Hello and welcome to my FAQ for Scribblenauts. This game apparently caused
some massive hype at the Electronic Entertainment Expo and E3. Something that
went completely over my head. However, once I found out what everyone else
knew months ago, I decided to give Scribblenauts a go.
By this stage though, the game has been uber-hyped up to a stage that it needs
to be a cross between Final Fantasy and Zelda. And probably Call of Duty as
well. This has led to some (IGN) complaining that this game threw away all
it's potential. I don't agree with that. At least 5th Cell have tried
something new.
At the moment, the guide is very much incomplete. Bear with me, because soon
it will be finished.

Summoning stuff is pretty easy. Just type in what ever you imagination can
come up with. You can do this using the notepad in the top right hand corner.
There are a few rules as to what you can summon though:
• Must be a physical thing (e.g. not Happiness)
• Must not be copyrighted (e.g. not Coca Cola)
• Must be in the dictionary (the in-game dictionary)
• No illicit material (e.g. booze, drugs, porn)
Follow the rules and you'll get along fine.
B a s i c  G a m e p l a y

• Drop electical items into water to electrocute anything in the water.
• Don't forget that you can add objects to each other to create combos. These
can be more useful than single items.
• To swim underwater, Maxwell will need a device to help him (e.g. SNORKEL,
OXYGEN MASK).
• To fly, Maxwell with need something to help him (e.g. GAF, REINDEER).
• If you make Maxwell run towards a gap, he will jump over it. Similar to what
Link does in Zelda games.
• Let you imagination run wild. If you are struggling to think of different
words, check out the Useful Dictionary Words chapter further down the guide.
• You can toggle puzzle/action modes by touching the icon in the lower right
corner of the level select screen.

Answer: Basically follow the on-screen instructions. Walk to the right. Once
you reach the cliff, look down before dropping off of the edge. Head
to the right, jumping over the small ledge as you go. Grab the STARITE
to complete the puzzle.

hill. Get out of the PLANE and grab the RAY GUN. Shoot the target to
get the STARITE.

from the water (delete the SHARK first) and the one to the left.
Put these in the basket.
ANSWER 2: Use a CROCODILE to take out the bee and the pirhana. Now, use a
HELICOPTER to reach the last flower. Now put the flowers in the
basket.
ANSWER 3: Use a DRAGON (CREATURE) to kill the bee and the pirhana. Now use a
PLANE to reach the final flower.

the block. The fan will blow the block into the button. Now, grab
the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Put a RAMP next to the button. Drop a METAL BOX on the RAMP and it
will slide down and touch the button, leaving you free to get the
Starite.

ANSWER 1: Place some STEPS in the middle of the plank. Walk up the steps. Use
a MAGNET to move the metal box. Attach a ROPE to the Starite to
pull it out and reach it.
ANSWER 2: Place a LADDER on the plank and climb it. Attach a ROPE to the metal
box and pull it out of the way. Take the same ROPE and pull out the
Starite.
ANSWER 3: Place an ESCALATOR on the plank. At the top, wedge yourself down the
left hand side of the metal box. This will knock it out of the way.
Attach a CHAIN to the Starite to collect it.

and work your way through the wall. You are now free to collect the
Starite.
ANSWER 2: Summon SHOVEL and dig down. Now summon PEGASUS and ride him up to
the switch. Flick it. Head to the right and dig down. Use Pegasus
to ride up to the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Use a MAGIC CARPET to reach the switch. Drop down to the right and
use TNT and a GUN to break through the wall. Now grab the Starite.

into falling off a cliff. Dig down with a SHOVEL. Use a JETPACK to
reach the Starite.

then kill the bear. Use a PARACHUTE to float down to the Starite.

the red rock. As you fall, make sure you move to the side to avoid
the mine. Use SHRINK MAGIC on the LUNAR LANDER, then use it to get
to the Starite.

ANSWER 2: A little bit of a trick here. Use a SHRINK RAY on the guard to the
right. Drop a CRATE between the guard and the Starite. The guard
will now not attack you. Go to the right and destroy the camera with
a CUTLASS. You are now free to collect the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Summon a ROC and use SHRINK MAGIC on it. Fly to the upper section
and go right over the top of the guard. Use a CHAINSAW to destroy
the objects on the right. Quickly grab the Starite from here.

ANSWER 1: Place a BATHTUB on the slope beneath the dropping bombs. The bombs
will fall into the tub and stay there. Once you have contained two
bombs, they will stop falling.
Use a WINGS to get up the slope and pass over the BATH. Place
a WALL next to the conveyor belt that is firing the next lot of
BOMBS. Now, drop down and flick the switch. Head back and collect
the Starite.
ANSWER 2: Place a CRATE on the slope. This will stop the bombs from rolling.
Once you have stopped two bombs, they will stop falling. Use a
MAGIC CARPET to get to the slope.
Drop a CUPBOARD on the next slope to stop the bombs. Drop down,
and flick the switch. Use the MAGIC CARPET to get back to the
Starite.
ANSWER 3: Place a SLIDE (TOY) on the slope. THis will stop the bombs from
rolling. Use a JETPACK to get up to the slope. Use a BLACK HOLE to
stop the next lot of BOMBS. Drop down, flick the switch and head
back to the Starite.

Shoot the other two guys from distance. Use a TRAMPOLINE to get the
Starite down.
ANSWER 2: Let your ally and the enemy with the rocket launcher take each other
out. Now, head to the right and summon your a GRENADE. Throw it at
the remaining enemies. Now use a GUN to shoot down the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Let your ally and the enemy with the rocket launcher take each other
out. Summon a TANK and use this to kill the other enemies. Either
shoot them or run them over. Position the TANK under the Starite and
put a LADDER on top of the tank. From here you can reach the Starite
if you jump by walking off of the LADDER.

ANSWER 1: Summon a SPRING and turn it upside down. Drop it on the Starite and
it should spring it away from the TNT. Hopefully, you can get it to
fall into the water. PICKAXE away the platform at the start. Drop a
SHARK into the water to take out the alligator. Delete the SHARK,
then drop into the water and collect the Starite.
ANSWER 2: A bit of a glitch involved with this one. Summon a TORNADO and get
it as close to the Starite as possible. Sometimes, you can get the
TORNADO to shoot the Starite straight through the red wall. All you
have to do then is collect the Starite.
If the glitch doesn't work, get the Starite to drop into the water.
Then all you need to do is break the platform near the start with an
AXE. Use GOD to kill the alligator, then collect the Starite from
the water.
ANSWER 3: Position a LIGHTNING cloud above the TNT. This will blow the TNT
up, but the Starite will be safe. Break the wooden platform with
a HAMMER. Take the alligator out with a BLACK HOLE. Now, go through
the water and use WINGS to reach the Starite.

HINT    : Fire vents in the fire house?
ANSWER 1: Use a GUN to shoot a gap in the thin ceiling above. Fly up to the
higher floor with a MAGIC CARPET. Push the button to the right to
extinguish one of the fires.
Place a FAN (TOOL) next to the ice block to the right. This will
push the button here and extinguish the other two fires. Now, head
to the right and collect the Starite.
ANSWER 2: Shoot the a gap in the ceiling with a SNIPER RIFLE. Get up to the
higher floor using a SPRING. Head to the right and hit the button
by jumping. Use the SPRING to get back up.
Head over to the left and use a SPRING to reach the floor with the
fires on. Use WATER (ENVIRONMENT) to put out the fires. Drop down
and get the Starite. Use the SPRING to get over the fire engine if
you have trouble.
ANSWER 3: Shoot a gap in the ceiling with a MACHINE GUN. Use a JETPACK to get
to the higher floor. Jump up to push the button. Head over to the
left and get to the fires.
Summon an ESCALATOR. You need to flip it upside-down, but you can't
do that automatically. Instead, drop it on the edge of the cliff to
the right and it will fall and hopefully flip over. If that happens
it will shoot along the ground and smash into the fire engine. Now,
place the ESCALATOR next to the block of ice and it will push it up
against the button, extinguishing the fires. Now, drop down to the
right and JETPACK over the fire engine to get the Starite.

HINT    : The easy way is the most dangerous!
ANSWER 1: Summon a FAN (TOOL). Place it just to the left of the truck, but
facing to the right. Make sure you don't put it in front of the gas
station, or it will disappear inside. Anyway, keep moving the FAN
until the truck has rolled onto the concrete area to the right.
Now, shoot the rope holding the bowling ball with a GUN. The ball
will drop and the barrels will explode. The landscape to the right
will be blown up and the Zombie will drop to the lower ground. Spawn
another ZOMBIE and he will hopefully kill the other one.
Delete the ZOMBIE and drop down there with Maxwell. Use a LADDER to
reach the Starite.
ANSWER 2: When you start the Starite will be right in front of the gas
station. However, if you wait a while, you will see the rope holding
it retract. This is good for you.
Once this has happened, you are free to break the rope holding the
bowling ball with a NINJA STAR. This will cause the massive
explosion, but the Starite should be safe. If the zombie survives,
kill him with GOD. Now, use a TRAMPOLINE to reach the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Summon a DRIVER (PERSON) and put him in the truck. He will drive
over to the right, moving the Starite to safety. Shoot the rope
holding the bowling ball to cause the explosion.
If the zombie survives, kill him with a RHINO. Delete the RHINO and
drop to the lower ground. Use a BALLOON (VEHICLE) to reach the
Starite.

the way and the SWAT will kill the guards. Pull the green lever and
use an ESCALATOR to get to the Starite.
ANSWER 2: Summon a RHINO and put it in the main area. Pull the lever and the
let the cons loose. Let the RHINO murder them. Move the RHINO onto
the ledge on the left, before pulling the blue lever. Quickly
retreat and move the RHINO toward the guards. Once they are gone,
delete the RHINO, then pull the green lever. Use an ELEVATOR to
reach the Starite.
ANSWER 3: Open the red doors and use a BLACK HOLE to kill two of the cons. You
can shoot the third with a SHOTGUN. Before opening the blue doors,
kill the guards with EVERYTHING. Now, pull the blue and green
levers. Use WINGS to reach the Starite.

kill it. Go to the right and spawn a WIRE. Attach the WIRE to the

Make sure they are as close as possible to each other. Head over to

ANSWER 3: Use a ROFLCOPTER to fly over to the penguin on the left. Stick some
GLUE to the ROFLCOPTER, then stick this combo to the penguin. Now,
fly back to the other penguins to get the Starite.

get back across. Collect the Starite.
ANSWER 2: Go over the bridge and place a TNT on the air vent. Let it rush to
the roof, then shoot it with a GUN. This will destroy the
stalactites. Spawn a ROPE and attach it to the Lamp. Pull the lamp
all the way back to the start.
ANSWER 3: Head to the right and shoot down the stalactites with a GRENADE.
Attach a WIRE to the lamp and pull the lamp back the the start.

ANSWER 1: If you position a CAR, so it is facing to the right and sits across
the trip wire, you can get past the wire without tripping it. Make
sure there is only the smallest part of the trunk on the left hand
side of the wire. Now, touch the CAR to get in it. Get out and you
should avoid tripping the wire.
Equip a GUN and drop into the lava. Shoot the Starite and it will
drop onto Maxwell before he is killed by the lava.
ANSWER 2: Summon some GLUE. Attach it to the bottom of the tripwire. Stick
a BRIDGE LADDER to the tripwire. Make some more GLUE and put it on
the other end of the bridge. Stick a BOX to the GLUE. Now walk
through the tripwire and the Starite will be caught by your
construction. Use a CHAINSAW to break the ice.
ANSWER 3: Drop a WHALE beneath the Starite. Walk through the tripwire and the
WHALE will catch the ice block. Break the ice with a HAMMER.

ANSWER 2: Use a GRENADE to break the stalacmite. Run straight into the column
and the rock will drop to the left. Use an AXE to break the column.
Grab the Starite before you get exploded.
ANSWER 3: Put a FAN to the right of the rock on top of the column. This will
blow the rock to the left. Use TNT to break the stalacmite. Use
Exacalibur to break anything in your way.

to the Red Caps and drop a TNT onto it. This will kill them. Use a
JETPACK to get to the other side. Use SHRINK MAGIC on the metal box
and you should be able to reach the Starite.
