The Sims 2: Castaway Cheats

thanks to ANOTHER person registerd on this site i can tell you the map pieces are:

1.in area marked with flower on map, 2.mushroom and skeleton area,3.door over bridge with skull and crossbones, 4. dressmaker lady and 5. doctor.

Besides finding items around the island there is some other ways to get them. When diving in the water you can find shells, urchins, starfish etc. Most of this is used for making clothing. Every morning a crate will come to shore to the right of your home. If a breifcase appears then you will get a piece of clothing. Once you finish making the SOS sign on the beach, you will get a box on a parachute. These items are more for making objects.

Turn the sound on on your ds. Wait until night turns into day again and listen for a little strumming sound. If you hear it, that means the paracute will be on the beach. If you don't hear it, wait another day. In my experience, the parachute comes every 3-4 days. Remember, if you don't hear the sound, the parachute won't be there!

OK, I was stuck on 99% and only needed 4 clothing-items (which come with the suitcase, on the place where you stranded the first time). I played for hours on end, but the suitcase never came (only the crate, or other items like sticks or leafs I didn't need!).

Here's how I eventually got what I wanted:
1 - First thing: play around until your energy is quite low and go to sleep in your shelter. Save your game.
2 - Wake up and walk to the beach (1 click to the right). There should be an item or a crate now. No Go back to 1.
3 - If the item you need IS there (on the beach, in the crate or in the suitcase...): play on! If you need something else badly, you can go back to 1. (don't forget to Save!).
4 - The item you need isn't there: press the "Start" button on your NDS and select "Quit" and "Yes".
5 - Select "Load game" and then select the game you previously saved. Go back to 2.

The item you get, seems to be given at random by the game. So you may need to repeat the steps above a lot of times. I noticed that the suitcase comes every 10 to 20 times! I spent an hour, getting the 4 items I needed, but now at least I have 100%!

Maybe this trick also works with the parachute, but I have not tried that...

To go pole fishing you must first craft the pole. To use it, find a rock in a body of water. Tap on it and it should say "fish". From the bugs you have collected, pick a colored bug. When getting the line close to a fish it will show what color bug they like. Some fish will eat any bug though.

if u hit the x button on your nintendo DS the map comes up u can get round the island quicker by using this by clicking on the place you want to go. It will also help if you are really tired and need to sleep so the monkey wont steel from you.

Where to get the water bottle:

Where you first washed up. The first place you ever were on the island. Just walk to the farthest end of the island. Then go to the fresh water stream to fill it up!

Ms. Weeder will give you the shovel parts after you give her a mango. She will be happy and blah blah blah and then she will give you the shovel parts. Then go to the crafting rock and make the shovel. (Mangoes are on the third island. You will need a canoe for this.)

when you crush bugs keep some handy for the doctor. She will need them also if you crush all the bugs at one time you will get extra bugs they are useful so try again but whatever you do dont give up

Look in the crate that you got stuck in oten when on the island. Everyday you will find somthing new!
Note-I am not sure that this will continue, but I've done it about ten times.

I just answered this question for someone else but i figured more people would want to know the answer.

okay, it is kinda tricky to get on the boat, it keeps giving you the option to examine right? yeah, well, you have to hit just the right spot on your screen to get it to say use canoe. the screen is at a strange level of view and its hard to hit the arrow and it keeps thinking your hitting the boat. thats why its saying examine. keep trying, you can use the boat as soon as your done making it. don't get frustrated, just keep tapping the screen around the arrow until USE CANOE pops up.

How to get extra stuff!!

1) go to the bit before the part where you can go into the water and dive for stuff... the sandy part.

2) press on any rocks there

3) you can make an 'sos' signal out of rocks, but u must collect enough first.

4) once you have made the 'sos' sign out of rocks on the sand, check back every day, and
a few days later, there will be a parachute box that has appeared. It has supplies u
need in it. This is there every few days for the rest of your time on the island

How to complete the game
To get all the pieces of the map and complete the game you must complete all the stories of the survivors.
The last complete that will certainly be the doctor who will give you the piece of the map that you are missing.
The other pieces are on them, except one that will give you the chef or student at the end of their history.
Vai then on the area of observation of the temple and find the option tuffarti at sea, where there's a pirate ship to return home.

I recently saw figured out that you do not have to keep using the boat to get to the other island where Suzy Dressmaker is. Instead you ca just click on the compass from your survival guide scroll to the other island area and click which icon you want to travel to on the other island.

When you make the boat and go to the island where the mango and the naked-teacher-music ladies is, you will find a metal pole near the crashed airplane that can be used to make a crowbar. DO NOT MAKE A CROWBAR! it will get you into the ship, yes, but there is nothing of much value in there so it's a HUGH waste of material. The metal pole will need to be used later on to make a fire pit for the chef which is way more important than getting into the ship.

In the ship there is a box you can get stuff out of but its only decorative stuff, nothing that will advance your game.

Please hed this warning, unless you have two metal poles or someone can GUARANTEE you the location of another one, you DO NOT MAKE A CROWBAR before you make the chefs fire pit!
