Due to Wario being in Super Mario 64 DS, people considered Waluigi to be in Super Mario 64 DS. People have made many theories as well. It was even more convincing when there is a black 2D box on the title screen. This was originally supposed to be a secret level in the beta game, but forgotten to take it out. Another convincing rumor is the purple in the game, such as the purple settings button and the purple on the title. The purple settings is uknown, but here is a pic of the original game:
You can see purple in the blue of the title if you look very close. Waluigi wasn't even made when this was made. Another thing is you can see Waluigi's mustache in the picture of peach in the changing room. Waluigi's mustache is just a line, so there is no proof. There is a purple rabbit in the V1 manual, but it is from the beta, not the final. There is an upsidedown L in the hedges, but it could be an L. One more thing, there is a strange message from Toad saying "Come on, Everybody!" Peach says "listen everyone" at the end of the game, so it's not her. My guess this was a message in the beta game, but it is still in there, and it can be easily accessed using a hack. Search "Purple Prizes Waluigi" in Google image search or Ask.com image search. Please notice Waluigi has a purple upsidedown L, not a yellow one. Here is a rumor: "To unlock Waluigi, you first have to get all 150 stars and every mini game. Then, you have to do the next step: You know how in Super Mario 64 there is a plaque in Boo Courtyard that says "L is Real 2401?" Well, consider the L upside down because the next step is to make add up the coin records for each level. If the total is less than 2401, you'll have to increase the total until it reaches 2401. If it goes over 2401, you'll have to start the whole game over if you want Waluigi. If it's exactly 2401, you'll be able to get Waluigi by following the next few steps. The next step is to go lose your caps. Mario has to lose his cap by being mugged by Klepto in Shifting Sand Land. Luigi has to lose his cap by being mugged by Ukiki on Tall Tall Mountain. Wario has to lose his cap by being blown by the snowman in Snowman's Land. Once everyone is capless, go to Boo Courtyard as Yoshi. You'll then see that the star on the fountain is gone and that it was replaced with a ? block. Hit it to get a Waluigi cap. Then, put it on and go to the mirror room where you unlocked Wario. You'll see that the power flowers are still there. Take one and you'll gain the ability to see secrets in the castle. Now, go to the door to the lobby. Instead of going through it, triple jump over it and you'll end up ripping a curtain that hides a hole. Go through the hall that the curtain hid and then you'll end up outside in front of the cannon. Launch yourself from the cannon and aim at the giant picture of Peach. When you hit it, you'll be on a ledge. Then, a message will appear saying that you need 151 stars to go through the secret door. Get another Power Flower and head to Boo Courtyard You'll see that the star on the shrine is a real star. Get it, take another power flower, and go back to the cannon. Launch yourself at the picture of Peach and it will open. At the end of the hallway, there is a picture of Waluigi. Go through it to enter the Piranha Pit. You'll need to take damage when you first enter because you need every character to complete this level. If you make it to the end, you'll fight a really REALLY big Piranha Plant. Beat it to get a key with an upside down L. Then you need to Save, end the game and when you come back on go into the room with the Luigi, Mario and Wario doors on it and the white room door will be Waluigi's(if you have not got the white room star then get it before you unlock him)"
