Anyway, this is for SimAnimals, the game that allows you to play around with wildlife as God, or whatever the higher being is. Anyway, Enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [1.02] Version History Version 0.0 [28/1/09] Template Done. Version 0.1 [29/1/09] Started this ramshackle of a guide. Version 0.2 [1/2/09] More done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.01] Backyard You start off this mission with a small tutorial, so follow through that in order to figure out how this game works. So finish the Tutorial and when it finishes, we start this walkthough. You need to complete that happiness bar to finish this level, so shake down the trees, plant more of them, and constantly feed the squirrels in order to get that meter up. After a while, there will be a limit of three squirrels that enter the area. Keep them fed, and keep your new oak trees alive so you get more acorns. After playing through for a while, you get the message of Day and Night, and then, a Raccoon arrives to join the fray. Soon, after that, when the day arrives again, you get more squirrels to join the fray. Keep going, and sooner or later, you get access to the Wind ability, so read the little hint box there for some info as well. It isn't all that useful, so keep going on, feeding all the raccoons and the squirrels that decide to enter your backyard, and feed them, keep them happy and keep them going. After a while, you get the lightning ability as well. Now, to tackle the mission. You need an animal to sniff your hand, so move your hand slowly near the squirrel, and let them sniff it, and that would complete the objective. Next objective is to have an animal move in. Make them happy and have the home ready, for a tree, ready for the squirrel to move into the forest. You need to build their trust, and when that is done, they move in. Have their love bar completely full and they will move in. After that, you get two objectives. The first is to rub down an animal, follow the instructions and do so. That completes all the objectives for Squirrels. The second one is to make a mature Blackberry Bush. Get a Blackberry Seed and water it, and raise it into a Mature Bush. With a mature bush, they ask you to attract some Raccoons. If you already have them here, just wait for another one to come in. Or grow some more Blackberry bushes. Their next objective is to have a home ready, so shake down a tree and get them ready for the raccoon to move in. Next, get him to sniff the hand. Note that this will teach how to hollow a log, but I'll detail that later as well. Now, you need to actually have the raccoon to move in. Hollow out the tree and let it move in. And finally, you need to pet the raccoon, and that will complete all the goals for Level 1. When you have filled the Happiness Bar for this level, tap the signpost and move into the Tiny Creek. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.02] Tiny Creek Your first goal here is to pollinate the Sundial Lupine plant, so follow the instructions that are given and pollinate the plant, creating more flowers to fly around. During that time, a squirrel will turn up. Songbirds will also come along as well. If you are having problems, hold L and shake the plant, that works. Next, you need to attract a rose bush. Rose Bushes are gained when there are enough Sundial plants here, so pollinate more so that the rose bush turns up quickly. The next objective will stem from that, you need more rose bushes so that you attract a rabbit, which is your next goal. When there are enough rose bushes, the rabbits will turn up, and you will pass that objective. Now, feed the rabbit a rose flower. Shake a bush and feed it, that should be quite simple. Next, get the Rabbit to move in. They will dig their own holes, so when you have enough trust with them, they will move in and dig their own holes. And from that point, the objectives will split. To continue with the rabbit path, you need to have a one rabbit to befriend with another rabbit. To do that, just drop them near each other and they should, sooner or later, socialise and become friends. Make sure that it is a male and female rabbit, because the final goal is for the rabbits to have a baby. The reason for the male and female is that that will lead to babies and that completes the objectives for the rabbits this time round. The second set of objectives starts off requiring you to plant a maple tree, which isn't all that hard to be quite honest. And that leads you to attract a songbird, the little blue bird, and that isn't all that hard either. Wait and they will move in, if they haven't done so already. If they have, kick one out, and wait for one to move in. Following the Rabbits Path, you need to feed the songbird a Maple Seed. Again, following the path above, you need to have the songbird move in, and this does so by requiring sticks. To get sticks to build a nest, you need to knock down a bush, in this case, a rose bush. Knock it down, build up the trust with the songbird, and they will gather the sticks, make a nest, and move in. The next are exactly the same, you need to have two songbirds befriend each other, and after that, you need the songbirds to have a baby. Like I suggested earlier, you should have a male and female befriend each other, because that will make the second objective that much easier. And after that, you've done all the objectives for this mission, so you can move on to the next one via the signpost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.03] Thin Woods We start off this mission with a junkyard, and you have two goals straight off the bat. Clear all the junk in the area using water, and to attract crows. They are attracted via insects, found by pollinating flowers. Clear off one piece of junk, and then you get told to clear off all the junk in the area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.01] Squirrel The squirrel is one of the first creatures that you will meet and is one cute creature. They are quite to turn up as well. Now a quick note on how the system works. There are requirements that will draw in an animal. These requirements need to be sustained else the animal will move out. They can also move out if you don't feed them, or generally piss them off. What the animal likes to eat will be food that always be acceptable to the animal, but the food listed under the plants section shows what they are capable to eat. It will detail where the animals live, when they are up and about and the levels these animals appear on. Requirements: Oak or Pine Trees Likes to Eat: Acorn, Pinecones Lives in Trees Active During the Day Found in Backyard, Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.02] Raccoon The Raccoon is one of the creatures you will see soon after the Squirrel and they are nice creatures as well, as long as they don't smell like the skunks. Requirements: Blackberry Bush Likes to Eat: Blackberries, Fish, Apples Lives in Large Stumps Active During the Night Found in Backyard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.03] Songbird The Songbird is the first bird you will see on the second level. It is a blue bird, and they love to sing, which is nice. Anyway, if you want them to live, you need to give them some sticks, which are the remains of dead bushes, so that they can make nests in the trees. Requirements: Maple Tree Likes to Eat: Maple Seed, Pinecones Lives in Nests in Trees Active During the Day Found in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.04] Rabbit The rabbit is the first animal you will encounter that decides to build its own home by digging all over your land. You really don't have the control on where they live, so that is a hassle. When they like you enough, they will move along and dig holes in your land. Requirements: Rose Bush Likes to Eat: Roses Lives in Burrows in the Ground Active During the Day Found in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.05] Crows The black bird, the crow is a mean animal, after all, a group of crows is called a MURDER!!! They are the second type of bird you will encounter, and they like living in nests, as normal crows do. Requirements: Insects (Flowers Available for Pollination) Likes to Eat: Maple Seeds, Pinecones, Insects Lives in Nests in the Trees Active During the Day Found in Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.01] Oak Tree Oak Trees are one of the first trees that you will see, and these appear everywhere. They do take a up a lot of space when they want to be mature. You can see this when you read the icon glossary and see that a tree needs room, so clear out the surrounding area to allow it to grow into a mature tree. Seed => Acorns Home to Squirrels, Songbird, Crow Food for Squirrels Found in Backyard, Tiny Creek, Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.02] Pine Tree Pine Trees are the second most common tree and these appear from the very beginning. Again, they do take up a lot of space when they want to mature so keep an eye and move them around if they need more space. Seed => Pinecones Home to Squirrels, Songbird, Crow Food for Squirrels Found in Backyard, Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.03] Daisy Bush A common bush, these are just clumps of flowers bunched together. At least it isn't a daisy patch. Food for Rabbits Found in Backyard, Tiny Creek, Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.04] Blackberry Bush Another type of Bush, the Blackberry Bush grows some nice fruit that you can munch on if you are desperate. Note that it isn't advised, computer chips aren't that tasty. When the bush dies, which it will eventually, it will lose all the leaves in a temporary stage, until the twigs collapse into a pile of sticks. Seed => Blackberry Food for Raccoons Found in Backyard, Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.05] Cauliflower This is actually grown in a food patch, and is actually food for humans to eat, though you cannot eat it. Food for Rabbits Found in Backyard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.06] Maple Tree The Maple Tree was specially imported from Canada and stolen from them in order to appear in this game. Remember, they are trees, so make sure the area around them is clear for space to expand when they finish growing, Seed => Maple Seed Home to Squirrels, Songbird, Crow Attracts English Marigold Food for Squirrels Found in Tiny Creek, Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.07] English Marigold The English Marigold is a type of plant that is drawn or rather, attracted by maple trees. So having maple trees will attract these plants. Other than they, its just another plant. Food for Rabbits Attracts Jesseroot Found in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.08] Sundial Lupine The Sundial Lupine is a purple plant that sort of looks like your average Lavander plants. It does. Anyway, it is another plant that can be used to pollinate and grow everywhere when the insects arrive. Food for Rabbits Attracts Rose Bush. Found in Tiny Creek, Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.09] Rose Bush The Rose Bush is the item that attracts the rabbits. Rose Bushes are created when there are enough Sundial Lupine plants that it attracts a rose bush for you to grow. I'll avoid any Kissed by the Rose puns. Food for Rabbits Attracts Luke's Dream Found in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.10] Witchgrass Witchgrass seems to appear randomly, there are no set preconditions to make it appear. They seem to appear closer to the edge, and they serve as an alternative food for rabbits, to step them devouring your Rose Bushes. Food for Rabbits Found in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.11] Luke's Dream The first of the special plants, these are attracted by rose bushes. This is just a massive fungal growth. It can be eaten by animals and what it does is that it will improve the friendship bar and trust between all the animals and you, the creator. Food for Everyone Attractable in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.12] Jesseroot The Jesseroot is another special plant. This will be attracted by the English Marigold plants, which in turn are attracted by Maple Trees. This is a special plant because all animals can eat it, and it will solve all their hunger problems when they eat it. Food for Everyone Attractable in Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.13] Crocus The Crocus is another type of flower, they are used mainly to attract the walnut tree in the game, which is a rather nice tree. Food for Rabbits Attracts Walnut Tree Found in Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [4.14] Giant Ragweed The Giant Ragweed is a weed that is generated from a bunch of junk, and you should not let these grow, unless you want your rabbits to have an alternative source of food. Food for Rabbits Found in Thin Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.01] Small Log A Small Log is one part of a collapsed tree that isn't old. A collapsed tree is made when you shake the tree, like you would to get fruit, and keep shaking the tree until it breaks from the stump and dies. This splits the tree into two, making a small log and stump. When trees age for a long period of time, they will die. Mature trees or younger will result in small logs and stumps. The Small log can be the home to a weasels as well as a fox. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.02] Small Stump The other half of a broken tree that isn't old, the Small stump cannot be moved, unlike the log. It will be the home to skunks if they are hollow. When trees age for a long period of time, they will die. Mature trees or younger will result in small logs and stumps. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.03] Large Log Large Logs are one part of the collapse of an Old Tree. When you shake down a mature tree so that it collapses and breaks, killing the tree and splitting it into two, it will create a large log and a large Stump. When trees age for a long period of time, they will die. Old trees will collapse into large logs and large stumps. Large Logs are the home for Bears, Badgers and Wolves if they are hollow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.04] Large Stumps Large Stumps are the second part of the collapse of an Old Tree. It will provide the home for Raccoons and Porcupines when they are hollow. When they are moved into, there are will be some nice mushrooms and other forms of fungi growing all over it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.05] Sticks Sticks are the results of a bush that has been killed. When a bush is dried up and it is over, it will appear on the screen as a structure of the bush minus the leaves. This structure will collapse into sticks where the birds will use them to make nests. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.06] Rocks These rocks are seen everywhere, yet they don't seem to do anything. Thats what the descriptions says... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.07] Junk Junk is as it says, it is a pile of junk. It is demolished via the rain clouds that you can summon over it, but if you don't, it will grow weeds and mushrooms, and that requires you to do something. Clear them out, or have some weeds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [6.01] Animals There are three sets of achievements in the game. There is one related to the animals, which is for this section. The next section, forest, it based on the goals of the games and finally, plants is for seeing all the plants in the game. Anyway. animals will all have the same achievements. There are three achievements for each animal, and they are all the same. I will list here how to get the three achievements and the earliest you can get the awards based on how early the animals appear. Award A - Making the Animal Very Happy All you need to do is to feed the animal, play with it, pet and sniff the animal until it will have a complete happiness bar, and you get this achievement. Award B - Seen an Animal's Baby You need a female and male adult version the animal, and they both need to be living in your forest. They will, over time, build a relationship and they will profess their love for one another, making out and creating a baby. Award c - Attracting an Animal This is quite easy, since the animals will appear inside your forest over a period of time as you develop it. More will be in the animal section as that comes to light. Animals List Squirrel -> Backyard Raccoon -> Backyard Rabbit -> Tiny Creek Songbird -> Tiny Creek ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [6.02] Forest The forest awards are based on the missions. There are 10 missions and there are 2 medals for each of them. Below are the objectives for each award for each mission. The medal for the level will depend on what you do. You will get bronze if you complete the level. Completing full objectives for either animal will net you the silver, completing both will get gold. --==Backyard==-- Squirrel -> Sniff the Squirrel Have the Squirrel Move In Pet the Squirrel Raccoon -> Sniff the Raccoon Have the Raccoon Move In Pet the Raccoon --==Tiny Creek==-- Rabbit -> Get Rabbit to eat a Rose Flower Get the Rabbit to Move In Get the Rabbit to befriend another Rabbit Have a Rabbit Baby Songbird -> Get Songbird to eat a Maple Seed Get the Songbird to Move In Get the Songbird to befriend another Songbird Have a Songbird Baby ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [6.03] Plants There are many plants in the game, and below is a list of the plants, the earliest you can see then, and the number they are on the list.
