres more but I forget them. Also you can get the DP legends by events.
