which spear fishing spot can you get the puffer fish?

im really stuck ***ly not noin i used my nails for some silly thing now i realise i need them for tradin for a palm fond as i cant find any and dnt have an axe to chop down a tree yet...

so does anyone know if there is another way to get a palm fond or nail...

How do I get across the quick sand? And, what do you have to do to get the p***ages open on te volcano island. It seems like you have to use your hyrpgliphs, but it doesn't give you an option to put them in it or anything. Please help.
