Collect long sticks off of the beach where the crate is normally on the days the crate isn't there, on the days the crate isn't there you will often find palm leaves, sticks, posts, etc. Once you have all the material then you will need to go to the area where you craft your tools, select on the item you want to craft, and if you have all the materials, you should be able to craft your items. In a previous forum someone didn't realize that there are more than one task per person. If you have successfully completed all of what the people want, than you should have all the material you need to construct your boat.
