In the Goldenrod game corner you can buy a Dratini for 2,100 coins. Another way is if you
beat Clair, and then go through the cutscene with the Dragon's Den, you can get one. Go
back to Clair's grandfather with an empty slot in your party and he will give you a lvl 15
Dratini. I believe they evolve at lvl 30 and then lvl 55. There might be another way to
get one but I don't know it.
Funny thing is, sice Dragonairs evolve to Dragonite at lvl 55, that means Lance's
Dragonites are underleveled. Weird, eh?
So anyway, I hope it helped. Now I just need the 2000 charachters for a walkthrough... I
didn't want to change it to hint since then I'd lose my typing, so yeah. How do I get 2000
charachters? Gah!
Spam maybe? Nah, more about Dratini.
Dratini, I think is the easiest Dragon-type to obtain in the game. It is also the only
pure Dragon type in any game, save for Dragonair. Take Altaria for example. It is also a
flying-type. Or Gible & evolutions. They are also ground types. Or even Dialga, Palkia,
and Giratina. Well, I suppose Arceus could be a pure Dragon type, but it would be hard.
Dratini's last evolution, Dragonite, has an extreme weakness to Ice, though a *6 weakness
isn't in any game. But even so, if you add the *4 weakness Dragons have to Ice with the *2
Flying ones do, then you get a *6 weakness. Horrible, eh? That is why you really should
bring an Ice-type to battle Lance with to kill the 3 Dragonites. Only careful around the
Charizard.
Anyway, I still havn't reached 2000 charachters, so spam then? Nope, more stuffs.
What should I write...
Well, if you happen to have any Dragon-type pokemon in your party, my advice is get a
Fire-type. Water-types could also do the trick. Or if it's an annoying Dewgong,
Electric-types will work.
Anyhow, Dragon-type pokemon are great, they have many resistances. The problem is that the
only thing they are super effective againdt is other Dragons. That could turn out to be a
big problem if you think offense is the best defense. If you think defense is the best
offense, Dragon-types will be great for you.
Another perk is a tutor in the house where the man will teach your starter moves, there is
a woman who will teach a Dragon-type Draco Meteor. The catch? It has to have full
happiness. However, on a Dragon-type pokemon, it is insanely powerful. Due to the STABS,
it has(if I remember right) 210 BP, the original power being 140 and then adding on the
STABS. The STABS(Same Type Attack Bonus) will multiply that attack by 1.5.
