Walkthrough - Temple Of CourageTo the Temple of Courage Mercay - Temple of the Ocean King Head to the Temple of the Ocean King and enter. You now have 12 minutes to make it to the next map. No problem. B1 Work your way down to B1. Grab the small key just as you did last time (along the way you may care to dig up the mound and ride the wind up to the treasure chest with the bombs in it). Use that small key on the same door and head down to B2. B2 Use the same techniques on B2 as you did before to make your way down to B3 (this time, blast the cracked wall by the pressure pad to create a nice shortcut for you). B3 On B3 the Force Gems are all located in the same spots as they were the first time around. This time, make use of the wind mound at the foot of the pressure pad block, so you don't have to deal with the fire obstacle at its base. Also, there's a gold pot in the NE corner, which you can access with your bombs. Once all Gems have been placed, move through the door and the Spirit of Wisdom will open the Door of Wisdom for you. Finally, new turf. Move through it (you may care to smash the gold vase to the west first) and head down to B4. B4 On B4 you'll encounter your first Phantom Eyes. Phantom Eyes function as lookouts for the Phantoms, so you don't want to be seen by them. They can be taken out if you approach and hit them when they are not looking at you. The easiest way to do this is to toss a boomerang at them to stun them, then slash them with your sword. Move down the east hall to the south. Use your boomerang on the switch below the wind guster to shut off the wind guster. Next, use your boomerang on the Phantom Eye, then pop it. Wind your way around the hall, working your way toward the safety pad in the NW corner (pass by the spiked covered entrance to the key alcove). Along the way you'll encounter another Phantom Eye. Take it out. In the NW corner you'll find a passage blocked by spikes and a red vase. Use the red vase, if you wish, then continue south. Take out the third Phantom Eye. This will result in a treasure chest in the safety pad to the east. Open it for a Power Gem. Here you'll find a wind mound. Dig it up, ride the wind to the top, and hit the switch to disable each and every wind guster in the area. Now that you're free to move about the area, move east, then north, to the crack in the wall. Blast it with a bomb, then hit the switch behind it. This will lower the spikes on the area protecting the key. Grab the small key, then use it on the locked door to the south. Move down the stairs to B5. B5 Avoid the spikes and work your way to the large room to the west. Take out the Buzz Blobs inside, smash the gold vase, then head to the large room to the east. Eliminate the Imps here, smash the gold vase, then head north. Toss a boomerang at the switch to the east for a treasure chest with Red Potion inside, then move down the stairs to B6. B6 Stay in place and wait for the Phantom Eye to come to you. Knock it out when it does, then step out and check the NE stone tablet. It lets you know it's the second tablet. Note that on your map. Next, run to the switch in the SE corner of the room. Crack it to lower the spikes protecting the stone tablet and read it. It says it's the 4th tablet. Mark that on your map. Next, head west, take out the Phantom Eye, then blow the blocks covering the SW tablet. Read it and discover it is the 3rd. Mark that on your map. Smash the gold pot to the west, then run to the NW corner of the room. Dig up the wind mound, then place a bomb on it. Time it so the bomb blows while it's up in the air, therefore destroying the blocks. When this is done, ride the wind up to the switch and crack it. Examine the NW stone tablet, which is number one AND number 5. Pull up your map and draw a line connecting the stone tablets in order. This will result in a "Z" with and extra line connecting 4 and 5, turning it more into the shape of an hourglass. Head to the red door at the bottom of the room (stand on the pressure pads to kill the wind), and draw this hourglass on the door with a single stroke. Move through the door. Walk up to the Sun Symbol and examine it. You will be told to transfer the sacred crest to your Sea Chart. Hmm. That's new. To pull this trick off, make sure the Sun Sea Chart is on the top screen of your DS, then pull up the Southwestern section of you Sea Chart so it appears on the bottom section. Notice the top map is a backwards reflection of the bottom map. To transfer the sacred crest, close your DS then open it up again. Voila. The crest will appear on your Sea Chart. Crazy. Warp via the blue light, and head for the Port. Check the mailbox along the way, and you'll be told of a ship attachment, the Salvage Arm, that can grab treasure at the bottom of the sea. Awesome. Off to Cannon Island! Sail past the Sacred Crest and dock at Cannon Island. Cannon Island Enter Eddo's house and make your way to the back room, where you'll find Eddo. Eddo will ask you to yell into your DS to let him know how much you want the Salvage Arm. I whistled three times. The first time he offered it for 1000, the second and third times he offered it for 300. I took the 300 Rupee deal. Salvage Arm: Use the Salvage Arm to scoop up treasure at the bottom of the ocean. To activate it, open up your Menu and tap "Salvage". Next, guide the arm to the bottom of the ocean by moving the square right or left along the bar. Move your stylus up or down to determine the speed of the falling arm. If you avoid the Octomines successfully, you'll reach the ocean floor. Guide the arm so it lands on top of your treasure, then safely guide it back up. With the Salvage Arm attached to your ship, sail for the Sacred Crest. Park yourself on top of it, then drop that Salvage Arm. Pick up the treasure at the bottom of the ocean, then guide it back up to the surface, where it will be revealed to be the Sun Key. Nice work! Now, remember the Sun Door we saw so long ago? It was in the secret underground hideaway on Molida. Off to Molida! On your way, you may care to collect the treasure marked with a red "X" directly north of Molida (resulting from the second treasure map you found). This will result in the Demon Chimney, a part for your ship. Continue to the island and you'll be met by a nasty Water Deku. To defeat it, take aim at its eye, that appears at the top of its head. Each time you hit the eye the Deku will spit poison pods at you. Shoot the poison pods before they strike you, then sail away and approach the Deku from another direction. This will cause him to expose his eye again. Hit it, then repeat the process until the Deku goes down (about five hits). With the Deku out of the way, dock at Molida Island. Molida Island Dig up that same hole at the base of the central palm tree, then fall into the secret hideaway. Make your way to that Sun Door and use your new key on it. Move through the cave and up the stairs to the outside world. Fight your way along the path the the west, then north, then west. Move up the stairs, then cross the bridge to the temple. Read the stone tablet next to the temple and you'll be told only statues can urge the door to open, and you must turn their gaze at the door. No problem. Head east and you'll find one of these statues. Strike it with your sword to activate it, then tap it. From here, rotate the statue so its gaze faces the temple door. Continue south and west. Fight the two Ogres (focus on one at a time, stun him by hitting him in the back with your boomerang, then take him out with your sword). When both Ogres go down another statue will be revealed. Activate and turn it. One more to go. Fall off the ledge to the west, then move back up the stairs. Head west and look for the third statue on the ledge across the way (southwest of you). Toss your boomerang at the statue to activate it, and be happy that it's already pointed at the temple door for you. Head for that temple. Pass through the door and enter. Temple of Courage 1F Head north. Follow the spiked logs. Step into the alcoves to let them pass, then continue to work your way north, then east. As you're moving east, bomb the north wall to reveal a path to a treasure chest. Open it for a dark pearl loop. Exit out, continue east, note the locked door to your north, then head south. Look out for the spinning blade. Move in its path to activate it, move out of its way, then slip past it. Continue south, then west. Step on the pressure pad to create a shortcut to the front door, then move up the stairs. Grab the small key from the treasure chest at the end of the path, then use it on the aforementioned locked door. Follow the path to the large east room. Here you'll be shut in with two Centipedes. To defeat the Centipedes toss your boomerang at their red segments. One direct hit will do it. When the 'pedes go down, move through the door to the south and head down the stairs to B1. B1 Ride the block east, cross, then ride the second block east. Switch blocks to continue your journey east, but look north. Here you'll spot a red-lit switch. Toss your boomerang at it to turn it blue. Step off the block and move up the stairs to 1F. 1F Defeat the Green Globs then enter the room to the north (which is accessible because you hit the aforementioned red switch). Read the stone tablets for clues (note "up, down, right, left"), then blow up the wall between the tablets. Check out the map on the wall, then pull up your map so you can see B1. Copy the pattern onto your map. Collect from the treasure chests (an ship part and a Power Gem). Return to the room below, blow the blocks and head east. Fight the Green Blobs (hit them with a boomerang then slash), note the locked door and blocked door to the north. Move all of the way south and step on the pressure pad to lower the door, thus creating another shortcut to the temple entrance. Ignore it, and move up the stairs. A Bunny Monster will drop down on you. Bunnies have big ears. Big ears don't like big noises, so whistle into your DS to stun him. Strike him with your sword once to take him out, and collect the dropped small key. Return to the locked door (note the Square Crystal Platform along the way) and move through it. Climb up to 2F. 2F In this room there are four switches. One to the north, one to the south, one to the east, and one to the west. This corresponds to what the stone tablet mentioned below, in that you should pull the levers in this order: Up, down, right, left. This is what you need to do in this room. Take care of the Beamos as you go (blow them with bombs, or avoid them altogether). Once this is complete a treasure chest will fall in the middle of the floor. Open it for the Square Crystal. Return to the Square Crystal Platform on 1F and insert your new Square Crystal. Pass through the lowered door to the NE and move down the stairs to B1. B1 Your route here is invisible. Luckily you found the path earlier and copied it on your map. In case you missed it, move past two pillars to the east, then two pillars to the south. Head five pillars west (after the third, feel free to head south to the treasure chest with the big green Rupee inside), then one pillar north. Move one pillar west, then two pillars north. Move one east, then one south. Finally, move east to the platform and collect the Bow and Arrow from the treasure chest. Bow and Arrow: To select the Bow and Arrow, tap the "Item" menu on the bottom right corner of the screen. Select the Bow and Arrow, tap the Bow and Arrow icon to draw your bow (or hold "L", which is my preference), then tap where you want to shoot the arrow. Occasionally you'll have to shoot and item that is off the screen. To accomplish this, hold your stylus in the direction you want to shoot. At this point your screen will be expanded. From here, glide the stylus to your target, then release when you want it to shoot. Shoot the blue eye with an arrow to extend a bridge. Cross it and pop the Centipede at the end. Before moving up the stairs, take note of the arrow jewel at the base of the bridge. If you hit it with your sword it will turn. Turn it so it faces east, then shoot your arrow at it. This will direct your arrow to the next jewel, then to the switch, turning it blue. Now that you see how this works, shoot it again to turn it red. (Note, this task is not necessary as the orb should be red to start, but, you should know how these jewels work). Move up the stairs to 1F. 1F Take care of the Centipedes here, then note the Square Crystal Platform. It's the same shape as the last crystal, which means you need to retrieve the last crystal. Luckily, there's a short path to it ahead. Head east and shoot the eye across the east gap with an arrow. This will open the door to the north. Move north and retrieve that Square Crystal, then carry it back to the platform. This will open another door (west of the door you just opened with the eye switch). Move through it and return to 2F. 2F Take out the Octos in this room, starting with those you can strike with your sword. Use your arrows on the Octos across the gap. When all are gone a bridge will extend to the east. Cross it. Use the blocks to move south, then east (as you're moving east, you may care to shoot the two blue eyes to the north with your arrows for a treasure chest with a Power Gem inside of it). Once you've crossed the blocks, cross the blades, then jump the gap to the south. Bomb the block at the end, then return to the Beamos above. Jump the next gap and grab onto the block here. Wait for the blade to cross east, then trap it there with the block. Return to the other side and push the block east until you reach the north path. Move up it and collect the Goron Amber from the treasure chest. Move down the stairs to 1F. 1F Avoid the Electroballs and head west. Step on the pressure pad to reveal another shortcut, then move down the stairs to B1. B1 Ride the platform east, then note the route to the north, as it's lined with torches. You must light all of the torches with one toss of the boomerang. To do this, step on the platform and begin your ride north. Immediately take aim at the lit torch with your boomerang, the guide it over the torches in this order: 5 4 2 3 1 You will be blocked to the north by red bars. Look east and note the arrow jewel. Hit it with your boomerang so it points west, then shoot an arrow at it. This will carry the arrow to a switch that will lower the red bars. Phew! Before moving up your new path, hit the arrow jewel so it points north, then shoot it with an arrow for a treasure chest with a Wisdom Gem inside of it. When this is done, head north and climb the stairs to 1F. 1F - 2F Take out the Bunny Monster and collect the Small Key. Move through the north door and climb to 2F. Stand on the platform to the left. You are told (by the eye stone) to draw your route on your map and the platform will carry you. Erase and redraw to move along a different route. The route you must take here is to the four pillars, each of which has an eye on it. Follow the same path we've used before: Up, down, right, left and shoot the eyes in this order. This will reveal a treasure chest with the Boss Key inside. Grab the Key and step onto the platform. Draw a route to the patch of land south of the Boss Door, which is in the SW corner of the room. Ride there, step off, and toss the key. Break the pots to gear up for battle and read the stone tablet to create your warp point. Move through the door to the north. Crayk, Bane of Courage To defeat Crayk you must keep a constant eye on the top screen of the DS, as it provides the view of Crayk. While watching, arm your Bow and Arrow. When you spot yourself in that top screen and you see that you're becoming bigger and bigger, that means Crayk is charging you. Shoot an arrow straight at the invisible monster, so it hits him in the eye that is coming your way. Once you've hit Crayk with an arrow, run to his now-visible body and pop as many of his blue balls as you can. Quickly step away before Crayk grabs you. If Crayk does grab you at any point during the battle, rub your stylus where indicated. Rub and rub until you are released. As you are fighting, you may care to take on any of Crayk's many crabs. Simply hit them once to remove their shells, one more time to take them down. They are easy enemies to defeat, and they often provide health or arrows for you. Repeat the process until you've popped all of Crayk's blue balls (there are six or seven). At this point Crayk will shed his shell and expose a sensitive blue tail. To get to that blue tail, shoot Crayk from the front with an arrow. He will cover his eyes and remain stunned for a few seconds. Use the time to run to his back end and slash the blue tail. Repeat until Crayk goes down (seven or eight hits). For defeating Crayk you will receive more sand for the Phantom Hourglass, and you'll release the Spirit of Courage (although something does, indeed, seem odd). Collect the Heart Container and step into the blue warp pad to exit the Temple. Backtrack off the island. Check the mailbox along the way for a note from Romanos and a ship part. Romanos asks that you visit him, so make your way to his hut (easternmost hut on the island). Romanos will reveal his new shooting range. Romanos's Shooting Range.: Pay to play, then hit as many targets as you can within the 70 second time limit. Ghosts are worth 10 points. Hit them consecutively for up to 50 points. Avoid the girl targets, or you'll lose 50 points. Beat the top score of 1700 for a Quiver (you'll earn many smaller prizes as you try). If you're having trouble hitting the targets, draw a line toward them (instead of tapping in the right direction) for a more precise hit. Also, make sure every arrow counts. A missed shot will take away your consecutive bonus. Beat 2000 for a Heart Container. When you're done with the Shooting Range, return to your ship. You'll find Oshus waiting for you. He will reveal Ceila as the Spirit of Courage, then will inform you the time has come to find the Ghost Ship. Once asea you'll be told to look for the Ghost Ship in the thickest fog you can find. Set your route for the Northwestern Sea and you'll be off...kind of. Jolene, a Gerudo, will begin shooting at you. You can avoid her torpedoes or let her capture you. Let her capture you then fight her. (To fight Jolene, wait for her to lunge at you, then strike her while she's momentarily frozen. After three hits, "rub" where indicated to knock her sword down). Once you fight Jolene, she will leave you alone (for now). Continue on your path to the Northwestern Sea. Once you reach the Northwestern Sea, continue your northern route. When the ship breaks, you'll be told to steer it. Follow the instructions and steer the ship by touching right to go right and left to go left. The spirits will "go wild" (they'll give off large sparkles) when you're aimed at the Ghost Ship (aim a bit NE). Let those sparkles guide you while you avoid the stone obstacles. Once you reach the Ghost Ship you'll automatically board. |
