The Sims 3 Nintendo DS Version Review

by loaf Dec 21, 2010

The Sims 3 for DS was well done. The fact that you can make your sim and have whatever type of lifestyle you desire is truly a great feature. Every single bonus detail adds hours of entertainment. The bonus powers in this game that your sim can make happen make this game greater. Some powers made a winter wonderland to come to your city, and some cause fires or destruction. In this game, you can have marriages, but strangely, no children. In all the other Sims 3 games, your sim could have a child if married. The actions each sim can make is as real human might, choosing wether to be angry, romantic, friendly, special, or humorous. Overall, the little bonuses in this game makes Sims 3 DS Version an outstanding game.

8Story line
How you create your story with your sim is quite unlike any other game you might find for the Nintendo DS. You can watch your sim develop throughout its life and it has many choices for careers from an athletic superstar to an astronaut along with many other choices for a job.
The graphics in this game were far more superior than other games. Every single small detail added a realistic effect to an everyday object. There were some areas in the game, like a building up close, got less detailed and you could only see large pixels. Most places were well done other than that.
The sound on this game was not on time. Most of the time when you started to take a shower or talk to another sim, the sound would come on after the water fell or the sim would act as if speaking when making no sound at all. Nintendo might have been able to do a better job with the sound effects.
The gameplay of this game was fantastically done. All of the different actions each sim could do kept people playing. With each time you level-up in a stat, you can do even more actions which keeps you moving throughout the game. The fact that you're sim couldn't have a child was disappointing.
10Lasting Appeal
The highlights of this game were the build mode. In this mode you could build the house of your dreams. With nearly every detail of the PC Sims 3 was added into the build mode. The house may not look too beautiful but the fact that you can build a house easily was quite an improvement for the DS.
(Out of 10)
