Once you get the codes to use the alethiometer you can use it to find secret items and rooms in levels you have already beaten. In fact, it is the only way to get many of the secret items. Also use it to find hidden answers to unlock the meanings to more symbols. For example, when the Master of Jordan college tells you how to find secret answer, if you use the alethiometer it will give you an answer that makes him give you another lore. Also when you are trying to convince Lord Faa to take you along and he gives you the lore, instead of selecting thanks, use find secret answer to unlock a lore. This can also be used on Mrs. Coulter when she asks you to give her the Alethiometer in Bolvanger.

Some of you may already know this, but it took me a bit of time to learn. When playing as Iorek, if you press and hold down the A button, you'll strike once and then blue bubbles will flow into Iorek. Once you let go of the A button, Iorek will do a superstrong attack. This is easiest to do after tackling someone/something (running and pressing A at the same time). All you do is tackle, but don't let go of the A button after you finish tackling and you'll do a power attack as soon as you let it go.

I have found out that flying as high as you can and then changing to the rodent or cat form is not advisable because it will damage your health.So much for cats landing on their feet.Also,once the link between Lyra and Pan turns red,they will continue to lose health until they die,Pan is dissmised or Pan manages to get back to Lyra.
